I wrote the wrong thing. I was suppose to right Phoenix and Maya.... sorry. Don't worry finhed it but kind of not wit the right pic. It is Phoenix and Maya but it was a last minuitething :maya: :phoenix:
I probably thought it was Phoenix Edgeworth since I was playing AA Turnabout Goodbyes.... and it's basically all about Edgeworth. Shows how good my multitasking is :P
I know nothing about the civil war etc.
I'm terrible at history that's why I'm not taking it as a GCSE.
The English system makes no sense to anyone who is not accomstom. My mum doesn't understand i at all (not being from England) so she never realises how good I'm doing at school :sadshoe:
The sig is here ^-^
Please tell me if it's ok :payne:

Where is your mum from, Purple Angel?

Also, the first sentence on the sig needs to have a ? mark because it is a question. The elipses at the end of the second one aren't really necessary since it has a ? mark as well. Also, you don't need a comma after you in the second sentence. I didn't see any spelling errors, but that could be because the text is kind of hard to read on that background.

Wonderful ! Just wonderful ! Absolutely wonderful ! :edgy:

Guess I was absolutely right when thinking of requesting a signature to you ^^
I've been wondering all week what it would look like and... if I wanted to make a very obvious understatement, I would say that I'm not disappointed by what you did. Of course, that would not prevent me for telling you I absolutely love the signature you made, and that I find it wonderful ^^ No understament, just the truth will do :garyuu: I even think I will ask you more requests ^^
Oh, even though the second one is better than the first one, it still looks very nice :D

You're really gifted ! My... (I just couldn't do such a thing ^^")
I really had a hard day (well, afternoon if you wanted to be more precise), and to see your work just cheered me up ! I'm feeling much better right now, and I just can't help grinning xDD (I went by the forum this morning, but I decided not to look at it then, but wait tonight... guess I was right to do that too, since it kinda help me when I was a bit down today ^^) and even though I'm quite tired right now, I wish you could see my smile right now xD

I don't know what to say else !... Why, I almost forgot... thank you so much for your hard work on my request ! :garyuu:
I will save the three sigs on my computer tomorrow ^^

I just realized it wasn't the same pic ^^"
Well, you've guessed it right... I really don't mind ^^ It's so nice, I can't say your mistake really matters... however, I'd really like too your new drawing too, just because I find this one wonderful and I'm sure it will also be wonderful too !
But don't worry about it. I'm (more than !) satisfied with this one, I won't ask you to do anything more with this request ^^
Furthermore, there are surely other people who'd like you to do one of their requests, I won't take you all for myself xD

So, unless you really have time to do so, you can go on with the new pic you're drawing ^^

Malaysia ? Nice ^^
As for myself, my mother was born in Madagascar (just check on Google Maps if you don't know where it is), and my grand-mother in 'La réunion', a small island near Madagascar which is part of France. However, both my mother and grand-mother are... French ^^ (even though my mother, legally speaking, was not at first, because Madagascar is NOT part of France ^^)

Exotic, isn't it ? :D

Technically there is a mistake in the grammar of that sentence, and I was just pointing it out to Purple Angel. That kind of error, intentional or not, reflects on her work. If you are trying to achieve a pause in that spot, a comma is just not a strong enough punctuation mark to carry it off, and it leaves the sentence looking like a comma splice. Your best bet here would be the ellipses (. . .). These are used in dialogue, and this seems to be a piece of spoken language. In that case, Purple Angel needs to add the appropriate marks before and after the sentence, and, in English, it is the quotation mark ("").

Guided practice helps of course. I don't mind being your long distance grammar tutor.

I could come back with some simple tips a little later if you don't mind, Purple Angel. I'm a little tired right now, so I don't want to type something and it have mistakes.

Yes, I really love it ^^ (Oh man, Maya looks soooooooooo lovely on the picture ! :maya: )
And you don't have to thank me or anything. It's rather me who should be thanking you, don't you think ?
I'd even like to do something so as to really thank you... but I absolutely don't know what to do :maggey-sad: and I know most people would find it I'm overreacting, it's 'just' a sig... well, for me it's not :p
(Hey, this smiley :keiko: has the same name as the person singing the song I'm listening to right now ^^)

I'm glad to see you're even happier now :p

So, what was the test about ?
And of course, I'd really like to help you with your coming oral exam. Let's just hope PM get through this time xD

As for Madagascar, now isn't quite the right time to go there... have you heard about the troubles occuring right there on the news ? :sadshoe: (You can check this article if you want to practice your reading in French :eh?: )
However, I'd really like to go there too... guess my mother would also be pleased ^^

I do have to thank you ^_^ I thank everyone since I think it's nice to be thanked.
I thank you for your request :edgy:
And you don't have to do anything, requesting was enough of a thank you ^_^
What song is it??? :keiko:
The test was about anything really, nearly all the questions were match the letter with the pic or sentece.
The hardest one was that I had to fill in the gaps for a description of a holiday resort. It gave me words just had to put them n the right place. Fortunately it wasn't the higher paper it was foundation so it wasn't as hard as it could of been :gant:
I hpe my oral exam goes well :will:
I guess going to Madagascar now isn't the best time....
But I would love to go there :edgy:
First I want to go to Malaysia :keiko:

Well, if that's the case, I think I will request more things soon enough :sassy:
The song was 'Hishikuzu' by FictionJunction KEIKO/KAORI (FictionJunction means that it's Kajiura Yuki who wrote the song, and the name after it is the name of the woman singing it. All FictionJunction xxx songs are definitely a must-listen to ! :garyuu: )

Oh, and didn't understand what you mean by 'nearly all the questions were match the letter with the pic or sentence' ? :eh?:
But, I'm glad to hear it wasn't this difficult. But why did you say you probably did terrible ? Because, reading you, one has the impression you did quite well, actually xD
I hope for you that's the case :p When will you have the results ?

And good luck for your oral exam ! :haykitten:

Edit : I noticed you had quite the tendency of writing 'of' where you should actually put 'have'. In your preceding post, you did write 'it could of been'. That's not the first time I noticed it. ^^ I wonder why you do that so often ? :eh?: (Maybe that's not a mistake at all :beef: )

And here I'm going, I have some work to do... nobody will do this mock exam on the different ways to translate the adverb 'successfully' in French for me !... See you soon ! :godot:

*goes to listen to song* :keiko:
What I meant by "nearly all the questions were match the letter with the pic or sentence" was that at the top of the page they would give you some words.
e.g
A = lundi
B = mars
C = quatre

and then underneath there were some sentences with gaps and instead of filling in the gaps with the words you put the letters.
Or if it was pictures, it would do the same but you put the letter with the correct picture.
So if there was a picture of the number four then I would put C underneath it. Unfortunately they weren't that easy...

The test was quite easy but I only realised that after since throughout the test my mind was going blank and after I was like, "crap, I thought gare meant war museum but it's actually train station!" :meekins:

Thank you

I don't know why I use of more than have....
I guess I'm used to it :will:
So the answer to your question, it's just me :gant: being strange :kyouya:

I find out the result hopefully Monday if my French teacher bothers to mark it in the weekend....

note to myself:

It's one of those mistakes that happen because spoken English often deviates from written English. Many people say "of" instead of "have" when they speak, so that translates to their writting as well. The best thing you can do to start correcting this is to correct yourself when you mispeak or write it. If you hear others make this mistake, don't correct them outloud because that would be rude, but you can correct them in your head. I do this sometimes with lie/lay because these two words are missused so often in English that even people who study the language and literature don't know which is the correct word for what they want to convey.

passed= I passed the ball. I passed the test.
past= The Civil War is in the past. In the past we used to go to the movies every Friday.

Write= present tense
Wrote= past tense
Written= past participle

I write letters everyday.
I wrote a letter everyday this week.
I have written letters everyday this week.

It will depend on the context of the sentence.

Those words have been confusing me for AGES I used to say the wrong one and people were like "no, you say written not wrote." and then once someone said "wrote isn't even a word" which made me really confused and then my head was all over the place.

If you could only get a C, and you got a C, then I think it is time for a celebration indeed.

Also, I was thinking of a mini lesson on basic comma rules or homophones for you. Which would you rather have first.

Keep on the good work ! :jake: Oh, and 'félicitations pour ton excellent travail !' :edgy: (well, didn't Edgey tell in one of the games he knows a lot of foreign languages ? I'm sure he can speak French :p)
Once again, if you want some help with French, just ask me, I'd be really glad to be of some help (especially since you made me such a wonderful signature ^^)

And good luck for your oral exam (and your other exams). Hope you will do as good as you did for this paper :p
I, too, have several exams in the following days... Tomorrow for example, I have a linguistics paper. Then, next week, on Wednesday, I have to give back a paper on a short-story by Poe, and I'm a little afraid for this one, because I just can't understand the 3rd question... I've never seen the words 'subhuman' and 'super-human' so many times in a single question O_O. Then, on the 19th, I have a paper on 'Traductologie' (it's about translation... we're not translating, but we're studying the process of translation itself, the different tools to translate certain phrases ^^). Very interesting, but quite difficult too... :payne: And on the 26th, I have a Japanese paper :D
Let's rock everything at our respective exams, shall we ? ^^

@ Lunaria : hum... are you a teacher or something ? :adrian: (I think I might have read that on your profile, but I'm not sure :s)
That would certainly explain why you know so many things about grammar and such :garyuu:

Don't mind, thankfully haven't got any English writing coming up. We are currently reading Stone Cold as class ^-^
But my English teacher wasn't in today, her son's thumb was cut off :will:

L~A -

There are two papers you can take for GCSE.
The Foundation (lower) and Higher (higher)
in foundation you can get grades ranging from U - C
And in higher you can get grades that range from U - A*
The reason people take foundation at times is that your more likely to get a C but if they did a higher they might of got a E.
So complicated :meekins:
merci
This is what's the oral about;
I have to give a 1 and a half minuite talk about my town to my teacher, I have to include:
1. Where I live and where exactly is it (north of whatever, next to whatever.)
2. What is it? (a industrial town, touristic, historical. A port, fishing, tourism etc.)
3. How long I've lived there
4. Where I've lived before
5. What one can do in the town
6. What is there? (the zoo, museums, ice skating, the mall etc.)
7. What I did last weekend
8. What I plan to do this weekend
9. Advantages and Disadvantages of the town
10. Description of my house and bedroom.
All in french and said in detail, pronounced correctly in 1 and half minuites.....
I have to learn it off by heart, I can have a piece of paper with 5 bullet points on it, no written french on it...

Then after the 1 and a half minuites my teacher will ask me question after question and I must answer and that willl last for another one and half minuites....
:meekins: :meekins: :meekins: :meekins: :meekins: :meekins:
Not this Friday but the one after :larry:
Good news however, I make pizza a school that day ^-^

Good luck in your tests :draw:
Why so many tests..? :sadshoe:

I'm not employed as a full time teacher currently, but I have the credentials to be one. I have a bachelor's degree in English, an English teaching certification for grades 8-12 in my state, I tutor English at the college level, and I am a teaching assistant for a Composition II class at that same college. Starting after our spring break, I'll be teaching English long term while another teacher is on maternity leave.

I make it my duty to know the harder aspects of grammar. Otherwise, I'm no help to those that seek help from me. There are still many aspects of English language grammar and usage that I have to double check, but that is the same with many people that study English language and literature.

Now I have this image of you jotting down people's incorrect sentences, correcting them, and handing them back to them. Yesterday my husband mispoke about something, so I subtly corrected him by repeating what he said in the form of question but changed the verb tense he used. He caught on, but he wasn't mad. He should have grown accustomed to me correcting him by now.

You can correct people outloud all you want, but don't be surprised when you look around and people are no longer talking to you.

Yes, some things are different. I need to double check on some of the differences before I go telling you the wrong things. I think they mainly have to do with quotations.

I have a friend who is in a similar situation. Her mom is not a native English speaker, but her step dad is. When she went to college and then came home, her step dad was speaking broken English. She told him, "You're supposed to be helping her, not going along with what she says and how she says it."

Good luck with your concert.

It's really complicated, indeed ^^"
I don't quite understand why there are two kinds of papers, but still, when I really think about it... I find the idea not so weird and meaningless.
This reminds me I should really study the English school system more precisely... who knows, it might comes in handy one day ^^
Because it's so different from the French system ! :eh?:

The English GCSE system gets even more complicated... :meekins:
Sure I'll send you what I'm going to say ^_~
A inuite and half... the problem is not that it's long it's too short... I wish I had more time. you have to fit a lot in that short space of time meaning speaking really quickly but also getting all the pronounciatin correct and not forgetting. This is my second one. The first one I did was one minuite long and I got a A* so I hope I do just as well :yuusaku:
Nearly finished writing it... once I do that I PM you ^^

Never played a saxophone, but loads of people in my school do - there's a whole band of them O_o
Do you have ay extra hobbies?
I've played a lot of instruments and never stuck to one so far, hopefully I won't quit french horn. I'm going to start having voice lessons soon aswell :keiko: but I'll have to quit dance :sadshoe:
Unfortuntely no one recorded.. but if you want to here me play I could record a sound clip of me playing one of my grade 2 pieces???
Also playing a instrument = very hard :meekins: (you have to learn to count music, the beats, the times, the articulation, those Italian words and the technique depending on which instrument, also the abiltity to play in time and with accompinment and the posture. It's soo hard but once you get passed that it is a wonderful thing. Might be doing Grade 2 soon. Yippe :gant:

A name for your goldenfish ?
If there's one I'd really like you to pick up is 'Angélie' (it needs to be a female of course ^^" And YEAH, that sure is a weird name for a goldenfish ^^"). That's a name I really like (even though I 'know' no Angélie at all ^^"). But of course, they are YOURS, not mine, so even if you don't pick up that name, I just won't really mind ^^
I don't have any other ideas, and other members probably have some too... so, I'll just propose this name, and this one only :garyuu:

***

Oh, and I know about Comic Relief. I believe JK Rowling made two Harry-Potter-related books especially to help this charity.
And yeah, I bought them :p
But we don't have a Comic Relief day in France. Not that we don't have any special days for charities and such, but it seems we don't have this one.

***

No, I don't really have any other extra hoobies other than writing.... poetry (in English ^^) for example (you can check my websites in my profile), or short-stories. I started to write short-stories and stories in English recently. It's so exciting, I just love writing.
And I've nerver any instrument... as you said, you have to learn a lot of things, and I don't really have the courage to do so... and I don't have quite enough money to buy an instrument, nor time to practice... argh, but I'd like to try playing of an instrument one day. I sure will, one day ! xD
And of course, I want to listen to a sound clip of you playing ^^ (and I'm sure I'm note the only one :kyouya: )
