Baron: Hopefully it'll be affordable soon.. it's great fun! :) I have a Taiko hat, haha.

Asaki: Awesome, glad you like them. :)
BLAH! 6th?! ARE THESE PEOPLE CRAZY??? >:||||| *face of anger*

Why are you grounded? :( (You don't have to say why if it's a reason you don't want to disclose to strangers, etc.)
Aw, and I hope you get better! Get lots of rest and drink water.

I've never played Pop'n Music ^^;
DDR fell through once my stupid mat stopped responding.

Jenna: Yeah.. I never had more than one exam in one day, thank goodness. Oh.. I see. Yeah, running after the first would be extremely annoying >__>;

Ah, you're talking about California - that's where my friend lives as well. :/
Yes, I'm happy to hear that you're out of range and in a safe area.

Minor update: I'm working on Pikazoid(Air)'s request now. :)

It's not the price that's the main issue, it's the availbility.
The only ones I know of in Australia are from eBay, and those range in price anywhere from about 50-80 or so dollars. :edgeworth:
Just another reason why to go to Japan. :phoenix:

Really? I checked them up on Google Images. It looks like the drums are giving birth. :moe:
Do you mind taking a picture of it when you're not busy? You don't have to wear it, of course. :-P. It'd be nice to see. Thanks! :phoenix:

Thanks for the concern. ^.^

One exam a day is really the optimum number. It keeps you from stressing too much.

Yeah, I'm at UCSB, which is a lot closer to the coast than the actual town (the college is actually outside the smaller town of Goleta). The fires are about the only time that it's awesome to be in campus housing since it puts you well out of range.

Ungrounded! :D I was grounded in the first place because I have a big mouth and often say things I shouldn't... The sickness was a minor bug too, but it was unpleasant while it lasted. But I'm well now.

And ToM went up to #5 since I posted, and it's still in that spot at the time of this posting.

When DDR introduced the music of Asaki to the series, I was convinced that the series could only get better, because I LOOOOOVE Asaki. (Guess where my name comes from? =P) But when they had Ashley Tisdale music (and other songs from equally awful artists) I was proven wrong, so I lost faith and stopped playing. I still listen to Asaki compulsively. He's amazing.

And I highly recommend Pop'n Music to you, even though it's Japan-only. It looks very cutesy, but it's a VERY difficult game with a steep learning curve. Still, it's a ton of fun even on the low levels.

I forgot - what year of college are you in?

Asaki: Uh-oh. Haha, I'm glad to hear you're ungrounded now. I've never been grounded, but woo, I've had my share of "I'm really in trouble if I say one more word"-kind of moments.

Oh, I see. The mystery surrounding your username suddenly clears up. That's cool, I didn't know about Asaki until now. :] I'll check it out sometime.
Oh my goodness. Ashley Tisdale was in a DDR game? *big sigh* >__>;

Yeah, I'm on the coast Southern California, which is nice (except for the fires, but that just sucks no matter where you live). The weather's really mild here, generally stays around the mid to high sixties, which is going to make going back up to Northern Cal (and it's 100+ degree heat summers) suck.

I'm a Junior, I just transfered to the college I'm at this year.

Burninator: Yes, sorry. I've been caught up with too many outside projects that I sometimes forget about others. I have made a Mia/Godot signature based off yours, as posted below.

edgeygavin: Sure thing, I'll add you to the waitlist. :)

Jenna: Oh, ok. I'm glad to hear that the weather is mild.. I often assume most of California has blazing hot weather, but that's based on my general ignorance of the variability of the state which is easily countered once I remember how big the state is! :)

Junior, eh? Going to be a senior for next year? :D

Baron: You'd be surprised at the things they sell at conventions, haha. Most of it is your run-of-the-mill Naruto headbands/pins/wallets with favorite character/etc. and whatever hardcore fanboys/fangirls will pick up in an instant, but depending on the booth, they can bring it some neat stuff.

On my wishlist for this year's Otakon - coin block plushie from the Mario games that does the coin noise if you push up from the bottom (so hitting it like Mario would to obtain an item). It randomly does the 1up noise if you keep pressing.

I love your art! You're so nice to take requests! I've been feeling down lately because my computer has broken down for the third time in a little more than a year without allowing me to back up anything. So, I was hoping for a nice change for when I get it back. Specifically, a new wallpaper.

