Awesome, thanks for posting the screenshot, Biblio. It sucks that I see that the wallpaper doesn't quite fit your screen >__<;

The Trucy one makes me laugh. It's like Godzilla, but Trucyzilla instead. XD Good one.

I see how the second one looks like a murder mystery, too! :D
In the third one, that art of Phoenix is adorable. XD

My Christmas was indeed hectic (people flocked to the restaurant... it was so crowded that you could hardly move), but it wasn't too bad. :)
The next busy day will be New Year's Eve. x___x;

APT: Sure thing, will add to waitlist.
Could you possibly give me a link to the GS4 Promo art so I know which one you're referring to? Thanks a bunch.

Ralvor: Hey there, nice to see you again :) Thanks for the comments, you're a very nice person!
Haha, I have a signature that rotates images. I like my old signature still, but I also really like my new one, so I decided to keep both in rotation. ^___^

I'll be working on jlinnov's request next, then Balrog's shortly after.

Hey Vicki, great work so far.

As it is, I find it's time to get a new signature, being the new year coming around and all. So Here it goes.

Images: Image and Image (Not animated but I want a frame with her mouth open)
Text: Hey! LISTEN! (You can change the caps, puctuation however you want.
Colors: Lots of Golds and Blues, but throw in some purple to correspond with Maya.
Details/Extras: Go wild with this one, add whatever you'd like.

Happy Early New Year and thanks in advance! :D

Vicki, I'm not allowed. I'll be hotlinking to CR if I did >.>

Here's where it is:

    1. Go to the info section
    2. Head to the official art for AJ
    3. Its at the bottom. Its the "slightly cleaner" version of the GS4 promo art.

Its in the Miscellaneous section. Good luck on extracting Mr.Hobo Nick outta that one!

Percei: Sure! :]

APT: Hotlinking actually refers to direct linking to images and displaying them. I never want people to use IMG tags for when they post images in their post (because that's very bad for the original host), all I humbly request is a URL to the image. :) Posting a URL and using the IMG tag are different things, just to clear up some misconceptions.

It's not too difficult of an extraction, luckily.. the chains are annoying but I can blend that in with background elements. :)

Cutie: I'm very glad you like it! ^__^

---

In other updates, I'm 80-90% done with jlinnov's signature (finishing touches needed), and 70% done with Balrog's set.
Unfortunately I'll be occupied tomorrow with some family business, but I should be able to stop by at night.
Hope everyone's having a good weekend thus far. :)

Nah, it's fine. =) The black looks good with it, I think...

The Trucy one makes me laugh. It's like Godzilla, but Trucyzilla instead. XD Good one.
Haha. I didn't notice that =) It was a screenshot from the Girls of GS video...but you're right.

I see how the second one looks like a murder mystery, too! :D
I think it was Franziska, personally. She's throwing daggers at Maya WITH HER MIND. =0

In the third one, that art of Phoenix is adorable. XD
Which one? The chibi or the one with both assistants? I like it too. =)

My Christmas was indeed hectic (people flocked to the restaurant... it was so crowded that you could hardly move), but it wasn't too bad. :)
That's good (that it wasn't too bad.)

The next busy day will be New Year's Eve. x___x;
I was thinking about that at our 'Family Reunion Talent Show' tonight, and for some reason I thought "Oh, but that's so far away!"

Vicki, I would like to request a wallpaper please. However, before I do so what information do you need regarding the size of my monitor? I know it is 17 inches and LCD (not wide screen, just regular). I'm sure you need some other information, but what the information is labeled escapes me at the moment.

Well, my plans for today took an unexpected turn, so my entire week schedule is messed up. I'm not a happy camper.

---

APT: It seems like there's conflicting information about what constitutes hotlinking on different forums, because I checked with several people and most of them defined hotlinking as using IMG tags and *posting* the image directly from the host website, which would logically use up their bandwidth, more than it should.

However, on other websites, I was told that even posting a direct link to the media file is considered hotlinking, although making the image show up with IMG tags is more serious of a situation. So, your definition still applies, just not as serious as the other case.

Sorry 'bout that (and the possible confusion I've caused... damn multiple definitions!) :)

If anyone is doubtful about what constitutes hotlinking, you should still post a URL to the page of art (if it's on CR) and tell me where the image is located, like what APT did. It helps a bunch instead of telling me, "giev me a pheenix and mia pictur." (No one's actually spelled so horrendously like that before, don't worry. It's an exaggerated example of what not to do.)

Lunaria: The inches won't help as I need pixel dimensions. You can find this (if you have a PC.. I avoid macs like the plague) by going to your display settings (usually found through the control panel) and adjust screen resolution.
I only need links to images (if you want any), a preferred color scheme, and preferred text. If you want a certain "look" or theme (i.e. dark, happy, romantic, etc.) you can add that in as well.

Biblio: Hope you got better from that headache/cold. It seems like everyone's getting sick >__<;

I had a computer literacy brain fart on that one, Vicki. Thanks for helping me out with that.

Now, to my request if you please.

I would like a Wallpaper. My computer monitor's dimensions are 1024x768

Text: "I never did believe in miracles, but I've a feeling it's time to try. I never did believe in the ways of magic, but I'm beginning to wonder why."
Image(s): Maya/Edgeworth snapshot, Maya1, Edgeworth1, Maya2, Edgeworth2, Maya3, Edgeworth3,
Any preferred size?: 1024x768
Color scheme: Something that fits both Edgeworth and Maya that is also romantic
Extras? (hearts, stars, swirls, etc.): I'll leave this to your discretion.

However you want to lay the pictures and text out is up to you. In my mind I had the first setnence at the top, the second at the bottome, and the single pictures paired together. But, I don't want to stifle your creativity, so please do as you see fit. If you feel there are two many images for this to work, I have put them in order of prefrence, so take away if necessary.

Thank you for doing this and I look forward to seeing the results. I know you are busy so please take as much time as you need. There is no rush on quality after all.

Jenna: Ooo, I like your choice of a personal emblem. :]
You should take a picture when you get your helm all finished and spiffy.

Yeah, I'd imagine it's one of those scenarios... I've had many embarrassing or silly moments that were only funny once it was far enough in the past.

Ha, I'm always conscious of people's radius of personal space. I dislike it when people are so close by that you can hear their breathing and such. >__<; Some people are downright rude and will not respect this radius. I once had a couple behind me that shoved their items almost along with mine.

How was your Christmas/holiday? :]
I worked for most of the day yesterday. It was insane... the restaurant was packed, and the wait to sit down was about an hour and a half for most of the evening. Luckily, no one got too hostile with us, but one group got all huffy puffy and walked out. You simply cannot please everyone 100% on a day like Christmas. Jeez.

Thank you for your holiday wishes, everybody. ^__^

Yeah, I've always used a wolf as a personal emblem, so now i just get to plaster it all over my shield. XD I love the look of a wolf mask, and doing an 7th century Viking Persona let me do so on my shield. I'll definitely post pictures once I get my Helm all set, my shield too, given I'll probably finish them about the same time.

I tend to be able to laugh at myself pretty well, but I'll feel embarrassed a lot longer than I'll act it.

The only person who's personal bubble I invade is my little sister's and that's in the name of good natured ribbing. However, a long line tends to be a test of that, because I'll get bored enough to bother others. Now people in line invading my space sends my hackles up....I'm a bit OCD and one of the things that drives me up the wall is people way too close to me, probably has something to do with my mild Germaphobia. i'm not rude about it, but I guess I have this look about me that scares people (at least that's what I'm told) sopeople tend to give me a lot of space.

My holiday was interesting. i might have mentioned before that we're Italian, so all 15 of us together gets pretty wild...only more so when most of the adults save my grandparents got a little lit and started acting weird. They sobered up before we went home but I was still one of the drivers. Still it was fun and the food was good. However, my grandmum from Seattle has been down (she's going home tonight) so my dad's been insisting on "family time", hence my absence from the net.

