So, I've discovered that my MULTITUDE of interests continues to grow. My best friend, for starters, is a choreographer and has directed some dance shows at her college. I want to learn a few routines and learn some dance moves sometime, just because it's fun to create and perform, so I'll be planning to learn from her when she visits in the future. :D

Secondly, I want to learn how to sew. I took one fashion design class in high school and I really loved the creative process of designing and thinking of new ideas. It would be awesome to sew a dress or something. Even if I could sew a tote bag, that's still pretty awesome since I could make it my own cute design. :B
My mother is a professional tailor/seamstress, but she's often too busy to teach me. I think I'm going to start reading up on it and begin with baby steps.

Gray Godot: Yeah, you should ask them specifically what about the drawing they don't like so it can benefit both of you in the end. Simply saying, "I DON'T LIKE IT," isn't very productive or helpful.

You're not an asshole XD Thanks for fixing it, your drawing idea is very creative, haha.

Caelestis:
Spoiler:
Even if you double-major you should be able to finish on time (so it won't take until you're 30 unless you change your major into something entirely different in like.. your senior year) because your core requirements (math, writing, etc.) often overlap with at least some major requirements.

For example, I had to take a United States history course for one of my core requirements. To poke two birds at one time, I took a class that fulfilled an elective requirement for my Women's Studies major as well (Women in US History)! :)

I just finished spring break too. I'm excited - there's only four weeks of classes left!
I'm glad you're on top of things and have everything memorized! :)

You should watch DeathNote, it's quite interesting. I've only watched half of it, so I need to get to that myself.
And yes, I love that sort of intellectual-type of anime/manga.
Oooh! That DOES sound very interesting; it's nice to see a role reversal.

The Princess TuTu image you provided for your sig is very cute. :) I've never seen it.

For myself, I unfortunately haven't had much time to watch any sort of anime or read manga. The last anime I watched was Azumanga Daioh.

Ugh, I hate it when characters fall flat and become one-dimensional. I started playing Jake Hunter and never went past a few minutes of it. I actually need to finish Hotel Dusk so that's much higher on my priority list of DS games to finish.
I've been playing Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon for a brief amount of time every few days. I've never played a Fire Emblem game before, and I'm having fun so far. :)

Incendiary: Hey Incendiary~ Sure thing, you'll be next on the list!
I've been great, actually. Just had spring break, which was somewhat relaxing.. was good to see some friends after about 2 months of not being able to do so. How about you? How are things?

Jenna:
I've never had a TA that saved a class from being horrible, unfortunately. Luckily, I've only had two classes that were pretty bad. :)
How's your semester coming along?

Okami`: Yes, I'm actually sort-of planning a celebration for page 100. I figure it's a big milestone, so why not. :)
Thanks a bunch. :) Feel free to request anytime!

Blinq:
Spoiler:
Blinq, it sounds like you don't have self-confidence or self-esteem, which makes me wonder why, because you are certainly not ugly. It makes me wonder why you would use your picture as your avatar if you truly believed you were ugly. o__o'' Most people would hide their picture or feel ashamed in these types of situations, so I'm just trying to understand your perspective.

That being said, you should try some self-reflection and work on gaining some self-confidence. From my personal experience, both women and men who have a healthy amount of self-confidence/self-esteem (healthy meaning not ARROGANT ("OH MY, I AM SOOOOOOOOOO HOT") but also not incredibly disappointed/negative about their appearance) are the most attractive to others. When people are at a healthy level of confidence, it's appealing to other people. People look up to you, people admire you.

"Ugly" is a very strong word. It suggests that it's difficult to look at something.. which really, applies to only a few cases.

You are your worst enemy. This means that you (meaning, anyone) will always be the harshest judge on yourself. You may look at yourself in the mirror and go, "Wow, I'm really not beautiful at all!" but then OTHER people are able to see you in a very different light.

My advice to you is that all these people who are telling you that you're pretty/beautiful/etc. are not saying it because they're lying or something; logically, if people truly thought you were ugly, most people would simply stay quiet instead of outright lying to say that you are otherwise.

