Franziska shivered as she walked down the hall, a chill running up her spine. She rubbed her pale arms, trying to warm them. She had been searching the ground floor with Frank and Jonathan, but Frank had wandered into the kitchen on his inevitable search for booze, and Jonathan had wandered into the library, which was being used as the “safe room.” She assumed Jonathan was actually doing something worthwhile, but Frank…
As she came up to a corner in the hallway, she found herself staring in a mirror. She checked her self, fixing her hair and attempting to brush the wrinkles out of her sky blue polo shirt and denim skirt. Suddenly felt forced to avert her eyes to a window left of the mirror.
She felt as though she was being pulled into the darkness outside. Pairs of red eyes glowed and whispering voices filled her skull and yet were unheard by her ear. As the glowing eyes began to leave, her eyes turned back to the mirror, where two figures stared back at her.
She whipped around to confront Jonathan, fixing her clothing and hair quickly once again, “Mr. Hyde, I didn’t hear you walk up,” she said blushing, “Don’t scare me like that.”
“Ms. von Karma, you don’t seem like the type to be easily scared,” he replied, a charismatic smirk crossing his face, “And please, call me Jonathan.”
“Well, Jonathan,” It sounded weird to her, not being formal, “You can call me Franziska. Anyways, did you find anything?”
“Unfortunately, no,” He muttered, “But there is one thing I want to tell you about. It’s about Wright.”
“Mr. Phoenix Wright? He’s a fool.”
“Yeah, but I think he might have something to do with this”
“Him? He’s too much of a goody-two-shoes to pull something like this.”
“Not him specifically, but the Fey girl. I’ve studied their powers after I got help from Wright. Not only would he not shut up about his assistant, but he blabbed about her powers.”
“The Kurain channeling technique.”
“Exactly. It’s a very powerful form of magic, so…”
“Magic? Please. There’s spirit summoning, and then there’s magic.”
“Magic is very real. I’ve studied the occult, and I can tell you, there are dark things out there which you wouldn’t believe until you saw them, this is one of those. The island is cursed.”
“Really…? Well, as you were saying.”
“Where was I…Right. It’s a powerful form of magic, so I think a spell like this would only be work if casted by a person who already had knowledge of the magical arts, and was very powerful.”
“But Maya isn’t that powerful at all. In my first case against Wright a few months ago, she had just finished her training.”
“The Feys are a very treacherous family. How do you know she’s just not hiding her powers? And what about the little one?”
“Are you saying they unleashed a curse on this island?” She said, still not believing.
“I’m just saying,” Jonathan said as he walked away, “Watch your back around Wright and the Feys.”

Franziska continued to search the rooms.
There has to be a third party here. I don’t think Wright would do it. I…For lack of a better word, trust him. The people on the movie crew are too foolish to pull something like this off. Patrick wouldn’t try to kill everybody off without a way out himself. And Jonathan…There’s something about him that I just like. The next room she entered was like a hunting trophy room. The walls were covered in animal heads and hunting rifles. The far side of the room had a fireplace with a tiger rug and two chairs with a table in between, which had a tea set and a dusty old book on it.
As she approached the chairs, she suddenly felt a need to sit down. She of course, complied with her legs and took a seat. Reaching onto the table, she decided to take a look at the book.
The pages were all empty. She flipped through it, finding nothing, until she found one page with scribbles on it.
“Fool. Writing a book with nothing in it.” She stared at the page, until the scribbled began to form into a window, then everything in her vision turned cloudy as she heard voices coming from right where she sat and the other seat. A ghostly figure appeared on the other chair.
“I already know what you are planning and what you have done, and I can tell you, you will lose.” The figure in the opposite chair said. Franziska could tell it was Patrick.
“You and your foolish beliefs. Are you basing that on the stories you have read, on history?”
“Yes. History always repeats itself.”
“The darkness is growing more powerful. This spell will be cast, and you, one of the main beacons of light in dark times, will be killed.”
“What makes you think I’ll even let you cast the spell?”
“I don’t need your permission to cast a spell. But, I can keep you distracted. I have one of my lackies here. He can cover me while I cast the spell…Are you finding this conversation interesting, Ms. von Karma.” Franziska jumped.
“You can sense into the future when a spell is being cast as I can. Interesting.” Patrick said.
“Ms. von Karma, it’s not polite to listen in, even if it is through a spell. I suggest you stop scrying so you can defend yourself from the dogs I’m sending your way. They should be there in there soon.”
Franziska closed the book just in time kick a wolf in the face as it went for her leg. She jumped out of the chair and ran to the middle of the room, pulling out her whip in the process.
The wolf glared at her, then charged again. She hit it with her whip, but it barely stopped, only slightly being thrown back as a piece of decaying flesh and bone fell off. Franziska turned to the side and whipped towards the wall, wrapping her whip around one of the rifles. She yanked towards her, caught in her hand, and fired just in time to hit the wolf right in the mouth with a bullet.
