What's that you say? We can send the egg to you with some sort of Interpol escort who ensures it doesn't fall into criminal hands and you can prepare the cure? Hey, that gives me an idea! How about instead of that, we use Interpol agents to KILL EVERYBODY who tries to share the cure with foreigners? We're a civilized country, so let's enforce the death penalty for a nonviolent crime and use an international police force to back us up! AWESOME.

Maybe Machi was sympathetic, but even if he was, the driving force behind his help in the smuggling was the fact that he needed cash.
Sure, they may have "risked their lives defying an unjust law," but it's not like they're martyrs for it. They did it for selfish reasons, not for the greater good of helping to wipe out an incurable disease.

Machi is the interesting one, though. There's a theory that he did it for Lamiroir's eyesight operation, but I disagree with it. I can't say for sure what he wanted the money for, but I think it was something selfish. Something that would largely benefit him alone.
I agree that Borginia is a... perhaps corrupt country, though. If not corrupt, so strictly run that the common people suffer as a result. I imagine that it's had some civil unrest in the past.

I may have overstated my case concerning Daryan's innocence, he was motivated at least partially by desire of money, but I find him morally superior to the despicable goon that is Romein LeTouse, and even LeTouse is merely a pawn of the corrupt, even evil, Borginian government.

That brings me to the worst point of this whole sorry mess. It isn't an incurable disease in the least! The cure has already been tested, developed, and proven, but Borginia keeps it under lock and key for the flimsiest of reasons, leaving non-Borginians who have contracted the disease to die a slow and unnecessary death.

Sadly, we don't know enough about Borginia's laws or Incuritis itself to determine whether this is a feasible solution.
It's possible that Borginia has strict policies about who can be let in or out of the country, much like a few of the worse police states in the past century.
It's also possible that Incuritis ravages the victim's body enough that travel to a foreign country would put too much of a strain on the victim and would worsen his or her chances of survival.

In fact maybe the cure is but one stage of the formula's evolution and it can easily be combined with something simple to make a poison or even if the dosage is used wrongly it acts as a poison.
Also the Aryan's comment is offensive. Those features were just genetic just another countries features, it's the Nazi's that had the ideals not necessarily all 'Aryans'.

As for the cocoon... if you really wanted to get into it, it's possible that the cure and poison are derived from the same chemical. There are a lot of chemicals in nature that are beneficial in one form, but harmful in another (enantiomers of the same compound). They follow the same chemical processes for the most part, but if one part of the compound is "mirrored" it can completely change what the chemical will do to the body. I think that the "active" chemical in the Borginian cocoon is like this: one form of the chemical is a life-saving medication while its other form is a lethal poison. (There was actually an issue with this in the USA with a sedative given to pregnant women to deal with pain, but it turned out that this sedative's enantiomer was an extremely dangerous chemical that caused birth defects.)

Though, I agree. The law is asinine. There are a bunch of other, perhaps more lethal poisons (such as atroquinine) that people are able to get their hands on. My point is that don't blame Borginia, blame everyone. Because the whole world is at fault. Interpol is no different than the other AA police; they are dumber than horseshoes.

I'm not trying to be nitpicky, though! Borginia may still be a decent country outside of some of its laws. And I agree, it's the government and not the people. If the government really is that bad, it's the Borginian people who are suffering from it the most. :/ I doubt it's as bad as, say, North Korea, but their government does seem too strict in some regards.

Actually, I remembered something from AAI. Edgeworth mentioned that Borginia is 9 hours away from the part of the USA that the plane was traveling to, and if you see the English version of AAI as taking place in Los Angeles (which I think is where it was theorized to take place in the English version)... I looked up a time zone map, and the 9-hour difference would place Borginia somewhere close to Sweden and Norway. Hmm! You'd definitely know more about me on this subject, though, seeing that you're from that part of the world. XD I just used North Korea as an example of a very strictly-run country.

I always thought that the Borginian cocoons was a euphemism for either cocaine or marijuana (but mostly marijuana because it has the healing properties cocaine doesn't have.) Was more of a Cohdohpia fan, anyway. The Borginians in the game seem like real jerks (except for Machi.)