Sounds like your holiday was pretty crazy....you can't help it if people aren't happy with the service sometimes, especially the way people are now. It's like "if it's not now and the way I want it, why bother?" which irritates me immensely. I can understand it to an extent, but people tend to overreact at everything...hope you got time to spend with your family at the end of the night though.

First, a mini announcement. This week is going to be car-azy in terms of scheduling (especially with New Year's coming up), so there may be slight delays in responses and/or completed requests. As always, the wait will never be ridiculous like a month, but maybe a delay of a few days may occur. :)
Sorry for any inconvenience; thanks for the support, everybody!

---

franfran: Thank you for your really kind words :) I appreciate it.
You can request whenever you'd like. ^^ As long as people are patient and well-mannered when requesting, then I don't mind when I receive requests.

Lunaria: Sure thing! Thanks for giving me artistic freedom and thanks for being so polite with your request. :)

Jenna: It wasn't too bad as there were many nice customers that night, but seriously, once you meet a rude person they can immediately ruin your entire day and mood.
But blah, New Year's shall be interesting.. and by interesting, I mean really busy and stressful.

Can't wait for the pics. :)

"i'm not rude about it, but I guess I have this look about me that scares people (at least that's what I'm told) sopeople tend to give me a lot of space." This made me smile. I picture a glare of DEATH and doom.

I actually never celebrate the holidays with extended family (they're in Hong Kong and others are scattered around the country), so it's just the four of us. Three of us work at the restaurant, while my mom stays home for Christmas. It's also difficult to get to know more of my extended family when some of them hardly speak any English :/ Darn language barriers.

No problem, Vicki. I can't wait to see what you'll come up with. I hope the image quality for all the pictures was okay. I tried to find the best examples (everything is official art.)

I take if your family owns a restaurant? I hate when people aren't understanding of small businesses. There is only so much you can do when it's busy. I think if you go out on the holidays you just be patient if there is a wait. We were going to go out to a restaurant on Christmas day (its open every holiday), but my husband was sick so we didn't go.

It's true, and one of the reasons I don't like driving. The jerks on the road totally just ruin my day...same goes for biking at college unfortunately. Hopefully the crowd you get at New Year's is better...I hope you can enjoy it and it's not too stressful. ^.^

I'll post 'em here the minute I take 'em. :will:

I don't think I do that, but apparently I do according to people I know. A friend of my sis's totally thought I was going to get a gun when I was doing yardwork, and I just had a neutral expression on my face. Guess all those years of martial arts just does that to you...

That's kind of a bummer, the language barrier that is. I have some relatives in Norway, but they actually manage pretty good English, albeit a bit broken. Granted, I've only e-mailed them, but still....

Sorry for delayed responses.. had to work all day yesterday ;___;

---

APT: Thanks for hoping my schedule works out. It's working fine as revised so far, but I'm trying not to jinx it, haha.

Lunaria: No worries. I took a quick look at the images and they looked fine to me.

Yep, my family owns a restaurant. So true of many people who aren't understanding of small businesses.. especially mostly family-run businesses. My dad's the owner and my brother's like the assistant manager or secondary to my dad.
Is your husband feeling better now? I wish him well. I'm actually starting to get sick now.. my best friend had gotten sick a few days ago. It seems like everyone around me is getting sick x___x;

Biblio: Thank you, Biblio. <3

Balrog: Awesome, so happy you like it. I tried to keep it true to the game, with the random blood splotches/drips, grunge/destroyed look and all.

Jenna: Oh yes, bad/rude drivers are the worst!!
Norway, eh? Have you ever been there?

Oooh, here's a fun topic. Where have you been in terms of other countries (outside the U.S., for those people who live outside the U.S., any country besides your native country)?

