Phoenix: (This girl is insane.) Hey, wait up, Maya!

Phoenix: I'm stuffed.
Maya: ...But I'm still hungry!
Phoenix: (She left.)
Phoenix: ...
Phoenix: Where'd my powerbar go?
Phoenix: Looks like Maya left the TV on again.
TV: And for the news today..
TV: There has recently been a murder down at the Graphite Company Headquarters! The victim's name was Mr. Doug Out. This story will be closely followed, so stay tuned!
Maya: Nick, I'm back!
Phoenix: Where were you?
Maya: Eating steak.
Phoenix: You just had lunch!
Maya: Remember? I have a separate stomach for steaks.
Phoenix: (What!?)

Phoenix: (Looks like the program is back.)
TV: And we return to the program!
TV: Three days ago, Doug Out was found murdered at the Graphite Company HQ.
TV: Tim Burr, present at the scene of the murder, tells about his experience:
TV: "I was visiting the Graphite Co. Building at the time. You know, to fill out a resume."
TV: "Then that I heard a loud, sickening crack!"
TV: "I whipped my head around and saw Ray Gunn, the secretairy of the 1st floor, all hunched over a body, y'know?"
TV: We'll be back after these short messages.
Phoenix: (It doesn't seem like I'll hear anything else important.)
Maya: Nick! I just had an idea!
Phoenix: Let me guess... defend this guy, Gunn?
Maya: How did you know, Nick?
Phoenix: I'm a medium too.
Maya: REALLY?
Phoenix: (Oh boy.)

Phoenix: Where should we go?
Maya: Maybe he's down at the detention center.
*Knock knock*
Maya: Who's there?
Phoenix: Why, it's...
Phoenix: Ray Gunn himself!!
Gunn: Are you Mr. Right?
Phoenix: Wright.
Gunn: Huh?
Maya: Are you Ray Gunn?
Gunn: Yep. Guys, you gotta help me..
Phoenix: Calm down.
Phoenix: ...
Phoenix: Why aren't you with the police right now?
Gunn: ...
Gunn: Ummmm....
???: POLICE! OPEN UP!
Gumshoe: Hey, pal, that friend of yours is an escaped convict!
Phoenix: He hasn't been found guilty yet.
Gumshoe: You know what I'm saying, pal!
Gumshoe: You're coming down to the station right now!
Gunn: No!!
Phoenix: Wait! Dick! I mean, Gumshoe!
Maya: They've left, Nick.
Phoenix: Huh? Oh, right. Just practicing my... speech.

Phoenix: Wonder how many times we've been here..
Gunn: You came!
Phoenix: Huh? Oh, right. Er, I mean, Phoenix Wright. Ace Attorney.
Maya: You've barely won five cases, Nick. "Ace Attorney?"
Phoenix: Maya!
Gunn: It's okay. At least someone will help me..
Phoenix: What?
Gunn: Well, you see, I have a pretty bad reputation around here.
Gunn: Crimes. Petty crimes. You know, vandalism, larceny, hotwireing cars and stuff.
Phoenix: (Those wouldn't exactly be called petty crimes..)
Gunn: But I swear I would never kill a guy!
Phoenix: Why did the police arrest you?
Gunn: Well, besides Tim, the other guy at the office that night,
Gunn: I was the only one there. Other stuff too.
Maya: So this "Tim" did it?
Phoenix: (There goes Maya again..)
Gunn: Dunno. He don't seem like the guy to do something like that. Too soft inside.
Phoenix: (Good grief.. again..)

Phoenix: Well, I'd say we go out and investigate.
???: AHHHHHHEMMMM!!!
Pheonix: (That could mean only one thing...)
Grossberg: Oh, hello again! How is the case going?
Phoenix: Well, we haven't exactly started yet...
Grossberg: Really! Well, I'm sorry to bother you, my dear.
Maya: How does he always bump into us?
Phoenix: Magic, Maya.
Maya: ...That's right! I can sense it, Nick...
Phoenix: (Oh really..)