Take these words into consideration, and perhaps you can start re-evaluating.. and hopefully working towards a more healthy acceptance of how you look. :)

Tomorrow's gonna be my first day of spring break - I'm really excited. I enjoy school at the best of times, but I admit it'll be nice to get a break from it for a week. :keiko:
I've been doing fine. I'm a bit scared because progress reports come out over break, and I'm pretty sure my Geometry grade will be... er... unsatisfactory XD I've been getting a steady D+ all year. It's just not my type of subject (not to mention the teacher's a total bigot; he gives me F's because I don't box my answers).

I always seem to have one class a quarter that I hate, but last quarter I had a TA that saved it from being absolutely unbearable.

And the quarter's going along fine, so far. There's a lot of reading, but nothing quite as intensive as last quarter, just a lot of poetry (which makes me still want to shoot myself at times though) but I already have some essays due next week. Generally I don't get papers til week 5 or so, so this throwing the work at me a bit early but they're like...three page papers, so it's not bad in the least.

Spoiler:
I don't think I even have some kind of confidence D:
And I don't truly believe I'm ugly, but I wouldn't consider myself good looking.
My custom title is something more of a joke actually ^^
Once my self esteem was pretty normal but somehow it left..

And yeah if I really meant I was ugly I wouldn't want people to look at it.
I just put it because I have to see myself everyday anyway, so why shouldn't the people here too XD
So they just have to look at my everytime I post. lol..

I still have the thing in my mind..
In 4th grade or something they called me ugly. :eh?:
And now they come and say I'm pretty. o____o

Actually I can never force myself to take compliments seriously,
probably they are just being nice. :yuusaku:

Now I try to jsut accept compliments, but my mind keeps telling me they are lying anyway.. :yogi:

I dunno why.. o__o

sorry to butt in, but what Vicki says is true. I've noticed that many young women (~teens, some even in their 20s) are always struggling with their appearances. True, the media and other societal forms of influence are tough on female looks and the beauty ideal... but if people are telling you that you are pretty, you should reconsider what you negatively think 'bout yourself

Like this type of situation is annoying for some people-
"you're so pretty!"
"no i'm not"
"yes, you are"
"no, i'm not"
"yes you are!"
"no..."

compliments aren't meant to be outright denied... if youre struggling with your appearance because of some childhood memory, well, take steps to realize that's in the past and we're in the present//towards the future. during the teenage years, many people are considered not-so-appealing (pimples, imperfections on the face...), so you should feel lucky that you're not an ugly duckling right now! :P

and vicki is also right- LOGICALLY, people, especially online, wouldn't lie to you about appearance. in fact, because of anonymity, people online can be brutally honest. what purpose would that lying about someone's beauty serve for complete strangers? nothing, really. because it's true, you're pretty

then again, you're 15. you're probably goin through this whole identity/appearance issue because that's what teenage girls do. :P all we probably ask if that you sincerely evaluate your outlook on your appearance and how it affects other people, especially the ones who truly think you're beautiful. instead of being stuck in a rut of low self-esteem, take action and proactive steps in gaining more confidence! *thumbs up-*

I know, it's like comparing apples to oranges! O__o Still, ToM is the best pinball machine pretty much ever made. With machines like Black Rose (a Bally at my local diner), busty ladies are the only hook to get people to play, because there isn't really anything redeeming about it when you actually DO play. Theatre of Magic is one of the VERY few machines with both style AND substance - what's more, it's justified.

I made the Theatre of Magic girl on Soul Calibur III not too long ago, under the moniker of "Lady Houdini." I couldn't think of anything else to name her, and since she doesn't have a name and there was no room for "Busty Immortal," I had to make do. :P

On a side note, I'm kind of unhappy because I'M NOT GOING TO THE PINBALL CON NOW. :< Family situation. Our dad bought a motorhome and has to fly to Florida to pick it up BY the end of the month for whatever reason, and it's the weekend of the con that has to go. It's company policy, which sucks. Nobody else will drive us. He said that he'd make an effort to get home early so I can go on the last day, but no promises.

Makes me wish I wasn't the runt so I could get my permit...

Mitsurugi Reiji: O___O;; I.. remember you from way back when I first joined these forums, I think (2007~). It's a great honor to see you in my thread! I remember admiring your signatures. Did you make some signatures for some other forum members? I remember vaguely that some people credited you for their sigs.. but I could be entirely mistaken, so don't mind me if I am.

