I talked to my friend about it and she said she doesn't like him that way and that I shouldn't worry, so hopefully nothing's going on with him.
The main reason I dislike the idea of telling him about this is that I rarely see him alone and so it would have to be via text which seems very impersonal. I also have tried to get information out of him in the past (i.e what he thinks about us) and he never gives me a straight answer (even with really small things, like asking what band he would want to see live if we went to a gig).

Well, it was mutual in the end. We talked it over and decided that it would be best, as we both wanted different things from the relationship.
I'm staying as his friend though because we get along really well. I think one of the main reasons we broke up is he doesn't seem to want a proper relationship (more something casual and uncommitted) and I want something meaningful.

And I know how you feel: I had two long distance relationships, the second was a real, uhm, stupid love story, but the first was my first love, he loved me from the other side and we were going to meet in a few weeks (he's five years older than me and he already works... worked, 'cause now he's workless), when my parents looked into my cellphone and read all my messagges. You can imagine all the mess: they nearly called the police, because they taught he was a pedophile. And so on... then, I had a "normal" relationship, known as a, uhm, "womanizer", but it's a false fame, because he's one of the most loyal boys I ever knew (lots of girls betrayed him and then said he's the betrayer.... trust me, I saw all of this with my own eyes). But after two months, we had an argument that we could solve by ourselves, but my mother wanted, juts as the idiot she is, that we broke up for a stupid argument...
I decided to not to share my heart with anyone, until I'll be 18: I'm planning to take a little flat for myself for the last year I'll stay year, and then move to Venice (or another city where there's an Asian languages university...).

He seriously offered me $50 and that's when I realized that he wasn't joking... On another note, here a little summary of what happened to me several weeks ago:
Went to a birthday party -> danced with and hugged some cute guy -> he gave me his cell phone number, I gave him mine -> he wanted more, so I rejected him -> I was tired, so I lay down somewhere -> he got quite drunk -> he locked himself up in the shower room and passed out
Guess what, he never called me back, haha....

Well, for the last week of us dating he basically acted like he hated me, so it's just confusing that he'd say he cared about me being happy. I just told him that I appreciated that he'd said that but I didn't really believe him.

Yeah, I was surprised too. Especially at my age (It started when I was 13, and I'm almost 17), relationships like that are hard to keep. I'm hoping I'll find someone that was right for me like him, but lasts a whole lot longer.

Because I don't like drama and week long relationships. That's just worthless. My age has little to do with relationships, I think. The length of a relationship really doesn't matter, it all matters what goes on between the beginning and the end.

oooh that explains it! Real relationships are crazy, you have to actually go out and do stuff (I didn't realise this when I agreed to date someone, needless to say he was put out). You also have to...spend time together D: (Good if your partner likes playing video games and watching films, bad if they want to go out and get drunk).