I've only been to Hong Kong. I really want to go to some European countries.. I know that's quite vague, but considering I've never been to any part of Europe, I guess I like to keep my options open! :)

Phoenix and Maya Fan: Glad you had a great Christmas!! Your gift list sounds awesome -- my friend just played Valk and thought it was epic, so I hope you have the same experience.

Aliucon: Shucks, thank you very much. :) Please feel free to request something at any time! I welcome you to my thread :D

Biblio again (including Blinq, APT): Oh shucks, you people and your praise. Well, you're all the best supporters anyone could have. <3

Well, let's see. I live in the U.S. I've been to Canada, Australia, London, Paris, (the last two were from the Somewhat Irksome Great Tour de Summer '08)...I don't think Costa Rica counts...hmmm, and when I was little (like 4) we went on this huge 6-week trip to England where I went again to London, Paris, Switzerland, Hamburgandy, and various other places. (Oh, the charming names I came up with for locations...) Yep. =)

I've only been to Hong Kong. I really want to go to some European countries.. I know that's quite vague, but considering I've never been to any part of Europe, I guess I like to keep my options open! :)
No, that's a good goal! I used to say I wanted to go anywhere in Europe again, because I couldn't remember the trip we went on when I was little. Now, I've gotten more specific-- I want to go to Egypt, Italy (specifically, in Venice, Rome and then to the Pompeiian ruins, but I doubt I'll ever get to do that because my older sister has a phobia of old things...), Brazil, and perhaps Japan. Visiting other countries is such fun. Weird, sometimes, because there's that feeling of non-belonging and...not-homeness? And if there's a language barrier, it also gets weird. But other than that, learning about the places and seeing things you've only seen in pictures (like Stonehenge...and the sheep surrounding Stonehenge ;D) is really interesting.

Before I visit anyplace in Latin America, though, I'm going to need to work on my Spanish *nods* I hope to take it all through high school and perhaps in college. I want to go to BYU, and there are loads of language programs there, so.

I've always wanted to go see some of the Mediterranean countries myself, Italy, Greece, and Egypt.

I wouldn't mind going to England or some place like Switzerland though. But I've never been out of the country unfortunately.

Hah... I took Spanish my freshman year, and I had a horrible horrible teacher. Her name was Mrs. Atwood, and frankly she was a failure as a teacher. Many of us wondered why people bothered to keep her on the payroll and she still teaches there! I managed to pass the class, but I learned more in 2 weeks of 8th Grade Spanish then I did an entire year of spanish there.

Oh, that's awful. I dislike teachers who don't teach anything...luckily, most of my teachers are good *except for my hypocritical Geometry teacher, coughcoughcough* and my Spanish teacher this year, Mr. Brockett, is excellent.

Then again, I've only had three teachers in my academic history who I've disliked, not including substitutes (IRKKKKKKED) so it could be that I'm exceptionally forgiving of these faults :edgy: Those would be my Art teacher in seventh grade, Mr. Kentala, who graded harshly for no reason, taught in basically one class every three weeks, and gave far too many group assignments, Mr. Trachy (PE, eighth) who was a pervert, didn't care when I had semi-asthmatic reactions, and made us run in the rain, and the Mr. Mihalinec (Geometry), who rarely teaches, instead opting to sit at his computer all day doing who-knows-what and swears to fit in with the students.

Lol, she was the only one I had that was like that. I mean, she'd stand up there and talk, but half the time it ws in French (she teaches French 2). And when she didn't talk, she would put on this companion CD, and all the students would be lost because they had no idea what they were saying.

My teachers this year are awesome, my favorite is my history teacher, he does improv, so that combined with history makes for some surefire learning. Plus my Architectual Drafting teacher's pretty cool as well.

I've only went to Hong Kong. The food is so generously served that it hurts. We ended up taking out a meal because there was too much food. But we didn't have a translator so some things went a little difficult.

I would love to go to France, Italy, or Japan.

EDIT: I just hit Desk Jockey! *dances*

Oooh, here's a fun topic. Where have you been in terms of other countries (outside the U.S., for those people who live outside the U.S., any country besides your native country)?

