A few notes: * The case features roughly 8-10 hours of content. * You absolutely need the newest version of PyWright (version 0.989, included with Conflict of Interest), otherwise the user interface will not work properly! * There is a strange and inconsistent bug that has been reported in which characters suddenly disappear altogether from court sections. It usually happens when you save and reload too often. To fix this, simply restart PyWright and load at an earlier save. * There is an examine spot during the investigation seemingly hidden behind the 'Back' button. Unfortunately, there's not much I could do there. It's still fairly visible on the top screen, though, so you should be able to get through the section without much issue. * Which also brings me to another point -- please play in dual screen. Mainly for some interface details.
Premise Taking place several months after the events of Spirit of Justice, Phoenix finds himself alone when he takes a rather strange -- and extremely hopeless case. With an uncooperative defendant, a staggering amount of evidence supporting the police's case, and a prosecutor that clearly has it in for him, how will Phoenix turn things around? Is there even any room for doubt?
Where does the truth lie?
In the hearts of the key players, all with their own secrets and motives?
Between the trees of the dense forest, the scene of a horrific murder?
Or perhaps, in the mythical city of gold that seems to be the connecting factor between the strange circumstances of the case -- El Dorado?

Accepted. Along with kwando from AAO. I think I'll be accepting one more beta-tester. If there's no interest, though, I think two should work out just as well.

For a brief moment, I thought this was a crossover case with The Road to El Dorado.
Given that my fondness for crossovers has dropped quite significantly over the years, the chances were low to begin with, I'm afraid. That and I have very little memory of the movie.

I am also interested in helping out, may not be able to help much but would be glad to try and contribute some testing
Alright. Given the lack of other applicants, in the interest of moving things along, you'll be the third tester. (Actually the fourth because y'know them S E C R E T beta-testers and their cooky ways.)

Re: [PyWright] A Turnabout To El Dorado (Testing In Progress
I can honestly say, DWaM, this sure was not what I was expecting when you mentioned you had a case in mind.
Did you expect a fanfic? (I still say a DWaM VS Jakkid166 collab is a great idea.)
Also DWaM if that "speedzoom" bg isn't sped up, and gets flipped whenever Phoenix uses it this case gets thrown in the garbage as a worse case than 2-1. You've been warned, friend.

A Jakkid DWaM case would literally be the most convoluted nonsense ever.

Yeah, I assumed it was just a coincidentally similar name to moment I saw who made the thread, which was approximately half a second after I read the title.
I'll be sure to check this case out in the future, if I ever have time to do anything again.
A couple of notes: * You absolutely need the newest version of PyWright (version 0.989, included with Conflict of Interest), otherwise the user interface will not work properly! * Music does not loop. I can't exactly claim it's intentional -- it's just something I honestly have no skill, time or effort to do. If anyone wants to do it, they are welcome to, of course. But just wanted to point out it's not a bug. * There is a strange and inconsistent bug that has been reported in which characters suddenly disappear altogether from court sections. To fix this, simply reload from an earlier save, before experiencing the issue, and that should fix it. Save often just in case, though! * There is an examine spot during the investigation seemingly hidden behind the 'Back' button. Unfortunately, there's not much I could do there. It's still fairly visible on the top screen, though, so you should be able to get through the section without much issue. * Which also brings me to another point -- please play in dual screen. I hope you enjoy!

Re: [PyWright] A Turnabout To El Dorado (Part 1 Released!)
Just not all of them, as it seems I misspelled 'label' for the label for 'other' evidence. Oh, well. Not a major issue, either way. Will be fixed in the next release.

Re: [PyWright] A Turnabout To El Dorado (Part 1 Released!)
Thanks to the efforts of Spybreak001, the game will have a properly looped soundtrack after all!
This will be included in an update that will come along after a bigger majority of people have played through it and have the inevitable bugfixes and such.

Re: [PyWright] A Turnabout To El Dorado (Part 1 Released!)
This is a pleasant surprise. I'm gonna wait until everything is released, or else this case will be stuck in my head for months considering how complicated DWAM cases always are.

Someone should put like... Geoff Keighley in and call it "A Turnabout to El Doritos"
Re: [PyWright] A Turnabout To El Dorado (Part 1 Released!)
Theory no. 1: Adam & Eve are definitely NOT working together. Adam was outright encouraging us to investigate this case more, while Eve did the exact opposite. She even tried to bribe Nick to drop it.
Theory no. 2: Regarding Eve's client, there are only two people we know that it could've been: Lex himself (who might not have died after all) or Lex's father, seeking vengeance for his son.
Theory no. 3: The child Victoria bears may only be Lucas' (unless DWaM decides to throw in a curveball down the road). And I believe this may have been the thing that made them break up: Lucas has been putting everything in regarding the research on El Dorado. And it's clear he wanted Vic to go with him too. But... that's not really a safe enviroment for a pregnant woman or a child to be in, is it?
PS.
Spoiler: DWaM Bingo
Oh, and BTW, I stole this from BP and and nothing you can do to me, bwahaha:
Feel free to copy and fill it, have fun!

Spoiler:
Profanity, Pretty custom graphics and of course grimdark seem lika a given already...Phoenix's or Apollo's life being in shambles seems unlikely given what the case is about. I'm too lazy to talk about all of the other stuff right now.

Re: [PyWright] A Turnabout To El Dorado (Part 1 Released!)
Spybreak has already looped the ones for this part, as I've mentioned earlier. Still, I'll keep your offer in mind for future reference, should it be necessary. I appreciate it.

Ah, I hadn't read all of the posts and only looked at the first one.
There hasn't been an update mainly because there's no update to give. I've done no real progress due to my real life obligations, as I suggested I wouldn't. It will pick up soon-ish, but until then, I simply have nothing to show.
Interest seems to be somewhat low anyway, so I don't think I'm at too bad of a position when it comes to slacking a bit behind.
I do intend to have it done by the end of the summer overall, but I make no promises.

Re: [PyWright] A Turnabout To El Dorado (Part 1 Released!)
True, but the interest in AA cases is usually silent majority, so there's probably hundreds of people who are anticipating it, due to the view count :P
Re: [PyWright] A Turnabout To El Dorado (Part 1 Released!)
I agree. Despite the seemingly low interest, a lot of people are looking forward to the next part. Personally, I have been checking this topic every day since your first post. I've played all your cases and I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. So, I can't wait to see how this particular story unfolds.
