So, when will the winners be announced? So that I can tell my friend:

:holdit:

... don't pre-order it! I won the contest and giving it to you since that you can't think of anything at all. About you thinking of what to produce for the contest, of course. I mean, SERIOUSLY. IT'S FOR YOU.

And the address of the person is only obtained when the Admins contact the person via e-mail (yes, I don't have the mailing address of the aforementioned CR member)

This is all I want to ask.

"The idea is simple: take a character or characters from the first 3 Ace Attorney games and show us what you think they're doing 7 years after T&T in as creative and humorous a way as possible. Submissions can be in the form of fanart, sprites, comics, flash, or anything else visual (sorry, no text-only submissions will be accepted)."

Two words.

WHY.

NOT.

... because text-only effort is pretty much the same like replying to the forums.

And....

Text-only entries would take longer time to be judged when compared with the ones presented visually. Hope that answers your question.

As Croik said it earlier, the contest is not about how good your artwork is. Just give it a try with MS Paint is already good enough.

Yes, because I'm sure some piece of crap doodle in MS Paint is going to win the prize. I should be able to have a decent shot at a contest because of skills I've already spent my life honing. I apologize for practicing the wrong skill for the past 10 years.

Whatever, forget it. I can tell my kind aren't welcome here.

My point here is, NO MATTER HOW YOU THINK "MY KIND AREN'T WELCOME HERE" you just submit your attempt. Who are you to misjudge the Admins as to 'not welcome your kind' in the contest?! Like, you can't simply assume they won't accept your entry~

All I'm saying is I'm offended by the whole "WRITING IS NOT ALLOWED IT TAKES NO EFFORT LOL" statement. It's so blatantly untrue and unfair to people like me. All I can do is write. I've tried so many other things and failed at every single one. That's MY point.

I just feel offended at the suggestion that writing takes no effort. Good writing takes just as much effort as drawing.

Dude, no offense, but.........you're taking this WAY to personally. I seriously doubt that they were sitting around a table in a dark room going, "Yes, let us devise a way to isolate and piss off all the writers in this forum!" The reason they don't allow written entries, is because A. Some people would write horribly long entries, and would thus take up more time, and B. I think they want the entries to be visually funny. They want people to, for the most part, understand what's going on at first glance, which is something that's hard to do with a text-only entry. Now, I understand that you're upset, and you have a right to be. But as far as the "Point" you were trying to make, no. No one is insulting writing, writers, or you, for that matter.

Hey, no offense, but don't be such a drama whore. "People like you"? Several of the admins on this very forum are fanfic authors, you know.

The reason text-only entries are not allowed is because I didn't want to have to judge a hundred entries made up of one or two lines of "What if Gumshoe became a dog walker, lol!" or the like. A concept is not the same as a product. And if full fanfiction were allowed, it would have to be judged by a completely different set of criteria than the visual categories. How do you judge a 20 page fic that's witty but maybe not hilarious to a 5 second MS Paint doodle that makes people crack up laughing instantly?

There are too many different kinds of things allowed for this contest for me to judge categories individually and award each the same prize, and they can't really be judged against each other. It's just that simple. It has nothing to do with writing being easier or harder than anything else.

If you believe writing to be your main talent, then you're welcome to submit an entry for the Original Character contest when we hold it again this spring, which does have a fanfiction category.

Okay okay, lemme see if I can answer all the questions:

Flash is allowed, and yes, you can use the game's music and sprites. Remember, the concept is more important than the execution.

If you win but don't want the prize, you can't nominate someone else instead. That's for the Judges to decide. But if you win you can always just accept the prize and then send it to that person yourself. I'm not going through your mail :P

Speaking of judges...that would be Wooster and me! Plus anyone from the mod-squad who isn't participating. Mods can enter, but don't think for a second it'll get you extra points! Of course, entering means you can't judge.

If you've already won a CR contest in the past, you can still win here. The only other contests we've had are the OC contest, the PYP, and the Godot Mug Hunt, which I think are different enough that we shouldn't have any overlap in ideas anyway.

Additionally, winning this contest will not disqualify you from entering future contests.

Entries do not *have* to be humorous. Creativity and uniqueness are more important. But...we do like a giggle :D

I'll update the rules with a few of these. Anything else?

EDIT: OH! And you don't have to send me your address until you win.

I has an idea... but I need to know, being ignorant to everything beginning with A and ending with merican:

1.a) Do you have traffic wardens in the US of A (as in people who ticket you for parking in the wrong place)?

1.b) If yes, are they the hatred of your nation's drivers, as they are in England?

1.c) If the answer to either of the above is no, what occupation in the USA is hated most by the general public? (Excluding Police, Lawyers and Dustbin Men and any well paid jobs [I wasn't including bin men in the well paid jobs category, before you saay anything])

Thanks, you'll see why when I enter... if it works. :D