Yeah, those kinds of people almost make you not want to drive...

Unfortunately I've never been out of the states, but my dad's side of the family is Norwegian so we still have relatives there who I do e-mail regularly. My Grandma on my dad's side is probably the only family member who's been over to meet them though. She actually the reason I'm studying what I am, when I was 7 she got me a big book of Norse Myths and I've been hooked since.

Hey everyone, again, sorry for the prolonged absences this week. I'll have to work later tonight (new year's eve) and in a few hours I have a bunch of errands to run. >|
I'm currently working on/off the next request as well.

I thank a bunch of you for keeping the thread alive and active :D

Edit: Oh, and I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! (in advance :])

---

Biblio: Man, that sounds so cool! How was Australia? I think it's funny that many Americans would think there's just kangaroos everywhere.

I would like to go to Italy as part of my goal. My friend spent a year in Greece, which is another place I'd consider traveling to.
I would also like to go to Japan. I think the culture is very interesting, and the language is awesome. :o)

That sounds like a great goal (to learn Spanish in college, etc.) My friend is a major in Spanish and spent a semester in Spain this past year. I've never studied abroad... I actually wanted to study abroad in Beijing (or was it Shanghai...*scratches head*) but unfortunately the only summer program I was interested in was last summer.. imagine the plane ticket cost for the year of the Beijing Olympics! x___x; I believe most hotels were booked by January but I could be getting my facts mixed up.

So, no studying abroad for me. :(

Percei:
We have similar goals regarding the European countries we would like to visit! :D
I wish you good luck and hope you get to travel out of the country soon. I've only been to HK before so I want to experience other cultures. It's really interesting to see places and people other than the seemingly boring/quiet/etc. life at home.

I had a horrible French teacher in 9th grade. She made me loathe the French language, unfortunately. >__<;

Blinq: Good aspirations. That's basically a main reason why I would like to travel more. It's good to see different perspectives.

APT: Are you Chinese? Just wondering. It's cool that we only have been to HK. XD What area? My relatives live in Tsuen Wan so I stayed with them.

Congratulations on DJ!

Balrog: Sure thing. First L4D wallpaper I'll be making, woot.

Jenna: I hope you get your chance to travel soon! (If you desire to travel, that is) :)
I love learning about mythology in general. It's fascinating!
I also think it's interesting to learn the reasons for why you went into a particular field of study. I don't have a single reason or life event that led me to Psychology, it was perhaps general life experiences of wanting to understand people. Specifically, their motivations and their understanding of certain situations or rationalizations. There's a bunch of other things but it's a laundry list. O__O;

Thank goodness, that awful Jonas Brothers song is over. *shudders while looking at stairs* My little sister was playing their music...and...singing.

I'm fine with most music, but there are just some things...

Anyways.

Biblio: Man, that sounds so cool! How was Australia? I think it's funny that many Americans would think there's just kangaroos everywhere.
It was really nice. First we went to Sydney and saw the sights around there...and ate really bad food :edgy: (We lived almost exclusively on a breakfast diet of Bickies Breakfast Shakes and raspberry thumb cookies while we were there...Ashley didn't like the food there so she wasn't open to experimentation.) It's sad that one of the strongest memories I have of Australia is that the only food I liked was the raspberry thumb cookies and gelato from an AWESOME prolific gelato stand. Chocolate and raspberry. Yummy. That's why I always wish I could place all of the trips from, say, 12-down into this part of my life because I didn't really appreciate everything I saw in trips I made when I was younger. But oh well, at least it was there. Anyways, then after a week we traveled to a place called Hamilton Islands, where we stayed in a little house and got to drive everywhere in golf carts...and we snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef. That was cool, although the boat ride over wasn't because, er, I got extremely seasick. :bellboy: Anyways, those were the highlights of our around 2-week trip. Regarding the kangaroo things, yeah, I've seen some people that just asked if people, like, rode kangaroos everywhere. Ouch. I think maybe the little kids asked about it once, but...mhmm, the only place we saw kangaroos was in nature reserves =)

