Nononooooooooo.

Insho, you've been one of the most supportive people here. I can't thank you(and everyone else!)enough. I mean...I may sound like a broken record [again], but I can't express my feelings of gratitute with text.

.....So I have some really good news and some really bad news.

The good news is that I think I got my scanner working again! :D

The bad news is that this comic might not be finished by my deadline......However, I'll try to finish it up to the fullest that I can. I might even be able to work on it during boarding school!

Thank you, ~n! That means a lot, considering the circumstances and how amazing this story is (which we all kinda "lived," making it quite memoric!).
EDIT: Also, I would think that you have done a great job of expressing your gratitude in your art!

That is reality for ya!

Probably the most important thing I can ever tell you: Don't worry about finishing by a deadline, or else you will begin to rush. The most important thing to do when making a story is to take your time, do the best you can at your own pace, and worry more about quality rather than speed.
Great book writers finish their debut books on their own time, take as long as they want, and do what they can to make each part as good as they can before they worry about getting it published.

Same idea here, just take your time and have fun! :butzthumbs:

Never sacrifice Quality of work for a deadline... As strange as that may seem to sound, it's true... The one thing you wouldn't want to have to do, is make a Lesser-Quality Page, and have the knowledge in mind that you "Could Have Done Better"...

We know that the work you do is very high-quality, we all agree to that. If there is some reason why you might be unable to finish by the deadline, we all understand, amigo! Don't fear that you may upset us, what MATTERS is your own health and well-being, and being over-stressed is very bad, ese!

We understand if you aren't able to finish it, and we can't blame you for it either: You appear to have been hit with some relatively bad luck as of late. No one could have predicted the scanner would have problems, ese! If you CAN'T finish it, it's alright!

Just bring us back some cookies after whatever is occuring when the deadline is reached, occurs. :yummy:

A perfect example of taking the time to do something:

I had been working on an avatar to commemorate my upcoming round as a GM in the VG Mafia game (specifically, the Megaman ZX Advent themed round, my third claimed round). I wanted it something special, and so I set myself to work between the times I have my job and when I am busy. I used sprited from the game, as well as the free trial of EASY GIF Animator, and it took me a long time before I managed to get all the pieces both together and to flow correctly.
Image

The only catch is that regardless of how long I took, it is hardly anything to brag of in it's current state.

My goal was to get it moving (literally) and so I did. I had hoped to get it in before I died this VG round (actually, before the round started, but it came kinda quickly), and I had the chances to do so, but at the cost of a shaky spinning-bit, so I took my time, and now it flows smoothly. Next I will add some color and effects, but for now, it is good enough.

I'm sorry the comic pages aren't being uploaded, but I just wish my darn scanner would work...

...I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish it. I estimated the final page amount at 30, but I'm not even halfway there...

I'm sorry to let you down. And I know "sorry" doesn't do anything, but I don't know how else to convey how apologetic and absolutely horrible and powerless I feel for letting my comic stop dead. I mean, this is yet another project for me that just never made it...

I wish there was something I could do to make it up to you all--you've been so supportive, and so nice...I couldn't have had it better. I can't thank you all enough, I mean, even the casual readers or people who just took a glance are appreciated. I usually don't get a lot of attention when it comes to things I drew or wrote or thought up, and this isn't even an "original" idea having been based off of something already existing, so...Everything that has happened within these few months has really blown me away.

Speaking of which...I keep looking back and thinking, "Wow, I can't believe this has stretched on this long!" If I had kept up with all of the release dates, I'm certain the comic would have been done by now, but unfortunately, I've shown myself that I can't do something like this. Actually, I told myself that this would be a challenge--a "test"--and I tried as hard as I could to finish it before the deadline(which is less than a week away), but unfortunately, I've failed. I've failed the comic, I've failed myself, I've failed everyone.

I don't expect you to reply, just to read. You can say anything you want after this post, but all in all, this was just another notification. As long as you've read this, I'm satisfied.

Thank you. Thank you so much.

You've hardly failed everyone, ~n. There's 11 (perhaps fourteen if all of Chapter 0 was in pages) brilliant comics up there, and if your scanner doesn't work, you've hardly failed. The art - in my opinion - is spectacular and even if you left it here, it's still eleven/fourteen brilliant pages up to enjoy. Even if it isn't original, you've managed to make it feel like it is entirely original, even the bits that were given to you by me feel completely fresh. In short, superb work, ~n. Absolutely superb.

Oh, Hai, just shush. You have not failed anyone. :P

You've started a wonderful thing, and you can always come back to it, can't you? It's not like your deadline is you being forever banned from the internet and CR altogether. You'll be back~

It's difficult to stick to schedules for any project, and a drawing project even more so [I draw too, so I should know] and you've done very well~ If you believe the end result would be about 30 pages, you've done a third of that! [not counting Chapter 0~] The only reason you haven't been able to update in a while is because technology is evil, right? Just relax. No one believes you've 'failed' them, I mean, this was a volunteered thing for you to do, so you didn't have to do anything at all, first of all. And second of all, you've done extremely well.

I agree with Allan~ Everything you've done so far is awesome! It's fun to read, and really well drawn. SO STOP BEATING YOURSELF UP ALREADY. Please? D:
It's far from over, and you're far from alone.

Oh, shush. You did eighteen elaborate pages with 22 different people and an intricate story in less than three months and racked up 10,152 views. That's hardy anything to scoff at, Hai.
Yeah, it wasn't original, but that kind of made it better, since we all were a part of this. It fleshed out holes in our gameplay experience and turned a little forum game played with people at keyboards into it's own sort of world. That's really cool.
From what I get, you seem pretty dedicated to all this. Even if you skipped an update, it got there. Your scanner crapped out, not your fault. I can wait until after you get back if you're still up to this thing. Whatever. You volunteered, after all.
And you could always blow off schoolwork and finish it at there :D

Oh, hush. =) You did AMAZING THINGS with this comic. The art is great, and somehow, even though we already know what happened in Round IV, you gave it this atmosphere of suspense. And I loved the little details, too, like the PM box and the Big Berry Circus tent. Not to mention the "WELCOME TO HELL!" picture, which is in at least 2 sigs around here.
Besides, it's not your fault technology is evil. You haven't failed anyone. Now go have fun at wherever you're going, and we'll wait for you. =)

I'd say "Don't say that, hush, etc.", but I think that would be redundant.

Point in being, everybody is right. You have not failed, and deadlines are pointless, especially when you are held back by something like a broken scanner. I said it before, but good art should not be held back by deadlines, but done at your own pace. Have fun, finish the job whenever, and just go for it! The worst possible thing you could do is quit, so don't do that!

Oh, and on another note, I hope you remember my promise... (Rabid-Weasel Anti-Emo Brigade! CHARGE!!!)

We certainly don't mind that it can't be finished in time, ESPECIALLY because of your broken scanner. Think instead of everything you did accomplish.

Now relax. We will all cheerfully await your eventual triumphant return from boarding school. :odoroki:

I love you all...You're just so amazing, everyone...I can't thank you enough!! :larry: :larry:

It absolutely blows me away, my god...I really wish I could give you all a billion :cookie: s and "thank you"s and the like. You're just so amazing, it's...it's really incredible.

But I just want you to know: right now, there are two Comic pages fully-drawn, and as soon as my scanner gets working again, I'll upload them straight away. Until then, I'll continue to work on the comic...And hopefully finish it at some point in time!

I don't know. I ask it to scan, it makes a bunch of beeping and machinery noises, then just kind of...sits there, doing nothing. :/

So, what is the verdict for yours? Is your scanner salvageable or repairable, or are you gonna toss it for another?
