AU: Nick and Maya have been dating for a while, and it's gone so well that Nick's ready to pop the big question. On Maya's birthday, Nick sneaks Maya's ring into her birthday cake, but unfortunately for Nick, Maya doesn't notice the ring and completely swallows it with her cake. Hilarity ensues.

Start with Phoenix and Karma fighting in courtroom, Karma wielding his cane as a weapon. Karma slams Nick against a wall and pushes a button on the hilt of his cane causing a small sharp protrusion to emerge on the bottom. He rushes to stab Nick but then Edgeworth bursts through the wall above Nick grabs Karma as he rushes Nick and slams his skull into the ground. Throwing Karma against the opposite wall he and Nick glance at each other an nod briefly understanding, before they both launch a blistering assault on Karma ending with a double kick sending him flying through the wall out into the street. Karma struggles to rise using his cane as support but Edgeworth throws a gun through the hole in the wall shooting him in the shoulder once causing him to fall defeated to the ground. Edgeworth and Nick step outside and give each other a high five, but between them you see a furious Matt Engarde in Nickel Samurai costume (minus the helmet) rushing towards them wielding a katana. Noticing the new threat the friends quickly dash to the side to dodge a fatal strike between them but Engarde is fast and dashes to Edgeworth's side. Edgeworth raises his hands to block but it's nothing against his sword and in a flurry of bloody slashes Edgeworth falls. Phoenix rushes to the aid but Engarde quickly turns on him and slices in a triangular pattern around him. Phoenix barely escapes but the shockwaves from the slice cut into the courtroom behind him as the building explodes into a pile of rubble. Phoenix looks back in horror before returning his attention to Engarde but he has disappeared. With a bloodcurdling battlecry Engarde descends from above ready to deal a final blow to Nick who looks on in shock unable to react in time. Suddenly with a tremendous thundercrack a whip wraps itself around Engarde's waist before snapping him away and slamming him into a building which promptly crumbles. Franny looks back at Nick from in front of the building and smirks. Engarde raging now rushes from the rubble but Franny whips at him causing him to stumble. With a sadistic smile she catches Engarde's ankle with her whip and raises him high over her head slamming him into the ground in front of Nick causing him to drop his sword. As he struggles to get up Nick dashes forward and punts him into the air. Franny expertly wraps her whip around Engarde's face to his surprise and slams him into the ground once again before she starts to spin Engarde around with her whip. The whip wraps around Franny's arm drawing Engarde ever closer before eventually she smacks Engarde with a straight punch in the face sending Engarde flying through several buildings before the last one collapses on him and he doesn't move. Franny turns around and smiles arrogantly at Nick before gasping and coughing up blood as she falls to her knees then the ground, stabbed by Dahlia behind her. Nick gasps as Dahlia seems to teleport towards him lunging for him but Nick dashes back evading the knife only to find Iris in matching uniform to Dahlia behind him who promptly whacks him on the shoulder causing him to fall forward towards Dahlia who lunges again. Nick twists his body around the knife and spins striking Dahlia with the back of his fist causing her to disappear in a cloud of purple smoke but Iris appears from nowhere in front of him aiming a blow for his head. Nick catches the punch with ease and sends a one-two volley into her stomach before throwing her behind him where she disappears in purple smoke as well but Nick is shocked to see Dahlia standing there. Stepping back he bumps into Iris who appeared behind him. Pinned between the two girls they unleash a furious volley onto Nick's head with their fists before Dahlia leaps forward and plunges her knife into Nick's chest knocking him to the ground. Getting up triumphantly Dahlia walks into the center of the street and raises her arms to the sky causing a wave of darkness to descend over the world. Gumshoe and his police precinct emerge from their HQ and gaze at the sky in wonderment while Gant, as part of the police grins maniacally knowing that darkness has triumphed. Nick's vision starts to fade as he looks to the sky he sees the images of Diego Armando and his old mentor Mia looking careworn and sad as everything fades to black.

