I see him as an incredibly proud person who takes his image and reputation extremely seriously, to the point that he's willing to do nearly anything to make himself look good. Forging evidence to get a not guilty verdict? Sure. Taking a man's life because he dropped you as his attorney seven years ago? Sounds good. Spending seven years obsessively watching an artist and his daughter because they know too much about certain events and didn't die when you wanted them to? Okay. (I probably got some of those details wrong because I haven't played GS4 in a while, though.)

To me, Kristoph is a man obsessed with details. He wants things to go his way and is not above manipulation and murder in order to ensure that this happens. Combine that with his incredible amount of pride and you have a recipe for a very dangerous person. Although, I wonder about his relationship with Apollo... I think that a part of him genuinely did care about Apollo's progress as a rookie defense attorney. It'd add some humanity to his character.

So... yeah. :garyuu: I hope what I said makes sense. XD;

THIS.
Seriously, this is how I always imagine Kristoph. And that's why he's such a wonderfully awesome character. :D

I read that conversation thing. He does seem the type to be proud of his underwear though, LOL. Annoyingly he's good at avoiding questions, like the real Kristoph. >_>

Prisoners get a ton of privileges. You'd be surprised at how many people commit crimes to get into jail, just because they have nothing, and prison provides them with everything they need. Not that Kristoph's like that though, lol.

I always thought it was a bit odd that the GS4 developers gave Kristoph such a nice cell, considering that the Japanese penal system makes the U.S. system look like a paradise for anarchy lovers.

Maybe it's not actually a cell, but just the prison library in disguise?

If only GS4 didn't specify that the room was actually Solitary Cell 13. Anyway, I suppose that Kristoph got away with a better cell for any number of reasons, like being considered a first-time offender or a manifestation of the Devil. :Kristoph-hair:

The whole thing is just a painting, with his real cell behind it! :O

No, really, I think he got a nice cell because everyone is too freaking scared to deny him of it. I mean, do you want to make him angry? Think of the last person who angered Kristoph.

Plus there's the fact that Kristoph got dumped in some sort of solitary confinement, which means there's nobody that he can snitch about anyway. :garyuu:

Ah well, I don't think there's so much of an issue here anymore anyway.

he wanted fame, of course

Spoiler: 4-4
Kristoph had studied law EXTREMELY well for loopholes when he became an attorney. He sought for fame and fortune from his skills. When State vs Enigmar came along, Gavin saw exactly how to fulfill that goal. And to make sure he won, he had that forged diary page made. But then Zak saw through Gavin, and Kristoph was expelled as Zak's defence. So, to make up for his lost fame, he destroyed Phoenix's life just because he was Zak's new attorney.

I've said it before, and i'll say it again:

He is a combination of Karma, Engarde and Hawthorne rolled into one.

I agree. It's kind of ironic because one of the reasons I started liking Kristoph (besides his immense hotness) was the fact that he was a completely original character. Then I find Court-Records... :redd-is-white:

We've had this discussion before, so I'll try not to get into it too much, but Kristoph is not like the other villains! Capcom is more creative than that.

von Karma: Their personalities are completely opposite. von Karma was manipulative in court, very aggressive. Now, we've never actually seen Kristoph defend anybody (Phoenix doesn't count), but we know that his nickname was "The Coolest Defense in the West", which implies that he was very calm... Something von Karma wasn't. When Kristoph went Super-Saiyan on us, that wasn't normal for him. Being short tempered and touchy was normal for Manfred.

Engarde: Engarde? I don't even see the relation past the fact that they're both antagonists... Seriously... Someone mind explaining this one?

Dahlia: NO!! He is not like Dahlia! OK, first of all, Dahlia was weak. She was not manipulative. Kristoph was extremely manipulative, that's how he operated. Their motives for killing were completely different, and they way they went about killing were different, too. And the way I see it, bunching characters together really takes away the uniqueness and originality of said characters. They're different, that's what makes it interesting.

The reason why Kristoph is my favorite villain in the series is because of how original he is in terms of characterization and motivation. Cravat of Doom summed up my thoughts pretty well on him, but I love him for the reasons I said earlier in this topic. He's a man obsessed with details and things going his way; not necessarily sheer perfection like Karma, and he lacks Karma's aggression. He prefers to manipulate things quietly and carefully from behind the scenes.

I still think that the central aspects of his character are his attention to detail and making sure everything goes according to plan. He's willing to be ruthless in order to keep everything in line, too.

As for why he originally became an attorney... to be honest, I don't think he initially did it for the fame involved. I can see him as having a natural aptitude for law, and as such he started off his career strong. As time went on, maybe he developed a much stronger need to insure that all went well for his side of the case; that's when he began to manipulate scenarios from behind the scenes. I think he did enjoy the power involved with the position to some extent, though.

Actually, because I haven't played AJ in a while... are we given any hints that tell Kristoph manipulated cases prior to Zak Gramarye's case? I can't remember anything of the sort, but I wanted to make sure because my memory sucks. Even if not, though, I'm guessing that he did manipulate previous cases.

This topic is making me like Kristoph more and more, hehe. :garyuu: He's so fun.
