Hi A while back now I was on youtube and I was looking for a certain song and I found it made with the videos from WOLF'S RAIN and I was totally WOWED....
I'm just a little behind the times as it came out a while back but it is the best animation (series or whatever I should call it) That I have ever seen!
So I saved and brought the collection from Ebay but since have been on the forums and found them empty :(

It is kind of a complicated story to explain but it is REALLY well made and I'm totally into it...does anyone else watch this or know of any similar series?
Here are some pictures aren't they just amazing? xxx

Worst. Ending. Ever.

Worst. Mid-Season. Ever.

Epic Beginning. If they had kept it up, that show could've been so much more than it was. What an idiotic cop-out. "Oh, screw the plot. Philosophy is better!"

You think the characters were great? Can't argue with you there. That only made the ending even worse.
I can handle it when everyone dies at the end, but there were so many deaths that were absolutely pointless, it felt like Space Runaway Ideon all over again.
I watched it when it aired on Adult Swim. It was alright, I suppose. It had a rather nice beginning, but I got bored around the middle and started losing interest closer to the end. The ending could've been a lot better, as I recall.

I loved that show. The OAV's were a bit of a turn down, but the ending wasn't so bad.
Spoiler:
I mean--not every anime can have a happy ending... :/

Anyway. similar anime style to Wolf's Rain would be...

Cowboy Bebob
Paranoia Agent
Samurai Champloo
Blood +
Ghost in the Shell
...Trinity Blood?

That's all I can name so far.

The middle of the series really dragged, but it started great and I'm a big fan of the ending. I know not many people are but I love a good tragedy.

And...come on, you had to have seen it coming.

My favorite was Hubb. I just wanted to hug him through the entire thing.

Tragedies are fine when pulled off well, but a never-ending cycle of suck just isn't my idea of a gush-worthy tragedy. Detective Gumshoe

I haven't seen it in a long time.

Like when I was 11.

I had to explain the meaning behind the "WE ARE ALL DED LOL" ending to my friends though. -.-

I've watched that series and I LOVED it! It was one of the best, saddest series I had seen at that moment and it was really worth all that cash to buy!
I would reccomend Saikano for a depressing anime, not too similar to WR, but really very good. A more light hearted one which then becomes a bit depressing is Fullmetal Alchemist.

Depressing? Fullmetal Alchemist? Haha. Haha. Nah, not at all. Fullmetal Alchemist got awful once the whole "man, what're we doing with our lives? We suck..." theme rolled in. To quote Kenji on 90% of his anime opinions: the manga's better.