...And now Alyssa is singing along to a Miley Cyrus song. What is this, Disney Artist Funtime? :larry:

I would like to go to Italy as part of my goal. My friend spent a year in Greece, which is another place I'd consider traveling to.
I would also like to go to Japan. I think the culture is very interesting, and the language is awesome. :o)
I kinda want to travel to Greece as well =) It looks like an interesting place. However, my heart (for some reason) is just fixated on those Pompeiian ruins. We read a book about them in Latin class (and watched a video about the disaster), and ever since I saw the coliseum and the streets that people used to throw trash in, so stepping stones were scattered in the streets...<3 I've been hooked. I like really odd things, I guess...

That sounds like a great goal (to learn Spanish in college, etc.) My friend is a major in Spanish and spent a semester in Spain this past year.
I would never major in it, but that sounds like fun...living in Spain. If I ever did that, it would make me laugh, because one thing that we're specifically not utilizing in Spanish class is the use of 'vosotr(o/a)s', because "Most of you will never visit Spain, and it's just not commonly used around here", end quote. I still try to spread the 'vosotros' love when I can, though, by annoyingly bringing up the verb endings when our teacher really would rather we didn't. Mehehehe. But I do think I should learn it in Spanish, because I'd rather work hard and be semi-fluent than work kinda hard all through high school and forget the language immediately, doomed to only broken conversation with fluent children forevermore. </3 My sister (Ashley) is awesome with languages, though, (she's currently in AP French and teaching herself ASL) so she wants not only to study French in college, but also to raise her children trilingual (English, French, ASL), and she's already picked out the French school she wants to send her kids to. :eh?: Yeah. But languages are fun.

I've never studied abroad... I actually wanted to study abroad in Beijing (or was it Shanghai...*scratches head*) but unfortunately the only summer program I was interested in was last summer.. imagine the plane ticket cost for the year of the Beijing Olympics! x___x;
I believe most hotels were booked by January but I could be getting my facts mixed up.
Yeah, that'd be difficult :eh?:
So, no studying abroad for me. :(
:sadshoe:

...DARN IT, ALYSSA, WHAT'S WITH THE CAMP ROCK/HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL MEDLEY?!?

Regarding mythology:
I've always loved mythology as well. One of my favorite books to read was my huge book of creation myths and otherwise. It got lost though =( Oh, the trauma... But Native American creation myths, or any other kind of creation myth, as well as Greek mythology has always been a favorite with me. Even to this day, one of my favorite types of literature is the type that utilizes both modern writing and mythological roots, or retells myths or fairytales. Mythology has shaped my interests, perhaps, but not my choice of career...my cancer made me interested in biology, so anything regarding the human body is really fun for me, but I suppose my love for reading, writing, grammar, and essentially anything regarding literature (as well as loving littlies, which is also why I want kids :edgy: ) is what made me want to be a(n) (English? depends on which age) teacher. It does interest me, though, how career changes come about...I mean, certain incidents can occur almost the exact same way and influence people differently. For instance, I believe everyone wants at heart to understand others, but it influenced you in such a way that you chose Psychology; even though a lot of people love myth, not everyone will choose as Jenna did; and even though Ashley and I don't share all the same personality traits and interests, we still want to go into similar fields--she wants to teach special education kids, and I want to teach...kids. =) (And then there's Ryan, who doesn't know what the heck he wants in his life because his one goal is popularity, and yet somehow he's gotten it into his head that he's going to buy a restaurant with money that he magically makes in that fuzzy area, and then he's going to be a billionaire. Riight. Dream on, little brother, dream on.) In any case, I think both of your career choices, or really any career choices, are admirable.

