Then I'll post him gradually. I think I can make him in short time by using DD Nick's heads.

Then why these have pretty much identical face and were definitely made later than in 2009?...

Hehe... That's like a contradiction in the games, however the order is opposite. At first when I made dd nick, I wanted to make him in AJ graphics, so I editted hobos head(cleaning mouth and making him bald).

But I realized it looked so odd so I changed the faces.xD

...Why do I always have to have things my way with me being the only person thinking they are actually better my way...

Played the demo, animated the set myself, trying to get as big accuracy as possible. It was possible, especially with no-talking ones, like how many times he hit his beard or the paper and how many times he blinks afterwards.

Ironically, I commented on how the animations were too fast but sped up many of these instead, except for idle one and other that actually were too fast.

Damage sprite is the closest it can get to DD one, but I think we could use start-up sweating sprite, because it will most likely look weird when Phoenix will go from standing shocked to leaning just like that.

Excellent animations. I would like to see trials using these! DD styles!
But.. you know, start-up animations will be suspended. :payne:
And also I said in PM, idle animations' whisker needs to be spikey. :phoenix:

Actually I want to make Athena's court sprites now.. hehehe

Yellow, shock.
Blue, sad or neutral?
Red, MAD.
Green, happy!

It involves looking for game footage of her to keep it accurate?

I see you made finger moving sprites... Wow, these are surely memorable ones, despite never appearing outside of GBA. :godot:

Also, it seems you didn't fix the first "idle" frame of headshake/nodding animation on the sheet.
There is strange black area on one of the sweating frames.

And... I wonder... Are you going to make GS5 courtroom?

There will be 4 sheets of moving fingers. Heh.

Oh, hotfixes should be done. :payne:

Well, I tried, but I realized I had to draw extended parts to fit 256*192... It's difficult! :grey:

-start-up sheet for pointing.
-finger moving sheets for pointing.
-minor edits to ashamed sheets.

Frankly, I'm not a big fan of the middle-transition sprite in the Objection! animation. Not that it's poorly sprited--to the contrary, it's excellently done (although the mouth is a smidge wonky)--I merely feel it makes the animation too stutter-y. With 3D models you get all that fluidity of motion, but with sprites its harder to accomplish, especially with such a dramatic pose change like the Objection! poses have. Removing the middle frame makes it look better to the eyes, unless you want to add two or three more poses to smooth the transition.

When working with AA sprites, it tends to be one extreme or the other: fairly fluid with lots of separate poses/states or "jumpy" (I don't like the term because it makes it sound poorly animated) with few frames but more... stylistic, allowing the player to fill in with their imagination the jump in animation.

Hm. At first I was suggesting to Rajin using the DS/GBa method for a middle transition frame - basic pointing as a base, with hand in different position. :yogi:

Hmm... I see. But you know, that new sheet is also my precious sprite took me 2hours... I don't want it erased. Maybe I'll add other sprites to make it look like Nick's slowmotion objection in T&T.
I realized that making AJ style AADD sprites is difficult in many points... I receive critiques in any point of view.. :acro:

As always your composition is spot on! I've got a few critiques when it comes to the sprite itself, but your technique is once again fabulous.

My major critique is that the head seems small/disproportionate to the rest of his body, this is incredibly apparent in his paper pose. I'm not a fan of the new sleeves, they're huge and baggy and block off his body in a slew of places, the older sleeve seemed more... tame, to me, I suppose. Finally (it seems like a lot, I know) his face on the nose-pinch sprite seems very... "IMPOSSIBRU"--he looks like an old Asian man. It's just, a funny thing to see when looking at the sprite.

Hope this helps :)

Ugh.. Your major critique is for old ones, right?
I want to go on with new sleeves, cause last ones were too Pollyish.. This new ones show his personality. But I'll make it smaller anyway.
The last one.. old Asian man.. I don't think that's the problem. Maybe the reason would be that, I live somewhere in Asia.