Sure thing to your request! I'd be happy to :)

Incendiary: What the hell? He gives you Fs only because you don't box your answers? O__o;;
Enjoy your spring break!! I just finished mine.
Are you good at other subjects? Geometry is not a strong point for many people.. don't feel too bad. :)

Jenna: Good to hear that the workload is less than last quarter. Oh, three page papers aren't bad. For this semester, I only have a few papers to be mildly concerned over because I'm only taking three classes. For one of my 400-level courses, the recommended research paper length is about 15 pages but I'm already at 33 and I'm still not done, hah. >__>;

Blinq: Well, as long as you're making an effort to think better of yourself, then whatever floats your boat. It makes me sad to see people who are genuinely attractive put themselves down consistently/constantly, even jokingly. I wish more people were proud and confident in themselves! :(

Asaki: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :( I'm sorry that it didn't work out. Life really punches us in the face sometimes. It's an annual thing, right? I 'spose you can look forward to making next year's venture to the con BIGGER AND BETTER! :)

Hah. "I'm going to spend money on this mediocre pinball machine just because there's a woman with big breasts!!"
Funny and sad at the same time, considering that's certainly what gets some people to play video games with the same "sex sells" overall theme.

Aw, that's so cool about your character creation. I wanted to make a character for fun in SCIII as well.

Heh, I'm good at English, French, and History. XD I'm absolutely dismal at Chemistry. My teacher is way too smart. He expects everyone to know what he's talking about just because he knows it so well. And when you ask him for help, he doesn't really know how to elaborate. XDD

It was a really last-minute thing too! And every other weekend surrounding it was booked (fishing trip, school art show) and the news HAD to come when it was close enough for me to start looking forward to it!! :<

Oh yeah, since I told you about Black Rose: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EYE CANDY INVOLVED IN THIS...NONE AT ALL.[/sarcasm] As Miss Swan would say..."He look like a man!" Yeah, I think it backfired. The scary thing is that the European fanbase wanted more...uh...revealing artwork for the backglass, but it was never produced (and because it was never made, we can rest assured that there is a God out there somewhere.) The gameplay itself is okay (there's an extra "FIRE" button for minigames and sinking ships) and they included a "cannonball" feature which is really cool but misses a lot when it's off-center. As a game it was good, but as decoration? UH, NO. o______O

The titular Black Rose would look (and play) way better in Soul Calibur III. There is a Pirate class, after all. And you could actually make a very convincing lookalike...that actually LOOKS like a Rose and not a...erm...cabbage. =P (lol, I couldn't think of any manly plants, forgive me.)

That reminds of a class that my friend and I took because we needed an easy class to fill our course load. We settled on Ethics (Philosophy 1305 or something along those lines). We were already in our senior year, and as English majors we were used to one of two options: one 10 page paper or two 5-6 page papers per course.

Well, this class had one four page paper. We were thrilled. One student, however, complained with "What is this, grad school?" My friend and I had to stop ourselves from laughing out loud. This same student also had the attitude that MWF meant Friday was optional.

Forgive me if I've told this story before, but I thought it was relevant to this topic.

It sounds like your research is coming along nicely. If your professor says it's too long (which they might not depending on their attitude) then you can always edit it down to the most essential information. It's always better to take away than it is to add when it is necessary.

Nicky: Welcome to my thread! :) Actually, as of now, you're next on the list, so it shouldn't be a long wait at all! Right now, it should only be a few days or less of a wait.

200x200 is the size for avatars, so I will make your signature a reasonable size under 600x200 (the maximum signature size). :)

Lunaria: When college students say that a five page paper is difficult, it's frustrating, especially when I'm writing thirty page papers. Yes, I love being able to overwrite than come up significantly short on a paper, because it's then a matter of editing. It's still a challenge because I often have to cut out paragraphs of material (for one-two page limits, for example) that I like in order to keep other paragraphs.

Since it's a 400-level course (basically, last research course for the minor), my teacher most likely will not mind. I'm actually surprised that previous students have written papers as short as twelve pages... keep in mind, this course is independent research so there are no mandatory meetings, and you have the ENTIRE semester to write the research paper. I can write a twelve page paper in about a week to two weeks depending on the topic, so thirty pages is worth the time we're given, in my opinion. I'd rather write something I'm proud of after an entire semester than something I wrote within the last week of classes. :)

Asaki: :( I'm sorry, Asaki. I'll get you a cake to cheer you up. What's your favorite food?

