Mieeeeeegoooooo....
It's so sad, but to me it seems like they did mean a lot to each other, and that they must have had a really good relationship... but I really, really like that little snippet we got to see of their interaction with each other. I loved the way she reacted to him, like that the airs he put on didn't impress her, but she cared about him, and I love the way he kind of sees her more as "Mia" than as just another girl. It's one of those couples I like both because they actually work well together and because they have a great story... and there I go blah blah blah.
There you have it, Miego's so awesome it makes me go blah blah blah.

Yay, a Miego thread that's still alive!

i'm starting up my own fanfic on the pairing, although it's one of those cutesy/funny stories that may get flamed for slight non-cannon because it features a 13 year old Maya who's convinced Diego can't be trusted on the romantic level...

I know, it's a cheesy concept, but it's meant to be funny anyways and my friend is just too motivating about the whole thing. I could post it up here if anyone is actually interested...?

Damn it, WallofIllusion ... You already did a dang good version of the "Mia kisses Godot's blind eyes"-idea which came to my mind too - So I kinda refuse to make the pic on my own, I don't want to look like a copypaster or something. I hope you can approve to that I use the same motive, yeah?

Anyways, I love this couple very much, it combines two awesome characters (and "awesome" means, in this case, "awesome in every way, may it be body or personality"), is canon (which makes it easier to find reasons for happening in fanfics and the like) and, uh ... it's awesome!

Also thanks to everybody who puts pics in here. Very kind of you and it motivates me to throw some self-drawn stuff in! :godot:

Make it anyway! :igarashi: I wouldn't be offended at all, and I'd love to see another take on it. Besides, after having the idea in my mind for a while, I was finally inspired to get off my butt and draw it by a similarly-themed Phoenix x Godot picture which, though I don't like the couple much, was a dang pretty picture.
Also, thanks! <3

That's the problem with the whole channeling stuff. I see it like that:
She CAN be present with her whole mind, talk to you etc., so her mind and her soul aren't dead. And if her mind and her soul and blah are still alive, Mia as a person also is still alive (once she's been channeled) - Which means that, assumed that she still loves him, is also still his girlfriend.

She's his one true love of course Oh the corniness. And yet, I'm totally serious... OTL

But I think that is a really interesting question with Mia--to what extent does she actually count as dead? Given the chance to interact with Mia through channeling, would Diego do so? (I mean this in a totally non-sexual way, because that just opens up a whole other can of worms.) And just what are the moral/emotional implications if they continue to meet as if she were still alive?
These are the kind of things I think about when I should be doing homework kind of like right this very instant.

The way I see it she's dead on the mortal coil yet still kicking around with all the other souls/ghosts/angels/whatever, just with a better option of manifesting herself to the living available to her through her sister's channeling.

Other ghosts usually have to wait for people to take out Ouija boards to get their point across.

As for the moral implecations of Mia using said channeling powers to meet frequently with Diego: it takes time away from Maya's own time on earth. For example: even if they were only to meet 3 hours a week, that would be 3 hours x 4 weeks x 12 months = 144 hours that Maya wouldn't get to 'live' for herself every year. Of course Maya probably wouldn't care and be up for it anyways, but what about Mia and Deigo?

Also the fact that deep down it isn't really Mia but Maya acting as her telephone of sorts from the other side risks always being at the back of their heads, making it awkward andwhat not.

But again, I see Maya as the type of person who wouldn't care as long as they didn't do anything she wouldn't approve on.

Maybe they'd have a written contract...

Well, I would say that Maya would be fine with granting her sister some time of the week to meet with Diego. We remember, the two sisters have a strong bond and help out each other frequently, so that wouldn't be the problem.

And I also believe that the awkwardness of the whole thing (Mia isn't REALLY there, she's "just" being channeled by her sister, so it's not really Mia in person and blah) would vanish with the time. Given that Mia and Diego are still really in love, they would be able to mostly overlook the channeling issue since it still counts that they can meet and such.

I believe that the biggest problem is still the fact that Diego is in prison, therefor he's not allowed to see Mia so often anyways.
But hey, at least that makes sure that Maya's body doesn't get used for ... *cough* ... dirty stuff.

I agree with both of you that Maya would have absolutely no problem with channeling Mia for Diego, and I agree particularly with Tarot that the real uneasiness comes on Mia and Diego's side, worrying about taking time away from Maya.
But I suppose what really makes me wonder is Diego's take on it all. Maybe this is just me, but Whenever I try to think about it from his perspective, I'm struck by a paralyzing indecision: he wants to be able to see Mia, more than anything, but at the same time (when I imagine it), he feels like he needs to accept her death to be able to move on. In 3-5 he pretty much says his inability to accept her death is how he got so screwed up. oO; I also wonder if he's not all that comfortable with the idea of channeling? But that's mainly because it frustrates me that rather than becoming a prosecutor he didn't just go ask Maya to channel Mia for him in the first place. D:

Buuuuuuuut most of those comments originate from my head canon, so I'm not sure how relevant any of it is. :yogi:

In that sense I think Mia would be uncomfortable with it too, also thinking Godot needs to move on in his life and frequent visists would just prevent him to heal. That and Mia seems to only use the opportunity to get channeled for proffessional lawyer buisness and not for personal matters, so it might go against her ethics on the matter. For all we know there could be a rule in the Kurain Spirit Chanelling Technique stating to not use it for personal affairs.

But on the flip-side, maybe they'd just feel like waiting for Godot to reach the after-life in his own due time and reunite there. Spirit Channeling pretty much proves there's a form of after-life in the PW universe, it's just a matter of knowing wether the deceased can actually seek out and interact amongst themselves...
