In addition to the game rankings in this week's Famitsu, there were also interviews with a number of industry figures about the future of gaming, including one with Gyakuten Kenji producer Motohide Eshiro. Blogger hoso_boso provides a summary:

また、今週号から3号連続の企画「クリエイターに訊く ゲームの未来」内にて、逆転検事シリーズのプロデューサーを務めた江城元秀氏のインタビューが掲載されています。
今後作ってみたいゲームを尋ねられ、色々と答えていますが、逆転検事に関しては「『逆転検事』シリーズは自分で立ち上げたタイトルで、思い入れもあるので、もちろん(また)作りたい」とのこと。

Also, from this week there'll be three serialized "Ask the Creators: The Future of Videogames" features, and Gyakuten Kenji producer Motohide Eshiro was interviewed.
He was asked about what kind of games he'd like to make from here on out, and while he had a variety of answers, with regards to Gyakuten Kenji he said it's a series he helped put together and he's really attached to it, so of course he'd like to work on it again.

Bear in mind, this isn't any sort of a confirmation of a Gyakuten Kenji 3 - Keiji Inafune spent years saying he'd like to make a third Mega Man Legends, and we all know how that turned out - but it seems the door is open for one at some point.

In the meantime, though, we've still got Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney and Gyakuten Saiban 5 to look forward to.

If there was such a thing as the "Wooster Seal of Approval", this post would get it.

Looking for the latest AA5 trailers or the PLvsAA OST?

I will be away until May 22nd, and then with limited internet until the 27th.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to complete the trilogy... even if nobody outside of Japan gets to play it =(

Ohhh, I'd love that, no doubt it would be on the 3DS at this point. Inb4 "Gyakuten Kenji 3D". But seriously, seeing some sort of crime scene simulation little thief style in 3D would be neat. :3

IF it comes to Western Shores, which would be baffling since they decided to just keep the middle one.

Though yeah totally using Little thief to create a virtual crime scene using the camera would be pretty amazing.

You can tell from GK2 that they really have the whole Gyakuten thing down.

I'm super-excited about GS5, and after seeing what they did with GK2, I'd love to see exactly how Eshiro would end the trilogy.

That's some nice optimism you've got there.

Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney isn't a question of if but when. Capcom USA's dropped a hint that localization is up to Level-5, consider that Professor Layton is Level-5's most profitable brand. There's no logical reason it won't come over. Not to mention the English pamphlets at TGS last year, it's the most open secret out there.

GS5, I'm admittedly more skeptical about. Ignore for a moment, AAI2's non-release, since that game was a race in Japan to get out while the DS was still relevant, remember AAI1? That game was only released in English in Europe, instead of the variety of languages it traditionally has. That suggests either A, Capcom was too busy translating a more profitable game, or B, Capcom did not have much faith in AAI1's reception. And mind, A and B are not mutually exclusive.

But we've a long way before GS5 comes out in Japan, and Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney could EASILY rekindle interest in the AA brand. I'd just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Personally, I would like there to be less GK and more GS/AJ