Meanwhile Maya and Pearl are seen in Kurain performing an ancient ritual over a Magatama....Nick's Magatama starts to glow on his chest where the knife slashed him as his body slowly levitates into an upright position. Mia's translucent spirit appears over Nick's upright body as Nick opens his eyes and the Magatama on his body shatters unleashing a wave of light over the surrounding area causing Edgeworth and Franny to stir. Nick breaks into a sprint towards Dahlia and Iris. The recently revived Franny joins him on the left side and Edgeworth on the right as they leap at Dahlia and Iris. The two twins spin and begin parrying the ferocious onslaught desperately. Dahlia glances at Iris mid-fight and Iris looks at Dahlia apologetically before Edgeworth's fist slams into her face sending ripples throughout her flesh and she disappears in a burst of purple smoke for the last time. Dahlia looks back at Nick and Franny who she had engaged and is shocked to see what appeared to be the ghost of Mia and Nick striking an objection pose beside each other. A beam of intense green light emits from Nick's finger striking Dahlia square in the chest and propelling her backwards at an alarming rate. Whats more alarming is that Edgeworth dashes forward to match this speed elbowing and beating Dahlia off the ground like a basketball as they move before leaping high into the air. Dahlia blinks in shock as Edgeworth descended with incredible speed planting his hand on her face from a high height and crushing her head into the ground. Edgeworth smiles satisfactorily as a 5 foot crater surrounds the point of impact before standing up and throwing the dazed Dahlia into the air behind him where Franny's whip snaps her out of the air and into the ground. Franny looks to the sky and at Dahlia and spins her around repeatedly before slingshotting her into the sky. Dahlia blinks confused as the wind rushes through her hair until 3 familiar red bars appear in her path. Godot grins floating in the air as he punches Dahlia the opposite direction before teleporting above her again and hitting her with a double axehandle slamming her earthwards. Teleporting once more Godot roars as a massive red beam emits from his visor blasting Dahlia horizontally across the ground until she meets Nick's fist. Dahlia groans as she gets up, not beaten yet but Nick smiles. Through the pain Dahlia sees not only Nick but the ghost of Mia smirking at her briefly before they launch into a double -barreled assault. Dahlia raises her arms to stop Mia's attack but Nick hits her in the stomach while the Mia illusion smashes the knife out of her hands. Nick spins into a kick in the stomach which she blocked only to be tripped up by Ghost Mia striking her legs to which Nick followed up by hammering her in the stomach sending her sprawling back towards Godot who had armed himself with Mystic Misty's swordstaff. In a few vicious slices Dahlia was sent sprawling skywards trailing blood along the way before Edgeworth drove her into the ground again with another face-to-floor manouver. Barely conscious Dahlia staggers to her feet coughing blood before her eyesight focuses on Nick rushing towards her from the front. But Godot hit her in the back first, turning to face the new aggressor Edgeworth struck her in the side which she moved to block before Nick arrived and hit her causing her to stagger dizzily. The three men looked at each other and nodded once more before they unleashed their fury on the demon before them in a flurry of kicks, punches and sweet manouvers before with a massive uppercut Godot sent her flying into the sky where a floating Franny waited. Franny sliced into Dahlia's body with lightning fast whip strokes before binding her with her whip watching as the others positioned themselves around Dahlia.
Edgeworth took up a position below Dahlia on the left as the police force assembled around him and began to fire volley after volley into the demon.
Godot hovered at the left of Dahlia and chuckled as he tapped a button on the side of his visor unleashing another concentrated energy blast into her body.
Dahlia roared and struggled against her constraints as the true demon within revealed herself projecting herself out the top of her frail human form. With demonic hair blowing everywhere and eyes of white the police force almost halted their barrage but a quick rally from Edgeworth assured their aim remained true. Nick and the spirit of Mia inside him looked up at the true demon above knowing what had to be done. Shuffling his foot back a little so his legs were apart and his shoulder faced Dahlia he raised and extended his arm into a climactic point while the Spirit of Mia mirrored his movements. When the pose was finished Nick cried out "FINAL PHOENIX BLAST!" as together they unleashed a beam of energy so strong it banished the demon into the skies and beyond.
Ghost Mia looked at Nick gratefully as she faded away and sunlight burst through the skies above as the darkness spawned by Dahlia disappeared into the netherworld once more.

The 4 heroes look at each other and the sunlight happily, the battle had been exhausting but they triumphed. Edgeworth grinned at the police force as Gumshoe broke out instant noodles for everyone. The future of Justice looked bright.
