Nick's POV


"Who the hell do you think I am!?"

That is not the sound I expected to wake up to. Groggily opening my eyes, the first thing I see is a very undersized bikini top on a pair of oversized breasts. The first thing I do?...Recoil backwards out of my bed, tangled in my blanket and the back of my head coming to rest between someone's ankles.

"NICK!" screeched a female voice above me, embarrassed gray eyes glaring down at me over an angry red blush.

My name is Phoenix Wright, twenty-six years old, defense lawyer. I'm currently staring up my cute little assistant's cute little skirt.

"This won't end well..." I mumble to myself, trying to move away

"My, my...Never thought you'd have it in you Phoenix." A lower voice, but still female. Scrambling to my feet, I stare blankly at the two of them.

"..." My brain stops. I mean, what can I say? Mia (Possessing Pearls) is wearing next to nothing, a flame patterned bikini top, a striped scarf, a pair of black leather hot pants, and orange sun glasses resting on top of her head.

Maya is wearing pink...lots of light pink. A one piece short dress, gold shoulder...Things? Holding up up a pink demi cape...oh, crap...I know where these are from now.

"You found my collection didn't you?" I probably didn't even have to ask, given the smug look on Mia's face. "Why are you dressed like that anyway?"

Grinning evilly, Maya held up a red piece of cloth, a flaming skull wearing sun glasses emblazoned on it. A chill races up my spine and I start backing away. Holding up a pair of magenta sunglasses, Maya's grin widens.Turning, I run straight through the bedroom door...and into a black leather clad Larry dressed ,of course, as Kitan. His hair combed to point up instead of off at an angle for once.

"Sorry dude, you gotta do it too. We have prizes to win." I'll sue you! One of these days, I swear...

What followed next was painful...for my dignity.

Nick's POV

They dyed my hair blue. It is now gelled over my eye and I'm not wearing a shirt. They happen to be using that fact as an excuse to paint Kamina's tattoos on me.

"Hate you all, so much." Maya and Larry just grin at me, and Mia starts coloring my eyebrows.

Nick's POV

We meet up with Edgeworth, and I try to ignore the fact that he's even probably the best Viral I've ever seen, fake shark teeth and everything, and he tries to ignore the fact I've been roped into public without a shirt on.

Maya and Mia are talking about something serious (I hear the word master quite a few times), Maya looking a bit worried. The bus arrives before I can ask about it.

Maya's POV

The costume contest is just ending. I did okay, coming in seventh, but not as well as Nick and Mr.Edgeworth, with Mr. Edgeworth in first and Nick in third. Mia's striking poses and having fun, but Nick's looking like his face is going to catch fire. Man, why can't Nick just accept that this is fun and quit being so embarrassed? It's not like he's being made fun of or anything, I mean...we even got Mr.Edgeworth to come and have a good time. That's gotta count for something, right? But, man, oh man who could've expected Nick to look like that under those suits? Must be from all the going form crime scene to court house and back. Not having a license is good for your sexy- I mean health! Yeah, health. A pat on my shoulder catches me by surprise and I nearly jump out of my skin. Mia is standing there, arms crossed and smirking. I glare.

"Don't do that!" I scold, face burning. Her eyes were flying between me and Nick, and her smirk grew into a grin as she leaned forward to look me in the eye.

"Got a little crush do we?" He grin softens into a supportive smile as she wraps an arm around my shoulder.

"W-what are you talking about?" ohcrapohcrapohcrap she knows! Her smiling face goes serious.

"Maya, we need to talk...About love, and chances that fly by." Her face is a little wistful.

"Sometimes you've got to take that chance, because if you don't it may just slip away and be out of reach. Take your chance, I know he feels the same way, so...just believe in yourself, okay?"

Nick's POV

I saw Maya walk outside through the door next to the stage...She looks upset, I wonder what's wrong? Larry grins from where he's sitting on the stairs next to me.

"Dude, now'd be the time. Tell'er how you feel!" He makes a strange face, but I can feel the support of one of my oldest friends.

"What!? I don't know what you're talking-!" I start, but Edgeworth cuts in, a flat look on his face.

"Wright, you're an idiot, and you aren't fooling anyone. Just go." ...Love support in deadpan, wow. I shake my head and stand, trying to ignore that Larry has started cheering for me, and follow her out the door.

She was pouting, tears gathering in the corners of her eyes, looking almost unbearably cute.

"Believe in myself? It's easy for Mia to say..." Maya mumbled, head down "She's always been good at everything..."

I walked closer, putting my blue ringed arm around her slight shoulders. I smirked, though my face must have been bright red by this point.

"Then don't believe in yourself..." She looked up, brow furrowed.

I pull her tight against me, trying to impart all the confidence I can only feel when she's nearby, and our eyes locked, faces drawing close, a light wind causing my cloak to billow out behind me.

"...Believe in me, who believes in you."

She gives a light giggle, her eyes soft in the dimming light of the setting sun.

"You're so corny, Nick. But, I guess that's one of the reasons I..."

Instead of finishing, she closed the distance, lips soft on mine and her arms snaking around my waist in a light embrace.

I can't help but think that next time Pearls mentions 'Special Someones' that we won't be arguing.

'And that's fine with me...'
