Getting bored of solitaire because it doesn't have pictures of cartoon lawyers on the cards? Who wants to play with cards that have pictures of medieval kings anymore, anyway? Well, I've got the solution now, in the form of a custom deck for Silver Creek Entertainment's Hardwood Solitaire 3.
The deck contains characters spanning all three games from Phoenix's arc (I am planning a second deck from Apollo's) with one set of card faces and 8 different card backs. The card backs mainly contain background scenes from the games, but three of them are fanart pieces (I'm unable to determine the artist of these - if anybody knows who drew them, let me know so I can give proper credit!).
The cards rank as follows:
King of Spades: Phoenix Wright
Queen of Spades: Franziska von Karma
Jack of Spades: Miles Edgeworth
Ace of Spades: Dick Gumshoe
King of Clubs: Manfred von Karma
Queen of Clubs: Maggey Byrde
Jack of Clubs: The Judge
Ace of Clubs: Dr. Turner Grey
King of Hearts: Max Galactica (come on, he calls everybody "sweetie"!)
Queen of Hearts: Maya Fey
Jack of Hearts: Winston Payne with pompadour
Ace of Hearts: Dahlia
King of Diamonds: Redd White (he's a natural fit for that one)
Queen of Diamonds: Mia Fey
Jack of Diamonds: Godot
Ace of Diamonds: Will Powers
Joker 1: Director Hotti
Joker 2: Marvin Grossberg
Technical notes:
- Since the artwork for the cards was taken directly from the games, there will be blurring if the cards are scaled up.
- I used original artwork for Godot's card, but because of this I was unable to get HWS to make it properly transparent without ruining the image. So Godot's card's background is a little whiter than the others.
- This deck might only work for people who have registered HWS3. I don't know if it'll work with an unregistered version.
- I tried to find a way to work Adrian and any of the characters from PWAA Case 5, but couldn't find any suitable cards for them to inhabit without messing up the way I had the character cards organized. Maybe in a future version, I'll put characters on all the number cards as well as the royals and aces.
"Overall, I give it an eight out of ten, but only because it was made in China, and I am terrified of their government."
