Kristina tapped away at her laptop keyboard. Instead of doing her Math homework, She was on a video game forum. Again.
‘A-HEM?’
She jumped in her seat, then turned to see her forensic teacher and friend Ema Skye with a mischievous grin on her face.
‘Don’t do that!’ snapped Kristina.
‘I can’t resist. It’s so funny seeing you jump like that. You’re just lucky I’m not your Dad! You know how he is with you not doing homework!'
Ema checked her watch. 'Hurry up! We have to meet Apollo at the concert in five minutes!’ Ema replied. Kristina, shocked at what time it was, quickly saved her work and rushed out the door.
During the car ride, Kristina wondered about what the concert would be like. She knew that it'd be good, but she felt something big was going to happen.
'Nah, it's nothing.' she said to herself.
But she couldn't help thinking about it. She clutched her autograph book hoping to get an autograph from her favourite star, Machi Tobaye. Kristina thought he was amazing. He had overcome blindness to become a wonderful pianist. Just thinking about him made her blush.
When they got to the concert, they saw Apollo near the front smiling and waving with Trucy next to him. Quickly, they rushed down the stairs and found their seats.
‘Hello Mr. Justice and Miss Wright.’ Kristina said politely.
They smiled back.‘Nice to see you made it in time.’ Apollo beamed back. "I was worried you'd forget about my surprise and miss out on it."
Kristina suddenly remembered. He had mentioned something about a surprise before. She spent a couple of minutes thinking about it until the curtain went up.

The stage was covered in smoke, and had a lot of lights and glass on it. Music started playing, and then the stars came upon the stage. Lamiroir took her place in front of the microphone,Machi took his place in front of the piano. He started playing first, she sang after. Kristina’s eyes were fixated on Machi’s hands, whenever a slow song played, they moved with such grace and dexterity, with fast songs came fast frantic and strong movements. She was mesmerised by this. She closed her eyes and let the music surround her.
'Hey, wake up sleepyhead!' She heard a familar voice say. She opened her eyes and saw Ema. After looking around, she realised that the concert was over.
'I fell asleep?'
'Yeah, the music must of made you fall alseep. Near the end I felt falling alseep myself, mind you.' Ema said.
'Hey, where did Apollo go?'
They looked around and realised that Apollo and Trucy where near the stage area. They walked quickly to catch up. Kristina looked at Ema with a puzzled face, all Ema could do was shrug back. When they caught up, Apollo noticed them and turned around.
‘And now, for the surprise.’
Grinning, he searched his coat pocket and pulled out four backstage passes. He handed one to Ema and Kristina.
‘Wow! I’ve never been backstage at a concert before!’ Ema said.
‘But what about Mr Gav-‘
Ema stopped her, before she could finish.
‘I’ve NEVER been backstage before!’ Ema gave her a stern look
Kristina rolled her eyes.
'It's always the same with her.' she mumbled to herself.
The four proceeded back stage.
When they got there, they found a bodyguard guarding a grey door.
Apollo spoke first.
‘We’re Lamioir’s special guests. She wants to see us. We have pass-'
‘Nice try fanboy! But I can tell a fake pass when I see it! You kids and your Photoshop sicken me! Beat it, loser!' the bodyguard snapped backed. The door opened.
'Bruce, what's the matter? Why are you yell- Ah Apollo! You’re here!' Lamiroir said.
'What? They’re for real?' Said the bodyguard.
'Yes.' Lamirioir said with a nod. She turned to Apollo.
'Sorry about Bruce here. He's a big fan of mine and it's his fist big concert. Come!' She gestured towrds herself.
'Bruce is a sissy name.' Apollo said with a smug smile. Trucy poked her tounge out. They followed Lamiroir through the door. As she walked down the hall way, Kristina started to become nervous. She was Machi's biggest fan, and now she was going to meet him! She didn't know what to do, what to say, she was so confused. They came to a door with star and "LAMIROIR AND MACHI TOBAYE" on a sign under it. The door opened. Machi sat a table eating something while listening to music. When he saw the visitors, he took off his headphones and greeted them.