... Oh my... that is certainly an interesting picture, hahahah. Yes, I hear Miss Swan's voice in my head right now.
I never thought of what a manly plant would be, so your metaphor is as good as my guess. :)

"(and because it was never made, we can rest assured that there is a God out there somewhere.)"
Yes! One step forward!
So, wait. The European fanbase wanted more revealing artwork, but didn't care about improving the gameplay elements? >__o;

Twister980:
I hope so :D My job is to make you lovely people happy.

Incendiary: That's a common problem for math and science teachers.. they don't know how to explain it for those who really aren't math/science people. I'm decent in math, but I believe I can explain math in "ordinary" terms. I'm going to tutor my friend soon, so hopefully I can be of some help! :)

Woohoo!~ I really like Vera's colors so it was a pleasure using them. :B I'm happy you like it!

Mitsurugi: Yeah, I do! It seems like you've taken a hiatus since ~2007, which would explain your disappearance from the forums. If you don't mind me asking, are you going to post on CR more regularly now? :D

I really like your style, this "grungey"-type of style. :)

When college students say that a five page paper is difficult, it's frustrating, especially when I'm writing thirty page papers.

Wow, I'm really impressed, Vicki! Writing 30 page papers...

I'm just finishing High School, I didn't know the transition into university/college would be that difficult. You've motivated me to try harder though;D

As for those screenshots, I ran into a few technical difficulties, and am reorganizing them so they appear correctly on the game. I'll be sure to send you those pics when I'm finished:) I've already finished 3 of the 4 songs you made me banners for, they look amazing with the banners, and I can't thank you enough, Vicki!;D

Yeeeah. x3;; I have been lurking though! at least from time to time. I do plan on coming back more often now. I just returned to another forum that I vanished from a while back, and now I have returned to this one, .. let my presence be known! * Snickers. * Anyway, I really do want to start posting again, though I doubt I'll have much to say. What I really want to do is get back into roleplaying~. Much fun to be had there. 'sides, I need to get back in the swing of things. I'm rusty. D:

Oh, and thank you. You do a wonderful job of portraying it, because that sig. is amazing. *-* Thank you so much~! I really appreciate it. I'll put it in place as soon as I remember how to. <3

As for foods, I love peanut butter sandwiches and pasta of all kinds. I'm a very picky eater, but when I do eat, I EAT. And I don't really gain anything, which is odd.

I never thought of what a manly plant would be, so your metaphor is as good as my guess. :)

For some reason, I feel like watching Mad TV... :P I was right about Black Rose looking better on SCIII. You can make a pretty much carbon copy of her without the man-face. And I was right about better play, too - she was best 2 out of 3 against Lady Houdini in the Battle Theater, with Black Rose using the Dragon Sword and Lady Houdini using Midnight.

Yes! One step forward!
So, wait. The European fanbase wanted more revealing artwork, but didn't care about improving the gameplay elements? >__o;

Sad...(quite sad)...but true.

Spoiler: What the IPDB says about it
Quote:
According to the book Pinball Memories, artist Pat McMahon created X-rated artwork for a version of backglass intended for an interested European market. The glass was never produced. Additionally, Bally had considered using black pinballs, but had to abandon the idea.

Black pinballs would've kicked rear though. Bally should've put them in and due to the limitations, fired McMahon until he learned how to draw faces. Pinball + smut = an absolute no-no.

Baron: "Can I get your number" is one of my favorite skits from MadTV. Imo, the others are mediocre.

Papermario: College isn't difficult or impossible, but it takes dedication and motivation to succeed. Thirty page papers are nothing, especially when you have fifteen weeks to work on it, basically. ^^;

Don't worry about supplying screenshots in a rush.. whenever is fine with me.

Twister980: Sure, I'll add you to the list next time it's updated.

Mitsurugi: Oh, awesome! I'm happy to see that you'll be returning and roleplaying.
I'm very happy you like the sig :) I liked the image you provided; it was fun to work with!
I've never used PSP9 so I wouldn't know what it's like ^^;

Asaki:
I've never played SCIII so I'm unfamilar with the creation system (I think I've said this before), but I would love to try it sometime. I absolutely love the character creation process! :)

Hahahah, pinball smut. Wow... how can people be expected to concentrate on looking down at the machine if there's an X-rated scene or whatever on the backglass? SIGH. There's x-rated content everywhere nowadays, we don't need it in pinball.