Good luck with your busy night tonight, Vicki =) I may not speak to you till next year! :larry: And sorry for writing so much :bellboy:

I don't plan to travel much. I guess I have no real urge to be going from place to place, even if they are marvelous or interesting. I am interesting, however, in spending some time in the USA...I just don't know when.

For now, I have been nowhere outside Brazil, so I don't have anything much to say...

But since Vicky was so kind as to allow me to make a request even though she must be mighty busy, I guess I will. Let's see...I want a sig. XD

Images: This is the main and this should be part of the background.
Text: "I'm here to help. You can always count on me."
Colors: A white/gray tone. Some light blue too.
Size: 400x150 or something around that.
Extras: Your effects amaze me to the point that I have no idea what to ask, Vicki. But I guess some stars and twirls would be nice.

Many thanks for hearing me out. If I did something wrong or I didn't say something, please tell me and I'll fix it. Good luck. ^^

Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR, miss. We are all honored to have such a magnificent and dedicated artist among our crew. :shoe:

I'm not Chinese. Oh, and we stayed in Causeway Bay. There's an MTR line near it, so we won't have to commute around (We have MTR 1-day unlimited passes) and there's no need to roam for sonmewhere to go because Victoria Park is near and there are a few good shops to buy stuff from.

Yeah, I hear you about selective memory when at a young age... The majority of my memories about the Hong Kong visits (at around age 13) was about the things I bought (Sanrio stationery and such) instead of the places I went to.

Yes, I want to visit ruins. I think it's amazing that such massive things were structured and made so long ago.. and they never had cranes or whatever industrial machinery we have today. Awesome!

Your sister has a ambitious goal for your children O__O;
My friend is an ASL major and is planning to become a translator or help directly within the deaf community. It's very admirable. :D

Woah you wrote a lot about mythology/career choices. XD
Lesse..

Agreed about your main/final point that there can be so many factors that influence what field of study we'll ultimately be driven towards. That being said, yeah, I admire people who have career goals in mind. This is because I see many seniors in college who still have no clue what they want to pursue in life. That's fine in certain circumstances (like if you plan to broaden your possible choices by going into the workforce and seeing if a specific field is "right" for you). However, I've seen a few seniors who really have no idea... which makes me wonder, in a curious way. Don't they have a passion for something? Anything?

I probably have mentioned this before but I have a wide variety of interests. I actually wanted to double-major and then double-minor because I wanted experience in many fields. I absolutely love computers and I'm fascinated about how they work, so if Psychology was out of the picture I would have probably become a Computer Science major. Game design would be awesome, but that's mostly just a dream. I'm interested in linguistics as well. I took a Psychology of Language course this semester and got an A. We learned about basic research about bilingualism, speech comprehension, speech production... very interesting stuff.

Thanks for the luck yesterday!
And happy new year once again!

Aliucon: How very sweet of you! :)

Ooo, Brazil, eh? That's cool :D Is it really warm there now?
And sure thing, thanks for requesting!

APT: Oh, okay :) I think I know what line you're talking about because I had to take the train almost everyday.

On an unrelated note.. I'm sick. >__<;

EDIT: I finished GDM's wallpaper. I applied it to my own desktop before uploading it and I really like how it looks! It's simple, of course, but the music texture has a nice effect to it.
The music in the background is actually real PW music (instead of some random Irish jig theme that I could have used), from this awesome site!

Biblio; Ew, Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus.
I actually found out why it was happening.
She was playing Disney Sing-It.
That game should not exist.

Yeah, I hear you about selective memory when at a young age... The majority of my memories about the Hong Kong visits (at around age 13) was about the things I bought (Sanrio stationery and such) instead of the places I went to.
Yeah...my memory about my childhood already stinks anyways :edgy: I remember virtually nothing, unless provoked by a picture or object, and when I do remember something it's usually really random (like the Valentine's day party I had when I was 11. It took me 3 days in the hospital to make Valentine's Day cards for everyone, and then when I got a temporary release we had a party. All I remember about the party was that when we got these lollipops with roses or hearts on them, we ran around playing a game where we tried to smack each other. :payne: )

Yes, I want to visit ruins. I think it's amazing that such massive things were structured and made so long ago.. and they never had cranes or whatever industrial machinery we have today. Awesome!
Indeed. For instance, we once watched a video in Dinky 8th Grade 'Physics' about how they constructed the Great Pyramid in Egypt? It was amazing. It took so many years to complete, and they used planes to move the stone.

