I agree that we should consider whether Manfred really is a main character. He only appeared in one case. Furthermore, a few points that need to be edited:
As somebody said before, Oldbag is in the third game and ties for second most game appearances.
This is a stretch, but if you consider the figure at the bottom right of the screen in Sunshine Coliseum in 4-3 and 4-4 to be Larry, he ties for second most game appearances.
I believe Shadi Enigmar was the oldest defendant. According to Court Records, he is 46 years old, so whether he was a defendant at this age, or the age of seven years younger, he is still older than Phoenix.
Magnifi Gramarye was the oldest victim. I suppose you could say that he isn't, seeing as he committed suicide, but he was considered a victim as far as the law is concerned. Besides, I bet Zak really murdered him, regardless of what Valant tells you. But if you do consider him to be the killer, that would make him the oldest killer at 67.
This might be a stretch, but I'd say that Dahlia caused her own death. If she didn't kill Doug, she wouldn't have died.
Gumshoe appears in 13 cases. 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, 3-5, 4-4. One way to look at it is that there are 18 cases, and Gumshoe is absent in the five you listed.
As I said before, Phoenix is in all 18 cases.
I just remembered, if you don't like my theory that Phoenix was accused of murder in 4-4, and you want to include a second place, we have Edgeworth in 1-4 and 1-5, and Larry in 1-1 and 3-5. Both of those are small stretches, but they were still murder accusations.
I'm not sure about the term "caused the most deaths", because Morgan gave birth to Dahlia, and might be considered the cause of it all. Ami Fey founded the Kurain Channeling Technique, and could be considered the cause of the blood feud, resulting in Dahlia's crimes. Grossberg could be considered a cause of Mia's death, because he sold DL-6 information to Redd White, resulting in Mia becoming a lawyer and pursuing White. There are too many ways the phrase "cause" a death could be used to implicate people.
Dahlia might not have killed Valerie in 3-4. There was no decisive proof against her. Therefore, the youngest murderer was Dahlia at age 20, when she killed Doug.
Didn't Joe Darke cause the most deaths? He killed four people, and he was the cause of Neil's and Goodman's murder, as well as his own execution. Might be a stretch, but you did say "cause" the most deaths. So that was 7, compared to Dahlia causing Valerie, Terry, Doug, herself, and Misty to die for a total of five. I don't count Diego because he is not dead, although you might be able to count him if he was executed after 3-5. Although, if you're really nitpicky about it, you might say Joe did not kill the first four people in the SL-9 files, since there was no proof against him. Actually, another argument could be that Phoenix caused the most deaths, just like Gumshoe said. "Sometimes, I wonder if he's the cause of all these incidents!" So that would make Phoenix first place, at a total of 18 deaths. (That was a joke.)
This is even more of a stretch, but you could say Dahlia was the youngest victim at 12. There was no proof that Terry didn't kill Dahlia. Mia presented the possibility and then Edgeworth said who the witness was, but there was nothing proving that was Dahlia. It could have even been Iris. Since it was not proven, then as far as the law is concerned, Dahlia is dead.
Wow. I'm really tired of typing. Hope I've been helpful, despite being a bit nitpicky.