Text: "...After all, it's me...Diego Armando!"
Image(s):
From here, any picture of Diego without him smoking. http://www.court-records.net/arts/gs3_19.jpg

Any of these, but especially the biggest one http://www.court-records.net/arts/artbo ... gs-124.jpg

Maybe some of these (maybe in a photo or memoryish style? but whatever you can fit in), (Diego and his peers only, no Phoenix, Edgeworth, ect.)

http://www.court-records.net/arts/08043 ... snap02.jpg
http://www.court-records.net/arts/08053 ... snap02.jpg

Any preferred size?: 1600x900
Color scheme: Reds, burnt oranges, golds, browns
Extras? (hearts, stars, swirls, etc.):
Just have fun with it! Basically, I trust anything you can come up with because you're so good.

Thanks!

I have a fairly simple request for an avatar...

You know the dual Phoenix/Mia objection? I'd just like a still [animation if possible] of that with Phoenix and Apollo. No fancy backgrounds, just both of them on the AJ-style defense bench with their pointer fingers extended.

thanks

It does have hellish weather down near LA and in the San Joaquin Valley (where I'm from) during the summer (gets 113 sometimes there). However, I'm right on the coast and it's nice there. The state has a great deal of variability which is nice, but each location sort of comes with it's own set of problems. Though, honestly I'd rather have the earthquakes or the fires instead of the tornados. Got caught in the edge of one this summer when I went to Virginia and that was not a fun experience.

Yeah, I'm kinda stoked about hitting my senior year because of grad school. I'm hoping to get in at the University of York in England since they have an insane Medieval English program there, but I haven't heard back from the guy I contacted about applying.

BlackCoffeeX1: Sure to your request, I've added you to the waitlist below. :) I'm sorry to hear that your computer has failed you, by the way :/ Are you thinking about investing in an external hard drive?

Baron: Nah, not really. My boyfriend and I buy a Mario-themed plushie every year we go to Otakon, so it's tradition - I'd rather wait until Otakon to buy the coin plushie. Surprisingly, it's at a decent price there as well.

Yeah, they sell games at conventions. Imports, etc. are available.. but in my opinion, they're a bit overpriced. I either buy US games on Amazon for cheaper prices and I buy my imports on Play-Asia if the price is reasonable enough. Then again, I hardly ever buy imports. >__>;

Whoa, nice aspirations! It's nice to hear such great goals for a junior... I say that because I'm surrounded by graduating seniors who have NO IDEA what they're going to do after graduation. A good number of them simply shrug and go, "the economy's bad." Yeah, it is, but that doesn't mean you don't even TRY to look for any jobs or internships. You never know! :|

In other news, I have an internship interview tomorrow in the city. Then, I go back to school and study this entire weekend for finals. :| I'm not even thinking about graduation yet since I'm still so busy during finals week.

I know this is a bit after the fact most likely, but good luck on that interview and definitely good luck on the finals, I know how stressful that can be.

My family and I got pretty lucky on the tornado thing actually. Well, not that we got stuck in it over at mount Vernon and the docents locked us out of the buildings, but the fact that neither we nor our rental car got damaged when it passed practically over us.

I'm kind of the crazy person who had goals of a P.h.D before I got to Junior College, so I've always sort of had an overall game plan that I keep filling in the details of as I go along (of course, my mom is sort of neurotic and that rubbed off on me so that's probably a factor in this too). I know a lot of students who really don't have a plan (or crazily enough, a major) this late in the game and it always sort of surprises me they'd put the effort into classes and everything and not do so in deciding what they're going to do with the rest of thier lives.

TheBaronAndEma: Thanks for the link! :D I'm only able to read the Kotaku link at the moment because the official pinball expo site seems to be down. I don't live in Australia, but I still wish I could be there! Sounds a lot like the one I was supposed to attend. I read all about that one too, but I'm too mad to even remember. Stupid end-of-the-month pickup policy. At least there's another one coming up soon...and there's next year, too.

---

Vickinator:
Good news - there's another pinball tournament nearby, around 2-3 hours from my house, and in my state too!~ <3 This time it's in August. My dad said to look for others in the area, so I did, and I found one. *is stoked*

Replying to your earlier post:
Vickinator wrote:

Oh my goodness. Ashley Tisdale was in a DDR game? *big sigh* >__>;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asaki - the wikipedia article is pretty good, but what it fails to mention is that he's making a SECOND album (provisional work has begun.) His music is all over YouTube too; various users post his songs up. (American fans who don't know his songs outside of DDR also make stupid AMVs too.) And yeah, Tisdale was in a DDR game, I think the song was He Said She Said. Disney Channel is the rear end of television. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.

---

Want me to clear up another mystery? Here's how I found the best pinball machine ever made.

While researching a game entitled "Tattoo Assassins," a fighting game that never made it past the prototype stage, I found that one of the protos had been destroyed in a flood. I went to the website of the organization that owned it - PAPA, a pinball organization based in Pennsylvania - and looked at pictures of the flood damage. Then I found this:

Spoiler: Flood damage. :<
Image

Theatre of Magic is the third machine to the right (it should look obvious.) That's one less piece of awesome in this world, since it's flooded and all. I could care less about that Road Show machine. It's EVERYWHERE I GO, which wouldn't be so bad if it didn't suck.

And so, I went onto the IPDB and searched for pinball machines about magic. There's actually a few; one of them was even made by Capcom ("Pinball Magic.") Only after a little while did I realize that the title had the word "of" in it, so I searched "of magic" since it was the only thing I could really see on the machine. And then I found it. It was like being smacked in the face with the hand of awesome. It was epic. So I decided "ZOMG I HAVE TO PLAY THIS" and searched for an emulator, because I JUST HAD TO PLAY IT. D: And that's how I came across PinMAME and all that.

Also, over the weekend, I played this:
Spoiler: SURE PLAYS A MEAN PINBALL
Image

and it was awesome; I liked it better than Black Rose. Nothing comes close to ToM, though. NOTHING. You could make Phoenix Wright pinball, or a ToM clone based off the Troupe Gramarye (which would be really freakin' sweet), but nothing moves the Theatre.

I don't live in Australia, but I still wish I could be there! Sounds a lot like the one I was supposed to attend. I read all about that one too, but I'm too mad to even remember. Stupid end-of-the-month pickup policy. At least there's another one coming up soon...and there's next year, too.

No probs! As soon i as i saw it, I thought of you and your pinball fandom. :phoenix:

I apologize for the few days of no response.. I've been studying all weekend for a final I had this afternoon. *whew*~

Baron: Aw, that Layton set is adorable. :)
Balrog: Thank you, Balrog. I've been working hard!

Jenna: Thank you! :) Yeah.. this past weekend has been quite hectic. The interview went very well (I was a little nervous) and she called me Friday morning to say I got the internship position. It was also raining when I got into the city, so I was annoyed. After the interview was over, the weather finally started to clear up and the sun came out - I was like, "curse you heavens!" for not stopping the rain earlier. Funny how life always seems to work like that, ya know?

Lucky, indeed. :)
Great to know you have plans and everything.. it's a rare thing for college students to have, unfortunately.

Edgey: Sure, I'll add to waitlist.

Hailey: Sure :) Welcome to my thread!
GDM: Sure thing, added.

Asaki: Oh yaaaaay!~ I'm glad to hear that you'll have another opportunity since you were screwed over before :(
Are you starting to plan for that?

Tattoo Assassins XD The names never fail to amuse me.
It's interesting to hear the chain of events that led to your discovery of ToM. :)

Hell yes! :D

Nadindi: Hi! :) No need to apologize, as always, I've been really busy too! >__<; I just finished my last final earlier this afternoon.. I had been studying since Thursday night.

Life is great, I have three internships for the summer and will be also starting a mini-online business while selling a lot of my books, etc. on Amazon.com to make some money back. Yeah, I'm ambitious. o__x;

How are you, besides being swamped with work?

Love how it turned out, I appreciate it.

Actually, it seems iffy at the moment. The town where PAPA is located just happens to be the name of 4 other Pennsylvania towns. o__O And it just to happens to be the one near Pittsburgh, which is the farthest from my place of residence (just my luck.) I don't know if I'm going, we're going to have to check the mileage and make some sort of agenda, since we've never been in or around Pittsburgh. Not to mention that my sister will most likely be bored out of her mind.

If this fails, there's always conventions in Jersey. We're looking at some of them too. There's much more to do there. Pennsylvania is nice but extremely BORING.

Yeah, Tattoo Assassins is one of the most bizarre games ever (or, considering it was never released, never.)

Spoiler: From TA's Wikipedia article
Tattoo Assassins was a fighting game developed to compete with the popular Midway franchise Mortal Kombat. Developed by Data East, Tattoo Assassins combined the talents of Joe Kaminkow (leader of Data East Pinball, a subsidiary of Data East Japan) and Bob Gale (screenwriter for Back to the Future). Using the same style of digitized graphics as Mortal Kombat, Tattoo Assassins featured real life actors fighting each other with violent moves and combos. Most notable is that the game featured over 200 Fatalities, including Nudalities (only a rumor in Mortal Kombat) and Animalities (before they were featured in Mortal Kombat 3). Some included dropping a DeLorean car onto the opponent (a Back to the Future reference), turning the opponent into a hamburger (a reference to an earlier Data East game, Burgertime), and massive diarrhea.

Each of the characters had magical tattoos, which came to life when they performed special attacks and finishing moves. Even though the game was never completely finished, EGM posted an in-depth article with moves and information about all of the characters.

You have to wonder, what were they ON?! But hey, you have to give it some credit. If it weren't for that game I wouldn't have found Theatre of Magic, so I'm pretty much indebted to Tattoo Assassins, no matter how cheesy it is. It'd be pretty hilarious to play. I should get it for MAME and play it for kicks.

Speaking of ToM: VICKI, WE MUST SAVE OUR SHIP

THEATRE OF MAGIC IS #7 ON THE TOP 10 NOW, AND ITS RATING DROPPED BY ONE TENTH OF A POINT JUST BECAUSE SOME FREAK DECIDED TO DOWNVOTE IT. i'm losing faith in our fellow pinballers. seriously, is the world going mad? :larry:

LOL, overreacting. But seriously, it's falling on the charts, which sucks a rather great deal. Hopefully the pinball community will wise up and let the epicness take over. Or maybe the Busty Immortal could make them disappear! :karma:

OH MY GOD I JUST GAVE MYSELF AN IDEA

If I were to get together with my programmer friend, and he could program the table in Visual Pinball and I could get together some art, it may or may not be possible to make a Gramarye table in PinMAME. (Yes, it is possible to make originals - on VPForums there are tons of original tables made by users.) That would be a dream come true! I should also study up on VB myself, because I know practically none - I can program Stepmania stuff and recolor Sims meshes, that's all, but it doesn't involve VB. If I have any questions I'll have to ask my friend. I'll keep that project in the back of my head. That would also be a great community project, but I don't know how much of CR enjoys pinball as much as I do. And I don't know how committed to it I'll be. It's probably something I'll do on my own time, when I gain enough knowledge (or use my friend's) to make something sweet.

:varanbaran: "NOW THAT WOULD BE ALAKAEPIC."

Weather stuff always sucks like that, especially since no matter what it seems to do the opposite of what you want. XP

I'm super glad you got that internship, that's awesome. XD I need to start looking into getting a paid internship or something, especially because my housing costs might jump given how much it's still in a state of flux at the moment.

It's odd that a game plan would be something that one wouldn't have when an undergrad, but given UCSB is like....the number five party school in the country (we still be Chico though which is crazy) I guess i shouldn't be so surprised it happens here.

Urgh, exams drive me around the bend. Just when I felt I was about to crack, they finished. Thank Godot.

Internships? Awesome. What kind of internships are they?

Books?! You have books? I'll have to look them up on Amazon ;]

My life is alright, one of my friends was so cliché today, tripped over a banana skin! I mean really, who trips over banana skins, other than in cartoons? It did make me laugh, cheered me up a damn sight too. ;]

I don't suppose I could request a 4-4 themed background, preferably using dark purples and blacks, and ommitting Brushel?

Preferably focusing on Vera and Hobo Nick, and with a large Kristoph silhouette like the one in this screenshot?
Image

And could it feature every character involved (sans Brushel) somewhere in the wallpaper?

Sorry if my request is too specific. Thanks!

So that's where you popped off to. Good luck in those exams, BTW. :phoenix:

Unfortunately yes. I wanted to buy it, but it's too expensive at the store I wanted to buy it from. :sadshoe:

Meanwhile, I can't for Rythm Heaven to be realesed in Australia. It's looks like such a great game, a mix of Warioware and Ouendan, I've heard. :phoenix:
