Web dev speak: .htaccess, PHP, filename prefixes, FastCGI, Apache, mod_fcgi.

These had various problems, and combined temporarily lead to the forums WSODing (White Screen O' Death).

So there.

Also of note is that Slippy has a fiance' in Command.

Therefore, we can assume that she was a lesbian and had a sex change, perhaps gay marriage is a no-no in the Lylat System.

I like Starfox too. But this isn't a discussion about Starfox (however much I wish it was... man, I haven't played a Starfox game since SF64!).

OK: this is kinda a double post, but it's on a different subtopic then ma post above, so here goes:

Those of you getting 500's constantly, that should now be fixed. DH was apparently killing the FastCGI dispatcher, and not even a cron job that restarts them every 2 minutes could work around that. So now it goes straight to the FastCGI PHP exe, instead of via the dispatcher.

But what does this mean for CR forums?
Well - now we're on FastCGI proper, caching of PHP bytecodes now works properly - meaning that the server has to do less work compiling them!
It also means that pages should load faster anyways. So goodie good.

The Scanalators were people who were in charge of scanning certain things back in the day.
I think they had the ability to upload stuff directly to the site.
