I wasn't as emotional with video games as I am now when I first played the AA games, which I'm actually a little disappointed about. I'm pretty sure I'm going to cry lots and LOTS while playing Dual Destinies though, even when it's not anything sad. Back on topic, I do remember crying when I replayed case 3-5.

Spoiler: 3-5
This was years ago and it was late at night, so I'm sorry if I'm getting all of this wrong. Anyway, it was at that part where Godot talked about Mia. Diego/Mia is one of my favorite pairings in the series, and just thinking about how tragic they were made me cry so I was just bawling the whole time.

But then Godot went "Oh well, let's go back to the witness' testimony." I was like "... Are you expecting me to just wipe away all these tears and go back to the trial. No. No. Continue talking about your dead girlfriend, Godot. These tears aren't stopping, you better finish what you started."

Not crying, but
4-4
Spoiler:
I read through the ending of the last case of GS4 and the exchanges between the Gavin brothers made me a little emotional. I mean, how Klavier at first is teaming up with his brother and not letting anything Apollo says get to him, while trying to act all grown up in front of his brother, and then, how clearly painful it is when he realizes his brothers guilt, followed by him going along with Apollo, having to stand up to and accuse Kristoph. That's... something, for sure. I'm impressed with how well they showed Klavier struggling. Just look at this:
Apollo:
That's how you killed him!

Klavier:
What...!?

Kristoph:
My, my. You've upset my poor
brother to the point of
uselessness.

and then:

Klavier:
Evidence!

Klavier:
Evidence that shows this man,
Kristoph Gavin, requested that
forgery seven years ago!

Kristoph:
Klavier...?

Klavier:
Just... prove it!

Klavier:
Clear up these doubts now,
or I swear, I'm off this
case!

and at the very end:
Klavier:
...Now's our chance.
Let's clean out the family
closet, eh, Kristoph?

Kristoph:
Klavier... You're spinning
out of control.

Kristoph:
Calm yourself before you say
something you'll regret.

Klavier:
Spinning out of whose control?
Mine? ...Or yours?

I've said this many times, and I will say it again: Poor Klavier.

The one that really got me was:

Spoiler: JFA-Case 4
The part where Edgeworth goes to the airport after Fran.

I just really liked their sibling-like relationship, and that part always makes me feel really moved when I think about it. Though it is a long time since I played AA2.

I really couldn't stop crying afterwards. It felt kinda weird to be crying at a video game, but the AA series was the first video game I'd played that truly felt like something as important as a story. :larry:

The funny thing is I hardly ever cry otherwise, and I've never cried to any movie, book, game or whatever before. Seriosuly, about 95% of the times I've cried or got tears in my eyes (which counts as crying in my book) 2013-2014 have been Ace Attorney-related. This franchise is turning me soppy :edgeworth:

"Hah! I don't know what you're talking about. What I do know is, you'll never be half the lawyer she was!"

And then that scene with Phoenix and Mia's spirit objecting at the same time made me shed a tear.

"Just now... I saw her spirit in you."

I got tears in my eyes at the end of the 5-DLC-case, but that was because I was thinking about other things at the same time, which made things in the game sadder. If I wasn't distracted thinking about those things I very much doubt that I would tear up.

Edit: What the actuall hell was that all about!??

Spoiler 3-5
Spoiler:
I rarely cry at games, it's just kinda hard to make an emotional connection with them. Trials and Tribulations is one of the few that did. The part that really killed me though was when Iris revealed at the end of 3-5 that she was the one actually with Phoenix instead of Dahlia. I swear that combined with the stuff with Godot and Mia and I was a wreck at the ending.

At the end of 3-5 when Pearl and Maya open Misty's necklace and find the picture and realize she always thought of Maya and Mia. It was hilarious to see that the urn had broken before and that picture was just cute. Plus, *that* section of Elise Deauxnim's theme began to play at that part

There were many times I come close to crying, but really this one got to me the most.

Spoiler: AAI-4
Right after giving the swissroll to Kay...and then seeing her start to tear up talking about how her daddy's 'not here anymore.' I was like "Don't you dare! Don't you dare make me cry!" But soon enough, when she started crying, I couldn't stop myself. "Why! Why did you make me cry, game?!"

Of coarse what happened afterwards made it all better.

"...It is I who should be thanking you, Mr. Wright. Only when I had lost everything could I make my decision..."

"...You're going to turn yourself in?"

"My partner may have vanished, but not so my guilt. And as my guilt stays, all else begins to leave me. My friends...my performance rights...my magic. I've had enough of vanishing acts"
[Later]
"You see, now that I think about it...I realize that I, no...we never saw proof of her demise. We never saw her body.....I can only hope the day will come when I again meet my partner, Zak Gramarye"

I just played through that part again and I choked up a little

I'll blame the lack of sleep lately since all my emotions are running wild and I wear my heart upon my sleeve for daws to peck at when I'm tired: one single tear was shred when I was thinking about Godot, not playing per se, but watching bits and pieces from the game on youtube. I'm not even competely sure why, it's a combination of a lot of pretty damn random things, everything from

Spoiler: 3-5
his knife wound (???) to the quote about the blood that "must be his tears" since he can't see red on white.

And then I read the following on tv-tropes, about Blackquill:

Spoiler:
Creepy Shadowed Under Eyes: According to the official visual book, they are there because he cried a lot in prison and never bothered to wipe his tear streaks.

...and got even more emotional. :sadshoe:

Seems I'm in the minority since Ace Attorney games are the only games that can make me cry in a long time. Another reason why I'm weird I guess, my taste in drama's just too much different from anyone else. Turnabout Goodbyes in particular I must say has the most emotionally powerful scenes in video game history.

It's kinda weird. I'm the type of person who cries upon finishing basically any game or manga with a semi-decent story, but I just don't think I cried because of Ace Attorney at all. 1-5 made me sad, though...

I rarely cry.
When Mia died, I was more like: "No. No. No! WHY!!!!!!"
And during the endings, I find myself smiling or staring at the screen blankly (if it's a bad ending)
Every time that "Scars Carved by Fire" sounds, I shiver.
But the first time I listened to "Reminiscence~ Tragic Memories" as a soundtrack (without playing) now THAT made me cry.

I got incredibly moved when watching GK2 case 3, and Shigaraki says the following: "It breaks my heart even now... that I didn't return home with [Gregory] that day. And what's more, to blind myself from my own worthlessness... Uncle Ray put all of his hatred on you, as a traitor for being von Karma's pupil. ...I'm sorry." (I, uhm, wished that he didn't say Uncle Ray at that moment, but what can one do.)