Your sister has a ambitious goal for your children O__O;
Yeah...no kidding. I mean, it's for /her/ children, but...definitely ambitious. It's somewhat amusing that she can be so ambitious in some areas, and so...not in other areas. (e.g. Math...she hates it so much that she frequently abuses her poor book, and nearly threw it into a tree. It's because of the move. She didn't learn half of what they learned last year, so it's hard, but still...the book didn't do anything :larry: ) In any case, she already picked out French names, which my mom and I are trying to convince her not to use. She has a fascination with Marie Antoinette, so her first chosen name? Marie Therese Elizabeth. French school or not...

My friend is an ASL major and is planning to become a translator or help directly within the deaf community. It's very admirable. :D
That's wonderful! (Gosh, you have a lot of cool friends 0-0;)

Woah you wrote a lot about mythology/career choices. XD
Eheheheh. I thought it was interesting...? :yuusaku:
Lesse..

Agreed about your main/final point that there can be so many factors that influence what field of study we'll ultimately be driven towards. However, I've seen a few seniors who really have no idea... which makes me wonder, in a curious way. Don't they have a passion for something? Anything?
That just makes me sad. Some people get really confused...like maybe they spent too much time having fun, so they never thought about the future. I mean, most people are going to have goals when they're little...(I myself have on record what I wrote as a child of 4, where I was insistent that I was going to be 'everything' and listed as examples, and yes, all at the same time, a mother, dentist, veterinarian, doctor, and then wrote 'and everything else'. 0-0) but sometimes when they get older they get confused when they realize it isn't as easy as that, that you can't just say you're going to be everything and you automatically are. For instance, using my brother again...he used to say that he wanted to be a lot of things as well, although it was more like 'train engineer' because he used to love Thomas the Tank Engine. Then as he got older, he decided he loved video games, so anything to do with that would work. But now, he has virtually no ambition except to get rich somehow, and...I guess he still has time. He's only 12. But I think it'll cause him problems in the future. I guess, what it comes down to is that some people just can't deal with the difference between what they wanted when they were little and what the reality is when they're older.

I probably have mentioned this before but I have a wide variety of interests. I actually wanted to double-major and then double-minor because I wanted experience in many fields. I absolutely love computers and I'm fascinated about how they work, so if Psychology was out of the picture I would have probably become a Computer Science major. That does sound interesting, and I think it's wonderful that you would want experience in so many fields. All of the ones you mentioned interest me, especially because I'm so much better with objects than people :edgy: I've always loved computers--since all of my parents worked at Microsoft at one point or another (namely, both parents and both stepparents) I've always been quite well-acquainted with computers. Odd, then, that both of my fields of interest involve people...in any case, experience in many fields is good. I still need to research specific majors that one would have in order to become a teacher, but I'll probably end up taking classes involving English, Spanish, *the inevitable scriptural studies, it is BYU after all* perhaps some biology, and then some child psychology classes. But, you never know. ^^

Thanks for the luck yesterday!
And happy new year once again!

Happy new year! How did your day go yesterday in the restaurant and such? For me, I went to Sea World, and then while my older and younger sister watched a movie, I was so tired that I fell asleep and then woke up for a halfhearted "Yay, happy new year."

EDIT: Oops, forgot to respond to your sickness! I'm sorry. Is it bad? What type, like a cold or flu? I have a persistent cold right now, but at least the worst is almost over (at its worst, I almost lost my voice and then couldn't breathe because my throat was so sore :edgy: ) I hope you get better soon, whatever it is!
And...again, sorry for writing so much :bellboy:
