This is just something that has been bouncing around in my head for a little while now, and I'd like some input from other fans of the Ace Attorney games.

At the end of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Kristoph's downfall came only due to jurist system that Phoenix implemented in order to have him convicted. We all remember this, correct? Well, here is a hypothetical scenario that I've been thinking about.

What if Kristoph never took Apollo under his wing? What if after being disbarred, Phoenix just gave up? What if Miles Edgeworth was around at the time of Kristoph's killings, and had him arrested for the murder of Shadi Enigmar? Now, with that being said, without the jurist system being implemented, how would Edgeworth, with all of his logic, be able to convict Kristoph of his second crime of poisoning Drew Misham? And let's say for the sake of argument, Kristoph disposed of the letter Misham mailed to him.

Please, your feedback would be appreciated.

He'd probably have to prove that Kristoph knew about the secret passageway (assuming it was private knowledge) but really it's probably impossible without Phoenix seeing as he forged the vital evidence that Kristoph could just leave with and no one would ever know.

Hell Edgeworth's investigative style typically requires he is there at the time of the incident so he can be on the scene ASAP before evidence or witnesses can leave. I can't think of any reason why he'd be at the Borscht Bowl Club after hours so Kristoph would leave privately and Phoenix would go to jail.

That said, you say 'Phoenix just gave up' but I doubt he would considering if he failed he'd go to jail.

You thought you could be safe in your courts, with your laws and attorneys to protect you. In this world only I am law, my word is fact, my power is absolute.