Phoenix: So, Mr. Grossberg, what are you doing here?
Grossberg: Ah, I heard about everything!
Phoenix: (...That still doesn't explain..)
Maya: Did you come to help us with the case?
Grossberg: Oh, well, I'm afraid I can't help you there, my boy. Not at all..
Maya: Then why are you here!?!
Grossberg: Um, aha! I must be off! I have some.. things to do!
Phoenix: (Great. Why does everyone else always seem to know everything?!)
Gunn: Who's that guy?
Maya: Yeah, it looks like he's put on a little, Nick!
Phoenix: Maya!!

Phoenix: Well, I guess we should try to get some more information here before we head out, actually.

Phoenix: So, Mr. Gunn..
Gunn: Yip? I mean, yup?
Phoenix: (Give me a normal client for once!!)

Day of the murder

Phoenix: What were you doing on the day of the murder?
Gunn: Hmm.. well, I was visiting.
Phoenix: Visiting where?
Gunn: My relative lives in
Gunn: I mean WORKS in that Graphite place! Heh heh...
Phoenix: (Oh boy.)
Phoenix: So you were visiting him?
Gunn: Yeah. Visiting. I'm p r e t t y sure.
Phoenix: (It seems like there's something else..)
Phoenix: Mr. Gunn. Are you telling the truth? Were you just visiting your relative?
Gunn: I was actually
Gunn: YES! I was only visiting him!
Phoenix: (Does this guy just randomly reveal information or what?!)

Maya: So, Ray, who is your relative?
Gunn: His name's James Frisco... I think.
Phoenix: You "think?"
Gunn: Well, he's changed his name so many times to outrun the cops, I'm never quite sure.
Phoenix: (His relative is a crook, too?!)
Phoenix: What job does he have at Graphite Co.?
Gunn: I dunno. I've never really payed much attention to that sort of thing.
Maya: Does he answer phones?
Gunn: Yeah. I think.
Phoenix: (I'm pretty sure everyone in a big buisness answers phones, Maya..)

Present: Attorney's Badge

Gunn: Huh? Is that a cop badge?
Phoenix: It's my attorney's badge.
Gunn: ..Oh.

Phoenix: Well, I think that's all we can find out for now. We'd better head out and investigate.
Maya: Nick, wait!
Phoenix: What is it?
Maya: He mentioned something eariler, about the night of the murder! Other stuff!
Phoenix: Yes, I do seem to remember something like that now..
(Gunn: Well, besides Tim, the other guy at the office that night,
Gunn: I was the only one there. Other stuff too.)
Phoenix: Mr. Gunn.
Gunn: Y-yeah?
Phoenix: You said earlier that you were the only one at the Graphite office that night, and that there was "other stuff" as well.
Gunn: Oh, uh.. it isn't really that important..
Phoenix: We need to know all we can! If we're going to help you, you need to tell us everything!
Gunn: See, that's the thing.. I can't really say.
Phoenix: It doesn't seem like he's going to talk.
Maya: Let's go, Nick! There's a burger stand near the Graphite place!
Phoenix: (And that's the only reason why you want to go with me?!)

Phoenix: (So this is the building where the crime took place...)
Maya: Wow! It looks really clean! I wish our office would look like this!
Phoenix: Well, Charley does seem to be in good shape. Ever since I took over watering him, that is..
Maya: Hey!!

Phoenix: Let's start investigating.
???: Well hellllloooooo there!
Phoenix: Huh?
???: Hey there, cutie! Whatcha doin' here?
Phoenix: Um, well, I'm, uh, investigating.
Phoenix: (Real smooth, Wright. REAL smooth.)
Maya: Who are you?
???: ...Hey, smoochikums, who's this runt?
Maya: ...
Phoenix: (S-smoochikums?!) She's my assistant.
???: ..Why don't you dump her and take me, lovebird?
Phoenix: No.. no thanks. I have things to do.
Fanilla: The name's Mary Fanilla. You want my number, sweet-cheeks?
Phoenix: Well..
Maya: Let's investigate somewhere else, Nick!
Fanilla: Bye bye.

July 17: 2:26 PM Graphite Company Headquarters Lobby
Maya: Creepy.. *shudder*
Phoenix: So, this is the lobby?
Maya: Well, the sign did say so..
Phoenix: It doesn't look like anyone's here. Well, besides that girl at the information booth.
Phoenix: Wait, hold on...
Fanilla: Nice to see you again!
Maya: *Cough* I'll be in the other room...