Why would black pinballs be cool? I'm ignorant about pinball and everything, so care to enlighten? :D

Quick update: Nicky's signature will be completed by tomorrow; just need to add finishing touches and the rain animation. :)

As to my day...
I spent about two-three hours drawing and painting a huge banner for a march tomorrow night. It was such a rushed project because of the hecticness of spring break last week, and it was a big favor for a friend, who coordinates the march. It came out really good, though, so the time and effort was worth it. :) I'll be taking pictures of it tomorrow.

It's pretty straightforward and eerily accurate. I keep mentioning how I made characters for Theatre of Magic's poster girl and Black Rose, so I took some shots from the TV. The camera sucks, so my apologies.

Spoiler: Black Rose (when I made her, I forgot the gloves and belt u_u;)

Notice how Lady Houdini (ToM girl) has her hand posed EXACTLY like the one on the machine:

My thoughts exactly!

Vickinator wrote:

Black Rose is a pinball machine themed around pirates, namely the title character. One of its main draws is a "cannonball" feature that even has its own "fire" button at the front of the machine. By making the pinballs black it'd make it look more authentic, like cannons were actually being fired.

Side note: The Black Rose at my local diner is actually modded so that the FIRE button is on the side, rather than the front, of the machine. It makes it WAAAY harder to play than if it were in its original position. I never knew this until I saw pictures of various machines and saw they all had the button on the front.

Oh really? I have a couple more from the same artist if you would like to see them. I really do love the art style they use.
I don't really blame you. It is more of a photo editing program, .. so obviously, it isn't so good for picture editing and such. :\

Jenna: Good to hear that the workload is less than last quarter. Oh, three page papers aren't bad. For this semester, I only have a few papers to be mildly concerned over because I'm only taking three classes. For one of my 400-level courses, the recommended research paper length is about 15 pages but I'm already at 33 and I'm still not done, hah. >__>;

Wow, that's good that you have that much to say though. I very rarely get topics I could ramble on like that (I did get one last quarter when my final paper was on the influence of Noir on the cyberpunk genre, my sci-fi class was so awesome) and it's always better to have too much information than too little. ^.^

Hi.
Your banner and graphics are truly lovely. The effects and banners are stunning and sweet. I loved the franny/Maya banners so much I saved them on my computer. And I showed some of my friends on other forums this thread and they love your stuff as well. =D

Congrats on the jolly thread. <3

Awww! Selom, I didn't even realize I was so close to 1000 posts. Thanks for looking out for me, haha.
That being said, to celebrate this, I'm going to make a tag for the first person who posts in this thread with their favorite video game character. I'll be using an image of the video game character in your tag if I can find a high quality one. ;)

Jenna: Hehe, yeah, I can't imagine writing a 30-page paper on a boring topic that I'm uninspired with.

Nicky: I'm glad you like it ^^ There's no need for you to return anything. As long as you're happy, I'm happy.

BaronandEma: Thank you! I'm happy that I could be of some help to the community. :)

Mitsurugi: Thanks! :D

Selom: I'm planning to throw a party/celebration when we reach 100 pages, so I'll just merge that together, haha.

C. Gholy:
Welcome to my thread!~ Thank you very much for admiring my works. :)
Sure thing to your request, I'll add you to the waitlist!

Amy: Sure, added to waitlist. :)
Thanks for the congratulations! And pishposh, you're as important as anyone else. I do requests in order unless there's some unusual circumstances. ^^

My favorite video game character is Yoshi from Mario.

Congrats on the 1000 posts, Vicki!

By the way, I got Photoshop CS4, so that may be a bit easier. And I finally finished the 4 songs you made the banners for, so all I need is to make screenshots for you. Hopefully I can do that soon;D

Oh, Vicki, I'm sorry. I never made it clear. It's an avatar, not a signature, that I wanted. Sorry about that, especially if you already started making it. And when you're done with it, is it OK, if I request again, but for a wallpaper?

By the way. my favourite character is Luigi from Mario.
