I've been HOPELESSLY hooked on Law & Order: SVU as of late, but would a SVU/PW crossover be too weird??
Basically, one of the female PW characters gets raped, and none of the characters can touch it...that is, until Detectives Benson & Stabler show up with their team of people, using Lana Skye as the prosecutor (which means she's not the rape victim...) and the defense attorney...one Phoenix Wright!
How's that one sound?

Being a secret L&O freak, second only to my own mum, I must say that if you were going to even
attempt such a plot, it would require you to have a
very delicate hand.
Firstly, you would absolutely need to do proper research. There's simply no way you could treat that case in the humorous manner that PW cases lean towards. You would need to understand all the ins and outs of the law, and how real trial proceedings work. You would have to understand that the CSIshow-style of testing every last little thing at the crime scene is probably not going to happen.
You
especially need to research the psychology involved--both for the rapist
and his victim. It isn't fluffy, it isn't funny, it isn't simple, and there probably won't be any running to someone for comfort afterwards. You must understand that such a crime would have a long-lasting, horrible effect on whichever female character you chose to be a victim, and that you will have to go to some unpleasant places in your own mind to write such a story.
You would also have ahead of you a lot of hard work as far as making sure each crew of cast members stays in character, and somehow finding a way to make those different personalities mesh believably. I doubt that either Benson or Stabler would find Gumshoe's bumbling the slightest bit funny, which means he most definitely would not be on the case (possibly on the force at all?) very long.
To be honest, unless you are capable of taking on a project that will consume
every last moment of your waking free time, and are willing to put together the most effort you probably have towards anything in your life JUST to make it even
half well done... I wouldn't do it.
