Hahah, it's funny you say that about senior year. Indeed, for the fall semester I went crazy with stress because I had applied to graduate schools. Thanks for the congratulations, by the way. :) Yep, I will be going to Teachers College, Columbia University for my Masters in industrial/organizational psychology.
I echo your professors' recommendations to wait for graduate school - it's a good move. I only chose to do it because I want to someday become a Human Resources Manager and having my Masters so early in the game gives me a good edge against the competition (plus, I absolutely love school, so I'm ready to go right back). After five years of experience in HR, I'll have to take a course and an exam to receive certification, etc.

Awesome job on those requests - looks like you had a crapload of 'em. I haven't gotten around to admiring your lovely graphics this weekend. I mentioned a little while ago that I was going on vacation - a family affair to a lovely little woodland amusement park - and I have just returned.
With a story to tell.
This amusement park has a beautiful carousel, which happens to be situated next to an arcade. Well, this arcade has three entrances: one in front, one on the side where the DDR machine is, and one in the back. The latter is in plain view from the carousel. I make it a point to scout out the arcade every year I go, but I haven't looked beyond DDR - that's all I would play and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I haven't succeeded in finding anything worthy - until this year.
So I'm just sitting on my carousel horse and looking through the clear doors of the back entrance. Lo and behold, three pinball machines. One was Lord of the Rings, and another I couldn't see very well (but I would later find that it was Pirates of the Caribbean).
The third? I thought it was my eyes, which have a tendency to adapt to my wishful thinking and make me see what I want to, rather than what's really there. But as the carousel finally got going, I knew that my eyes were not fooling me.
As I entered the arcade, I would find that I did, indeed, see...

What a BEAUTIFUL game. I'm telling you, it's one thing to play it on PinMAME and to look at pictures online. But to see the real machine...it took my breath away. Cross my heart and hope to die. There is nothing like it.
I did get to play it - a ton of times, in fact. I was on a trip with family, but I managed to play whenever I had the chance. Several times in morning, several times at night, for three days. I didn't set any high scores, but I came rather close.
Mission accomplished. But what's next? I'm too busy missing my time with ToM to think of anything right now, but it'd be nice if I could find this one, as I've drawn some fanart for it already. Yes. I am dork, hear me roar.

Ah, Cirqus Voltaire, the only pinball machine capable of blinding you.
It's one spot above ToM on the top 10 (ALAKANOOOOOOOOO!)...so I'd like to see if it holds up next to ToM (and based on my hands-on time with ToM, I don't think it stands a chance), but everyone's saying OMG AMAZING GAME so ehh, it's worth a shot. It also uses the same voices from Theatre of Magic, and it also has a bit over a third of ToM's production run. Godspeed, Phreek, see you in a decade or so.
In the meantime I'll just get it for PinMAME as I relive the awesomeness that is ToM IRL, hopefully at my friendly neighborhood diner this summer.
BUT REMEMBER: nothing tops the Theatre. I learned that this weekend!

I'll explain better: Originally, I wanted to limit requests to maybe three per week or something. After completing a big batch of graphics last weekend, I decided to take a temporary break and close requests for about a week or so.
I didn't make an official statement because in my past experience, if I say "requests closed" there used to be a big hubbub and people wouldn't stop by any longer, not even to chat or say hello. I would like to keep this place hustling and bustling even if I'm not slaving away.
So, Caelestis, requests are only closed temporarily for now. I was meaning to limit the requests I would be getting in a very subtle way, but that, of course, didn't work so well. It's not a big deal either way though.
That being said, I think I like the idea of having a limit of requests per week (like 5 free waitlist slots - if they're filled, you have to wait til the next week or whenever slots open/requests are finished) so it'll be a little more manageable.
I'll post the updated waitlist tomorrow.

I was just a little confused. I understand; life just gets in the way and also you can't make these things your priority Well, I guess for me, we're learning how to actually do 3D design in my class
We're using GIMP (yes! a familiar program!) It's amazing how much Gaussian blur is used for shading! (Lol, I had the right idea all along). Anyhow, I'm caught up in the class and we've been given a lot of cool tools for the class (for example, I have my own virtual machine! bwahahaha! XD). The guys there are friendly and quite the characters, so I've been feeling pretty good.Summer's here, so I have a lot more time on my hands. A friend of my bro's gave me Twilight Princess for the Wii and secretly really wants me to play it (he'd never admit it aloud, lol).
Wow, I'm feeling pretty good today. I mean, I've had a few personal issues flowing about, but I seem to be in an overall good mood. Hm... strange.

