Hi Vicky!

I absolutely adore my avatar, thankyou!

Would it be bad if I request a sig? *^-^*

Text: On sunny days we'll go out, and on bad days we'll stay in. Sounds simple, doesn't it?
Image(s): Main pic - Mainly this image, but with these as extras if you feel they are necessary - No1 and No2
Any preferred size?: Around 200x400, or any other size you feel is better.
Color scheme: Reds and pinks, preferrably dark shades but with a few light parts.
Extras? (hearts, stars, swirls, etc.): Hearts again, but with more swirls than hearts ^^

Thankyou so much! <333

Caelestis: I have played Time Hollow before and I must say, I really like the Ethan/Kori image you provided for that signature. :)

I made no sense. I am very strange, you must understand... I apparently get accidentally "too deep" in my discussions sometimes. I don't even mean to be. I don't know yet whether it's a fault or not, but it makes me be able to relate to older people sometimes better than those my age. :eh?: Anyway...

I don't think you're strange. You don't give yourself enough credit! :B
I feel the same way - that I get "too deep" when I discuss certain topics.. I feel like everyone's more interested in discussing the latest episode of (whatever tv show) than discussing serious issues. I really do wish I knew more people who could TEACH me something and discuss something intellectually than simply rambling nonsense. (This is not to say that I don't like my share my rambling nonsense, of course ;D)

When I was 12-16, I loved listening to older people's thoughts and opinions. It really does teach you something, unless the older folks are complete nutjobs. o__o'''

The flyer designs actually have been really cool! Like, it's so weird to see my work on a professional website or printed out and distributed around campus. O__O;
My supervisor gives me a lot of creative freedom and I use simplistic design (concentrating on that "clean" look - you never want a flyer to be unreadable cause yeah.. that defeats the point), but it's still fun for me, especially when I'm not even a graphics intern. XD;

You're not weird!!! You're great to talk to :)

Lunaria: Sure thing!

Gray Godot: Oh yeah, I totally understand the waitlist thing. Thanks for thinking about my busy schedule XD I'll see if I can manage in the future.

Have you had much interaction with the graphics interns at your job? If so, is the relationship friendly or not so friendly.

Aw, thank you, that was really nice :acro:
Spoiler: long, lol
Yeah, I of course like my share of random things to talk about (I have a friend who loves PW as much as I do... she's not quite as obsessed, but she understands me when I make jokes, lol).

But I get annoyed when we'll have discussions in class, and the only thing people will talk about is whether the "character was stupid or not". I'm dead serious; we had a discussion on that with Into the Wild in class on whether the Christopher dude was stupid for going into the wild. What happens is that, no one wants to say anything because they don't either feel they can contribute, or don't think that hard, I guess, and so one person will say he thinks the guy was an idiot, and so everyone believes that they can contribute to that. I also don't really like discussions that deal so much on opinion and personal taste, that you just can't debate about it (ex. Which game system is the best). I get really annoyed with those, too :payne:

I actually had a kid in class compliment me for giving good and unique insight into discussions. I'm usually the person who doesn't always respond questions with obvious answers because I think too hard on it :edgy:

I'm glad I'm a good person to talk to; I sometimes feel like my ways of hyperness, then deepness, turn people off. :oops:
And that's really neat about the flyers! Yeah, I can imagine it's strange to see it everywhere, but I bet it feels good to think, "Hey, I made that!!" lol :edgy:

Don`t worry, you are a good person to talk to, and you don`t turn people off with your way of being.
About the feeling of seeing something you have done, I felt that with a painting:

It was a cubist painting of a guitar. And in my chool in a exhibition they showed my painting and I felt so proud of myself.

Vickinator, I think you`normally get that feeling with all the good work you do with graphics, don`t you? XD

About getting too deep in dicussions I have that problem too... no, it`s not a problem, we are an exception to the stupid people. And I think it`s not bad that we get deep in discussions, actually it`s a gift, something that shows that we can get serious from time to time.
Thanks. It was, is and always will be a pleasure.

Very good question!
There's two graphic interns, one guy and one girl. I have never talked to the girl because she's not assigned to my group and we never work the same hours.
I've said hi to Paul before, but we've never formally introduced each other. I feel kind of weird saying, "hey, I'm not even a graphic intern but I'm doing graphics so please get off of my computer." ^__^;;

All in all, I don't think the girl knows who I am. It's kind of an awkward system in general because the graphic interns aren't actively involved in our group projects (every intern [i.e. human resources, marketing, career counseling] were put into groups and we have to organize an event for this semester) so we never really see them around.

Graphic interns are usually stuck in the tech room so we don't see them often. XD

Blinq: Woohoo!~ I'm glad I did a TWEWY wallpaper some justice. ;D
I'm also happy for making your day! It's my job. :)

Caelestis:

That class discussion is.. special. >__>;
That's what I really like about some of my college courses: the professors and the reading material makes you THINK about things you would have never thought about before. It's like, trippy, in a really cool, intellectual kind of way.

I can see what you mean about not liking discussions that deal solely with opinion. It depends on the topic for me, though. Like, I like to listen to others' opinions and the general consensus about things (ex. "What do you think about this game?")
However, discussions like "what game system is best" ALMOST ALWAYS turns into a giant flame war. "OMFG U NINTENDOTARDZ 360 IS OBVIOUSLYYYYYYY THE BESTZ" >__>;

I used to be so shy in class because I used to think my opinion was stupid, ignorant, or worthless. After taking a few courses that really made me think about the readings, I learned to become a little more outgoing and fearless about speaking up. :)

I'm the same way as you - hyper/random, then deep/serious. Go us.

Gray Godot:
You're an artist? That's so cool! :D
I agree with the "deep discussion" thing. Yeah, not everyone can have a serious, thoughtful discussion.
To me, when I see people having insightful discussions it shows a certain degree of maturity which I love. It's certainly a nice contrast to the chatspeak everywhere.

Wow that was fast, Vicki. Thanks. I really love it. I like the Miles picture you chose. It really fits nicely with Maya's.

So the other graphics intern is using your comptuer? Oh no he didn't (snaps). I know how that can be sometimes. At my work I have to do a lot of data entry and only the admin computers have the power to open the programs I need without hassle, but then someone will be one one of them looking up random crap or bs'ing on Facebook. It's annoying because doing this data entry is not my only job and if someone comes in for tutoring I have to help them first and do paper work second. Sometimes I'm amazed at the work I get done in only two shifts.

Wow, Vicki... that wallpaper is stunning. I love the colors and patterns you used. <3

And Caelestis, I don't mean to butt in -- I apologize -- yet I feel exactly the same way. (About talking to people.) I feel really misunderstood when it happens and then I blame myself for it. I feel as if I simply can't be, which is why I usually shut off and turn away from people. Well, I feel as if it's somewhat my nature to be a bit cold on the exterior, but it becomes very intense when I feel off. I'm glad there's someone else who feels that way too -- I mean, it's not necessarily a good feeling... at all, but now I don't feel as alone.

I'm glad you all agree on the whole maturity subject. I certainly do. That's why I like having discussions... another part of people show up and I feel elated just to see it.

WAIT
Oh my god.
Thank you so much, Vickinator! That's ... splendidly... beautiful... it's absolutely perfect. *u*

Lol, thanks! Yes, deep discussions can be fun. And, hey, a gift for it isn't bad; I mean, I enjoy deep discussions and such, because... I dunno, I guess it's a way for me to feel a little creative and introspective.

That's neat, about the college courses. I'm hoping to take a psychology course, so hopefully I can participate in interesting discussions.
Spoiler: Long
I understand how you feel about not feeling like your opinion doesn't matter. For me, I got out of that a little quicker than some, I guess, because I had to fight to get heard sometimes (I mean, in discussions at my house; not like I don't have a say at my house!). I have some pretty opinionated people at my house, and so in order to "survive" (lol), you could say, I had to make myself heard. As a result, I'm a little more ready to speak aloud in class now. Luckily, I'm not thought as pretentious in my class (which can be intimidating) so it's easier to speak. But it's difficult to keep going discussions.
Oh, yeah, I like hearing others about their favorite games, books, etc. As long as they're willing to listen to my opinion. I try to not be stubborn; I'm the kind of person who will listen to others, as long as they're cordial, about their thoughts, however different from mine they are. But when it gets intense, I stand back.

Yes, and go deep»hyper, lol

Don't worry about butting in! I enjoy hearing other people!
Spoiler: long
I understand where you're coming from, honey. I've luckily gotten out of it; I mean, not completely always :edgy: But, I still understand completely. It's hard; trying to hide yourself from everyone but wanting to just burst out and go "Objection!" (or maybe that's just me, lol) I hate having "off days"; you feel just so awkward and you don't know how to get back to... eh, reality?
Sometimes, to help your confidence, make sure you know exactly what you want to say and how to say it. I mean, this doesn't help all the time, but if you're ever in a position when you have time to think, sometimes it helps XD Also, don't worry; there are plenty of people in your position. I've seen it; I've felt it. I think many people have been in the same shoes.

And, yes, I agree on why I like having discussions; you see other parts of people you don't normally see! You see what makes up the person and their psyche (or maybe that's just me XD).

Start with people who you gauge won't judge your art harshly or laugh. Usually good friends or nice teachers are a good start (or if you have understanding parents; for example, my mom would be one of the first I'd show my art to, but not everyone has a mom you can show stuff to). As you gain more confidence and tips, you can show it to more people.
And honestly, I'd also try to find a forum or something (like deviantArt, or any other place; I'm not part of dA, that was just the first place that popped in my head, so I dunno how the people generally are there). You're usually anonymous online, so you can show some stuff and get nice comments or constructive criticism from others without people who know you laughing at your face. If privacy is an issue, make sure you find a place that you'd feel safe with.

Hopefully that helped... a little... maybe... :yuusaku:

Vickinator: Well... Yeah i`m kind of an artist, and I`m shy to show it, cause normally I can see people laughing at drawings cause mine are sometimes just random stuff. and sometimes I get all inspirated and do a good work. Even on paint. I say... What the hell I`m with inspiration! And: there you go! Art! (I`ll show you something").

Caelestis: Well thanks for the advice you gave to cherryblossomkunai I`ll use the idea of showing my art to the people close to me except my sister cause I don`t trust her enough XD

Well... now here`s my art made in paint XD:

Spoiler: Random stuff.

Hello there... I'm interested in a signature request.

Extras? (hearts, stars, swirls, etc): It doesn't matter, you decide.

Take your time with it. It'll be all the more rewarding. Hope to hear from ya.

My reasons are that I'm working on a new project. It isn't a fan game but a story which basically is my vision of Gyakuten Saiban 5.

Thanks - I apologize for not using the exact images you provided, by the way. XP

I laughed at your *snaps*. Yes, OH NO HE DIDN'T. That was actually my immediate thought. There's only Photoshop installed on two computers in the entire Career Center. One is on a Mac (... I'm not fond of Macs) and the other is on a PC. The PC can be really slow at times (boggled down), but I honestly prefer the PC to the Mac. I keep minimizing things and windows just everywhere and oy ;____;

I have to do a lot of data entry, too! Oh yes, that sounds familiar. >__>;
Luckily I haven't seen many of the interns goofing off (on facebook or anything), but there is one intern who texts or gets phone calls all the time. It kind of bothers me because I'll be working and she would be just texting away. STOP TEXTING AT WORK. Jeez.

I used to (and still do to an extent) lack confidence in my artistic abilities. After receiving some social support, I noticed that I was improving at a steady rate. Really, confidence and self-esteem make a big difference with regards to improvement. (Positive reinforcement :B)

referring to caelestis' suggestion of dA:
Generally, people on dA are nice but you need to be aware that anywhere on the internet there's bound to be cranky jerks. My friend posted her art on dA and some troll was like GOD THIS IS SO STUPID - STOP DRAWING

Of course, that was an intentional troll so don't get depressed over such stupid, nonconstructive comments. Pay attention to the constructive criticism but don't think you will never improve (that is, don't get too discouraged!).

Caelestis:
Spoiler:
unfortunately my psychology courses literally have over a hundred people so we don't even get to participate in interesting discussions T__T;;
However, the material makes you think, so that's good.

And yes - I agree, deep discussions allow me to express my opinions while, like you, feeling creative and introspective. :D

"I have some pretty opinionated people at my house, and so in order to "survive" (lol), you could say, I had to make myself heard. As a result, I'm a little more ready to speak aloud in class now."
TOTALLY SEE WHAT YOU MEAN.
I always shut up and never responded to a comment if I disagreed with it. Nowadays, I figured out that speaking up is really important. You want people to know that you HAVE an opinion - that you're not simply a passive bystander. It's good to have a balance between unnecessary BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH and basically, being mute.
Yes!! Open-mindness is something that many people lack. I'm stubborn on a few things but for the most part, I like listening to others' different perspectives and their reasoning. It's how you learn!

Gray Godot: That art is cute! XD For ten minutes, that's really good.

Justice1: Sure thing! :) Welcome to the thread!

Random question of the day: What is the most random/funny/amusing/obscure name for a pet cat?
(Background: I was over a friend's friend's house yesterday and I love her cat - named Sparkle. :B I want a pet cat T__T;)

My submission: Ganondorf. Like, Ganondorf-kitty.

That's too bad about the Psche class. But thinking is better than nothing; I contemplate to myself a lot, so it works :edgy:
Spoiler: Annd more
Ah, it's refreshing to see someone who understands what I'm saying! Yeah, I still stay mute at discussions when I probably shouldn't (mostly religion discussions; I don't mind that people don't share my beliefs, but I get annoyed when they feel the need to be defensive around me because I'm openly Christian :yuusaku: I don't know your religious beliefs, but I always try my best to not make it a roadblock between me and friends).
I typically don't have extremely strong beliefs in something unless it has to do with feminism or any kind of prejudice issues. Other than that, I have a problem of seeing the world in many shades of gray, which causes indecision to a strong degree. However, as a plus, it allows me to see other sides of every discussion, which really helps with persuasion papers, because I can counteract arguments better :edgy:

Spoiler: This is a slight Rant, so I'll understand if you choose to skip XD
Also, it allows me to better relate to others. That's why many people see me as the therapist; I apparently make people feel understood. I didn't realize I had such a special.... "ability" until I heard people talk about how they couldn't understand a person's situation because they couldn't relate to it. I'd think to myself, "So what? Can't you still think in their shoes? Just think what it's like?" Nope, apparently not. I guess that lack of personal experience prevents people from thinking in others' shoes.
I know it sounds stupid and very ignorant, but I seriously didn't think people had this much trouble relating to others like that :meekins: As a result, whenever we have discussions about other peoples' troubles in the past, some people will go, "Well, why didn't so-and-so just do this? Would've fixed everything!"
While I'm sitting, steaming in a corner, thinking, "How can you say that!? You weren't there!"

Anyway, sorry that turned into a rant :oops: I feel like I'm going in circles... :yuusaku:

I just want to say, it's so nice to hear from you guys! I know ya'll online friends and we may never meet in real life, but it's awesome to relate to you guys and you guys listening to me. :edgy:

We had a girl dog named "Buster" :yuusaku: But the funniest name was for one of my sister's goldfish. She won it in a carnival game (The one with the fish bowls and pingpong balls). I asked her what she was going to name it and she said "Dinner." Sure enough, our cat ate it.

@TheBaronandEma: I played Elite Beat Agents and my brother couldn't get enough of it. He even did it in the highest difficulty and I envy him.

If you want to know, the highest difficulty is when you have the cheerleaders I think. How did he get to be so good... I can't understand.

I laughed at your *snaps*. Yes, OH NO HE DIDN'T. That was actually my immediate thought. There's only Photoshop installed on two computers in the entire Career Center. One is on a Mac (... I'm not fond of Macs) and the other is on a PC. The PC can be really slow at times (boggled down), but I honestly prefer the PC to the Mac. I keep minimizing things and windows just everywhere and oy ;____;

I have to do a lot of data entry, too! Oh yes, that sounds familiar. >__>;
Luckily I haven't seen many of the interns goofing off (on facebook or anything), but there is one intern who texts or gets phone calls all the time. It kind of bothers me because I'll be working and she would be just texting away. STOP TEXTING AT WORK. Jeez.

I'm glad I could provide some laughter. It seems as if he has a legitimate reason to be on that computer too, but I can understand how annoying it can be.

People at my work don't have the chance to text unless they are doing paperwork, their homework, or just goofing off. When you tutor you're not allowed to take calls from your cellphone because its just rude. I've had my phone go off (I forgot to silence it) and students tell me to go ahead and take the call, but I never do because it makes them less important than some call I just got. I'd rather the student be the priority since they are the one who needs my help.

Yes, the hardest difficulty is Hard Rock, which has the Elite Beat Divas. Did you yourself like it?

