Hello, ladies and gentlemen. First post on the forum, with something to present!
I've been working on the idea for a Phoenix Wright fangame for a while now, since I harbor quite a bit of love for this series.
Needless to say I want to make sure everyone likes what they see before anything gets released.
But that's beside the point. I'll explain the things about the game, and then, you're free to cross-examine me if necessary!
Phoenix Wright: Highspeed Turnabout! This project, for now, is just a single case (or turnabout) which may be expanded upon later into 4-5 ones if the reception of this
case is well recieved, which, ofcourse, is what we're (the team) hoping for. This is not a remake or whatever, but an actual
'would-be-canon' entry into the series, taking place two years after the events of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney,
two months after the events of Justice For All, and four months before the events of Trials and Tribulations.
Highspeed Murder Mystery! As if you hadn't guessed, this murder mystery takes place on a highway in the middle of the night. I'll try to present this as, well, 'eluded' as possible,
since all the intro-murder-scenes of Phoenix Wright are somewhat mysterious. For good reason, as you may all know.
Two cars pass next to eachother, one crashes, and a few moments later a gunshot is heard.
One man grunts to the other, "Where is the other one?", where the frame skips and a short conversation is heard between two people.
One of them gets stabbed repeatedly! This, as Phoenix himself realises once things pick up, is the first time he's dealt with a double homicide.
Ofcourse, he can't really count the events that happened during the fifth case for Ace Attorney for several reasons.
The next day opens in the Wright & Co. Law Offices as we see a somewhat more depressed Phoenix. He's on a five-trial losing streak,
and just doesn't seem to be able to catch a break. And what with one mysterious phone call, Phoenix is tossed right back into the big melodrama
he hasn't experienced for quite a while, maybe even his biggest yet. This might just be exactly what he needs!
Features!* Big, mysterious and twistalicious storyline, just as you'd expect from a Phoenix Wright game!
* There's talk of the defendant being up against one of the best and most ruthless prosecutors in the business. Who is it?
* Original locations and characters make this a fresh experience for Phoenix Wright fans!
* Gameplay intact! Examine the crimescenes, present evidence and profiles to people, talk to people about various subjects
and go nuts in court!
* Pysche-Lock system will not make an appearance in this game, as I felt it was too bothersome in Justice for All. Ofcourse,
this is my opinion, feel free to disagree, plead a good 'case for it', and I might think about re-adding it!
* Numerous characters will make a re-appearance! Although this will not be a surprise to any of you. XD
* Home-made remixed soundtrack! Refreshed the music of Phoenix Wright to make this feel like a new entry into the series, rather than a basic fangame. Which is still is ofcourse, but the extra effort won't go to waste!
* And more!
Screenshots!Probably the most important aspect of this topic! :D
First off I had to take some liberties as far as interface is concerned, because, well, RM2K3 isn't dual screen. And I didn't want it as basic as the GBA versions. So I took an original approach. Screenshots don't do the animation or sound justice (There's a lot of it!), since the characters do speak while text is being displayed ánd the trademark text bleeping is present as well.
Can't have a game without a title screen. All this does is present you with the option to choose new game,
but should this game grow in cases there will be a classic continue button allowing you to jump in to any
case previously cleared.
High above the city, there are always evil deeds being done.
Mysterious knife plunging! And quite a grudge as well.
Maya... where would I be without you?
Finalized interface, to use, simply use the numpad buttons
that are "pointing" towards them. For example, the top left hotkey
would be numpad 7.
The talk screen. Topics that have been discussed, as in the
original, will be checked so that you are aware of the things you've
done.Extra's and Closing notesThat's all for now. Courtroom drama-screenshots will be added soon, but along with Phoenix and Maya I'd much rather
leave the shock of who the prosecutor is for you when you play it. I'll release a demo as soon as the first court day
(and with that, the first day of investigation) is complete so that you can judge the game properly and let me know
where the kinks are and stuff like that, before I move on.
This game is still ofcourse heavily in development, and as such I would like to formally ask any help we could get from the spriters/andor artworkers that are in the forum, since you are all extremely talented from what I've seen so far. If you have interest, please feel free to let me know! All I have left to present to you, is, a track we've made for the game that remixes the lovely themesong for the Turnabout Sisters' and a small video.
The theme remix is aptly named Turnabout Sisters Theme 2007.

see a game like this in motion. Hope you enjoy!

Hope you like the idea, and if I misplaced this topic then I apologize upfront, I figured this was the best place to post the topic.
Greetings,
- Infinity Entertainment!
Mr. Wright.