How've you been recently? I've been busy, we moved a couple weeks ago into our new house (right down the street from our rental house), so it was easy, its been good though, I have summer school, gah... I'm taking Geometry so I don't have to take it next year and move onto honors math classes. It's all online though so it saves me a lot of paperwork.
Heh, I'm actually kind of excited for next year, I'm taking a lot of cool electives and I'm looking forward to English.

My DS microphone is broken >__< I was playing Apollo Justice, going through Case 4-4 a second time to verify details about the Thalassa incident and Zak for a fic-in-progress, and tried objecting through the mic for the heck of it, since I never really do. It didn't register. I turned off Apollo, put in Electroplankton (which also uses the microphone) and nothing worked there either. Luckily, I found the original receipt from Gamestop and turns out that the warranty was valid...for NINE MORE DAYS. Talk about cutting it close! (I bought the DS Lite along with PW:JFA, Trauma Center, and two other games on June 29 of last year.) So we're shipping it to Nintendo on Monday, and everything will be free.
Hopefully everything goes well...they were very prompt in sending the prepaid labels via email. Hopefully they'll be just as prompt in fixing it.
Oh yeah, I got Cirqus Voltaire for PinMAME. It's good, but it's not THAT good. It's a beautiful-looking game on the digital display. The actual art, though, is a bit loud. Play-wise, it's kind of gimmicky, but it gives you a lot to do. Ehh, it's still worth drawing fanart about. XP

Ah, that's nice to hear that you got to move to somewhere so close away - much less hassle.
I haven't taken geometry since 10th grade, I think. It sucks too because I had to refresh my geometry skills for a graduate school entrance exam. It wasn't difficult, just tedious to do those practice questions after 5 or so years. We never had online courses or assignments in high school, so that's cool. :)

Yuzikichan: Hey Yuziki - in general, those look good. Out of the three, I like the first one the best; the colors work well together.
I think you're the first person I've seen to have used the "different letter images" approach. Kudos for trying to be different and discover your own "technique."
The Kanji wallpaper seems a little off to me.. did the brushes come with that pixelated border around them? I'm not sure if it's intentional.
It reminds of me the Matrix, too (not sure if that was intentional either). :)
For Bryon wallpaper, the color scheme could be improved a little and the white space behind the upper left picture could be removed so that you can blend him in better.

Oh wow, that warranty was cutting it close. I'm glad the crisis was averted! And hell yes, free shipping and stuff. I've never heard of the microphone breaking but only that hinge crack thing on the DS Lites. I have the armored one still and a DSLite - I prefer the armor in some ways because it looks a whole lot more resistant to damage and everything, but at the same time, I like the DSLite for its more compact size and the brighter screen.

Wow, thats intense... you are working hard. That's good though :)
Lets see, in our school, we do seven, 55 Minute Periods in a day, so I have seven classes:
1. Algebra II Honors
2. English 10H
3. Spanish II
4. Chemistry
5. Theatre Arts (and Adv. Theatre Arts, 2nd Semester)
6. Technical Drawing
7. Intro to 3D Art (and Student Aide, 2nd Semester)
I'm also taking Health online next year.
Pretty heavy schedule. The only thing I can say I'm not very excited about is Spanish II, I am ridiculously underprepared, my Spanish I teacher taught us close to nothing... so meh. So there it is.

It would be, considering that all I do is press buttons. :P
Magic-wise...mainly card tricks and tricks involving handkerchiefs and coins. Little stuff, but that's enough for me right now. I'm not Houdini, but I'm not completely inept, either. When we went to the park that had ToM, I stopped into a magic show and even got the autographs of the magicians playing there at the time. Sweet stuff. (The park has magic and comedy shows running during the year.)

My armored DS has a broken top screen, but it's still lying around for reasons unknown. My hinge never cracked on my DS Lite, but it squeaked when I opened it up until just recently (mic mechanism blowing out? no clue...) And yeah, it was a lucky break - but I was sort of hoping it would be late so I could trade in towards a DSi.
Is it even that great? I've heard nothing but praise, but I have never played one for myself.Quote:
