In iTunes, you'll see that your iPod appears on the left hand navigation, and any sort of files and folders that are in the ipod also appear under the ipod icon/name in that navigation.
You add playlist folders to your ipod like you add them to itunes in general. To make sure that the folder goes into your ipod, select the ipod icon/name thats in the navigation, then go down and click on the little icon at the bottom that has the + sign inside of a box. I think when your mouse goes over that button it should say Add New Playlist
Then, liek magik, a new folder will appear under your ipod icon thing that will have the untitled folder name highlighted, just type in what you want the playlist to be called, and viola. To add songs, just drag them into that folder rather then the ipod icon, and you will have files in a playlist!
iTunes on the Dell crapped out so I can't use it to see or make screencaps for you (I'm so sad I can't update my ipod while I'm here *cries*) ... When I get back home in a week I could do that then, but I think you can figure it out from the text, its fairly simple.
