This was my first ever attempt at a cosplay, and it was at NYCC this year. :hobohodo:
I think it looks decent, but sadly nothing is exact. :sadshoe:
So here's a comparison picture (sorry the quality isn't great):

You can't see the hat very well so here's one of the hat by itself:

Just wanted to know what you guys thought of it. :phoenix:

It's pretty good! That's a wonderful hat. :hobohodo:

Thank you! :will:
I just wish there wasn't that black part on the bottom of the hat, but other than that I'm happy how it came out.
I saw some pretty good AA cosplayers at NYCC actually, a Klavier, detective Ema, Maya, and two lawyer Phoenix's. Didn't see any other hobo Phoenix's though. :yuusaku:

Hm. I have to say. Pretty impressive. The hat's a job well done, too.

Not bad! But...

...you need to learn how to knit. :hobohodo:

Thanks. :phoenix:
The costume was pretty fun to make.... even if it was incredibly simple....

Oh, just because Nick's hat is really obviously knitted (I think the artbook says as much) in a very simple stitch, so it'd be fun to see someone cosplay with a handknitted version. I was just teasing though.

Ahh ok.....apparently I can't tell when someone is teasing. :redd:
Too bad I couldn't knit to save my life. :hobolaugh:
That would be pretty cool though, if someone hand knitted a hobo Nick hat. :hobohodo2:

You know, I saw another Hobo Nick at AX this July. *If I had a photobucket/flickr/etc., I'd show you.*

Spoiler:
On a personal note, my brother keeps asking me why people are referring to homeless people and the like as "Hobos"; and I keep telling him "I don't know." (He's younger) You happen to know why? For his satisfaction.

My sister asked the same thing when she was younger, actually.
And just wondering, was the Hobo Nick cosplay you saw good? I'm curious now. :think-pw:

Thanks! :edgy:
If I ever cosplay again I may do Phoenix as a lawyer. If I do it'll be pretty difficult compared to HoboNick. :ack:

You really look like Phoenix (intended as a compliment)! It would be more difficult, but you should give that a go one day! :will:

I actually did want to do Phoenix as a lawyer, but didn't have enough time. I got tickets only a few weeks before NYCC, so I just decided to do HoboNick. :hobohodo: If I ever attempt Phoenix as a lawyer....his hair is going to mess me up, it looks so hard to do. :ack:

Also....I really look like Phoenix? That's AWESOME! :phoenix:

The hair would be hard.. but if you could stabilise it that might work. Or you could always get some wig off the internet... but that would kinda be cheating! :godot:
I thought that you looked like Phoenix, but that's just me. Your face and eyes are very similar to his... if that's possibly as he is a cartoon! In any case, you did a excellent job on the hobonick cosplay!