Spoiler:
Yeah, it's nice to meet some intelligent people on the internet. :)
Aww, that's too bad about people and religion thing. I'm atheist myself, but I have a level of respect for those who have religious beliefs. As long as people give me mutual respect for my beliefs, then it's fine. :B RESPECT IS A TWO WAY STREET, YO.

Yes, my strong beliefs usually regard feminism or similar issues.
yes! You're smart - if you play devil's advocate and mention the other side's perspective in persuasion papers, it's really effective because it illustrates that you acknowledge the other side. This will appeal to more people :D

Regarding your personal experience:
I know what you mean! I was actually originally going to go into counseling/social work and become the type of psychologist that sits in a chair and listens to all your problems for an hour. However, I realized that people in that line of work tend to get "burn out" after awhile because really, if you're listening to constant stories of depression, divorce, suicidal thoughts, abuse... it does get taxing on the mind. You REALLY need a very strong social support system back at home to counteract what you're hearing at work.

I tend to relate too much to the patients (like, I'm uber sensitive to other people's issues), so I definitely don't want to end up sobbing along with them at the end of the session, haha. ^__^;

your rant: I have a question about the conclusion of your rant which I'm trying to understand as intentional or not XD Sorry - you were saying that you think anyone should be able to think about a person's situation hypothetically or in their shoes, but at the end you're saying "but you weren't there." ^^;; Could you please clarify this?

Detective: YOU ARE INTELLIGENT. >:||||

Justice1: Right on :D

Gray Godot:
Spoiler:
Aww, cute name!
Here's a list of names I came up with for my future cat (for silly purposes.. I won't actually use some of these o_o''):
Ganondorf
Staples
Fax Machine
Cactus
Dog
Sherlock Holmes
Count Dracula
Count Chocula
Watermelon
Sprinkles
Booboo
Fluffyfufu

yuzikichan: Omg, dinner. XDD;
Poor fishy!

Baron and Ema:
Spoiler:
It's a good improvement! The backgrounds are nice :) My suggestion is to try to blend the characters into the background better for the signature, but that's 'bout it effect-wise. Pixel fonts look best at smaller sizes (so they don't look blurry or distorted) - the standard size is 8px. If you like the look of enlarged pixel fonts though, ignore that. :B

Yes, I've played EBA. :D
I've never got far, though. I need more practice u__u;;

Lunaria:
Spoiler:
That's the thing - the intern that texts often ALSO PICKED UP A CALL. We weren't in front of our supervisor or anything, but isn't it frowned upon to take a call during work? Granted, she wasn't giving a presentation or anything, but I was right next to her and found it very rude. Really, now. >__>;

Nadindi:
Spoiler:
Hi Nadindi! How have you been?
Aww, you're so nice :) Yes, I try my best to mix things up. XD

The version of Photoshop doesn't really matter for me (except for PS7 and lower because those are just.. o_o''), so I wouldn't emphasize the importance of version :B IMO, CS2+ have relatively few differences that would impact standard graphic designers.
Anyways: I use CS3~!

I've been awesome, thanks. My graphic thread's been a bit slow as of late, so I've been spriting.

Is there anything in Photoshop that makes it particularly good anyway? I GIMP, but if Photoshop could give me more, I would consider buying it. Graphic style expansion, and all that. XD

I used to use CS4 but then it caused problems with me not having the correct graphics card capabilities etc, so I downgraded to CS3 Extended and its great. Both are relatively easy to use (I find GIMP harder to use than the two photoshops, Is it just me? :yuusaku:) and are easily customisable when it comes to brushes. I think its worth a buy but only if you're going to do serious graphics as it's pretty pricey. It's great fun though. :godot:

Photoshop is the general industry standard. It has many possibilities. On the same note, GIMP is free and works fine. I have seen a bunch of amazing work that people have created in GIMP.

I pictured you saying "how have YOU been" in that Brooklyn accent. It was amusing. :)

Short answer? Nope.
Long answer? (21 page PDF file)

Medium-length answer?
I had been using CS2 for the longest time until fairly recently (a few months or so?)
The only obvious change between CS2 and CS3 is the interface design. It now allows more space, but you can always maximize the canvas view or arrange your windows in CS2; it's not a big deal.

The changes listed in that PDF file will effect those who use Photoshop for editing photos and other photography-related work. Minor changes to features that aren't that significant to warrant the upgrade if you're fine with CS2.

Freyarule: ^^ I'll say once again that I love your pairing. Did you draw the fanart?
