This is my copy of the GS4 ost with the names changed to match the english release (as best as I can with the info I had). This is a rip of the official ost, not a game rip. However, as the official ost is missing some stuff (marginal as it might be) it also has game rip tracks for the following

Pressing Persuit - Cornered 2007 (variation)
Eldoon's Harmonica
Klavier's Air Guitar
Guilty Love - Speaker Version
Guilty Love - Mixer Version

I've also added the album art cover I did so it's all in english. If you've not already got a copy of the ost, I think this is a good one to grab and people who do have it who like to have things in english may find it easier to download it than rename all the files and tags. Either way, hope it helps.

Nice!

Actually, I posted a request for the OST, but it was responded to (and locked) a while back.

That's because there's already a topic on it several pages down in the Prosecutor's Lobby. Go res it. :)

I already did a thorough renaming job of my own, but I'll take these and see how it looks.

EDIT: In one word: ew. Here we go then... *C&P from post in older topic*

The first thing I did was rename (read: translate and clean-up) all the track names so they actually made sense when compared to the English script, then added the unofficial cover art TheRedPriest did for the OST to the tags and finally changed the release year to 2008 because it bugged me too much. Then I made a new ZIP file. n_n

(Yes, yes, I probably have OCD. :P)

Anyway, here are the cleaned-up track names that I'm using and will use in future when discussing the OST:

Hmm. Some of those are a bit better, yes. I don't know a word of Japanese so I could only work from the track list translation from RPG Fan and CR's audio page. And as far as that goes, I didn't want to stray too much from the original titles apart from changing names.

Based off the generally accepted OST track nomenclature from past games I think sticking with Ace Attorney # for the Staple court themes/ending is fine. Also the Examination theme also is most commonly translated as "Moderate", which also makes the most sense to me.

The rest seem to work well enough, the major differences being a matter of taste. I may go back and tweek a few of my track titles though.

There really isn't enough talk about the aural side of Ace Attorney around here, so it's nice to see someone else who's as into it as I am (if not more so >_> )

They should have that horrible noise that is made whenever Klavier covers his ears.

While there is some grey area as to what is sound effect and what is music, I think the flinch glitch noise is safely in the sound effect department.

Awesome job. Thanks for ripping the soundtrack.

I didn't rip this on, just the last 5 tracks that were not on the actual ost. But I'm glad it helped you none the less.

Agreed. I've been wanting that for a while but I can't find it anywhere. :sadshoe:

Moderato — moderately (108 - 120 bpm)

If you use "Allegro", you should also use "Moderato". Simple as that. Everyone else is wrong. :)

Most of my renaming takes into account the actual US game script, though the rest are indeed mostly a matter of opinion. I'l explain in more detail:
06 - Apollo uses variations of the catchphrase "Time for Justice!" throughout the courtroom sections of the game, so it seemed appropriate to use the most iconic variant in the title.
09 - "Thrill Theme" is awkward gramatically so I changed it to "Thrilling Theme", but more importantly I felt it important to differentiate it and "Suspense" because both themes are used repeatedly in AJ.
10 - The English name for the "Minuku System" is the "Perceive System". "Surge, Glare" seemed like broken English and considering how the Perceive System is portrayed graphically in game, it made sense to refer to it as a "Surging Glare".
13 - "Child of Magic" and "Magical Girl" have marginally different meanings but the latter is a little more cogent in formal English.
14 - The US script names Klavier's theme explicitly as "Guilty Love" (also see track 21)
15 - Ema Skye's theme is a remix of Turnabout Sisters 2005 so it made sense to reference that in the title.
18 - 4-2's English title is "Turnabout Corner"; the addition of the "Intro" subtitle refers to when it is used in-game.
20 - The benevolent gangster family in the game is referred to in the US script as the "Kitaki Family" instead of the "Kitakitsune Family"
22 - Because the "Kitakistune" reference was lost in translation it made sense to use a looser translation; "Kitaki Under Fire" retains the original meaning of the JPN title.
23 - Lamiroir/Klavier's double act performance is referred to as "The Guitar's Serenade".
24 - The magical troupe in the game is referred to as "Troupe Gramarye".
25 - The direct translation again seemed like broken English and so was altered; the fact that the theme is most commonly used when referring to Troupe Gramarye's past meant that "prop" was a more appropriate word than "gadget". Additionally, when referring to fate, "smear" seemed inappropriate - a more fitting word would be "curse", hence "Props and Tricks Curse Their Fate", which is particularly relevant to events in 4-4.
26 - Lamiroir's theme is named directly after her PR slogan in-game and therefore required changing to match.
27 - 4-4's English title is "Turnabout Succession", etc.
28 - The US name for the red lock system during investigations is the "Psyche-Lock"
29 - The art studio in the game is explicitly referred to repeatedly as "Drew Studio"
30 - The "Solitary Confinement" theme is reserved solely for when Kristoph is on-screen, hence I added his name to the title.
32 - I have seen this track with the title "Seven Years Ago" and "Forgotten Legend", so I simply combined the two to eliminate the confusion.

*whew*

Does that make more sense now? ^^

Personally, I agree with your music title changes. I have always used the word Moderato, myself. But I still think "A Fate Smeared with Tricks and Devices" is a cool name.

How did they miss the Variation of Cornered 2007?

Sure, it played like once, but come on...