'Hello Apollo and Trucy. Hello Miss Ema.'
'Machi! Nice to see you again!' Trucy replied.
He talked to them for a while. While he was Kristina was sweating like a pig. She knew he had to talk to her some time or another. 'What are you doing? You should be happy!' she kept telling herself. It wasn't long before Machi had spotted her.
'An you Kristina, yes?'
When he said these words, Kristina felt her body froze. her heartbeat quickened, her eyes darted to the floor, she was sweating even more now.
'........Um..........I..........I.....'
"Yeah, that's Kristina.' Ema replied for her. She's shy, but give her time, she'll warm up to you. Actually, she's a big fan of yours. She even bought an autograph book for you to sign. I mean, the fop's fangirls scream there head off whenever they see him! AND-'
She kept going on. But Machi didn't care about the fop's fangirls. He cared about Kristina. He smiled at her, making her blush in response.
She couldn't take it anymore at that point. She fainted, then and there.
When she woke up, she recognized Ema's smiling face hanging over her.
'You know, the sight of your face hanging is over me is becoming more and more frequent for some reason.' Kristina said. frowning.
'Hmm...Yeah, that is wierd.' She said with a smile. 'Hey guys! She's up!' Ema said over her shoulder. Kristina heaved herself up to see everbyody sitting at the table Machi was at before talking. Machi got up quickly and rushed over to her.
'You up now?' He said with a smile.
'....Uh...yeah....I..guess. Wha...What happened?' She repiled nervously.
'You falled. Are you.....'
Machi tried to think of the right English word for alright. Kristina could see he was struggling, so she thought she might make it easier.
'I can speak Borgonian, if that's easier.'
Machi was shocked at first, but then smiled.
('Yeah, it is.')
('Okay!') She said with a nervous laugh. He shared the laugh with her. There was an akward silence.
'Someone's got a crush.' Ema whispered to Apollo. He winked back. the whole table was looking at sofa now.
Machi thought he'd break the ice.( 'So, how did you learn Borginian?')
('Huh?....uh....Well, When I first liked you, I thought I should learn it in case I ever met you. So I looked around on the internet, bought tapes and books, and I also learnt off an exchange student I knew.' She laughed a nervous laugh. ('I...I couldn't help but notice your English is-')
('Horrible? Yeah, I know. But I don't know where to learn. Lami said she'd teach me but we've both been so busy lately.') Machi looked discouraged.
She smiled. ('I can teach you.....if you'd like me to.')
He was about to reply when Lamiroir appered from behind them.
'You want to teach him? That would be lovely. I have tried but we've both been busy with our music. You must be good at English, Miss Skye tells me you won a prize for a story?' Lamiroir said.
Kristina blushed. 'Well, it was just for a fan fiction.......nothing...really..'
'How about I ring you some other time and we can organize it?' Lamroir replied.
'Uh...okay!' She said.
'Wonderful.' Lamiroir said joyfully. She went back to the table.
('That sounds so cool! I can't wait to learn English!') Machi said ethusiastically.
'They talked for a little while about learning English, until Ema came over.
'Okay lovebirds, time to wrap it up! Your dad just called you Kris and he wants you home.'
'LOVEBIRDS?!' Kristina and Machi said in surprised unison. Ema giggled.
Kristina turned to Machi.
'Well nice to meet you. Goodbye.' She smiled.
She got up to leave.
"Kristina, wait!' Machi said.
She turned around. 'Yes?'
He hugged her. "Goodbay, and Thankayou.'

In the car ride home, all Kristina could do was look out the window smiling. Ema looked in her car mirror.
'Hey lovebird! Are you going to say anything? You've been looking out of that window for a long time now and I'm starting to get worried.'
Kristina turned around quickly. 'Huh?'
A mischevous grin crept across Ema's face. 'You were thinking about Machi, weren't you?'
Kristina's jaw dropped. 'Was not!'
'Was too.'
'Was not!'
'Was too.'
'Was not!'
'Was too.'
'WAS NOT!! AND IF I WAS THINKING OF MACHI, THEN YOU WERE THINKING ABOUT HOW CUTE MR. GAVIN IS!!'
Ema immediately put her foot on the break, making the tyres screech in the process. She was speechless, but had made a face that could melt lead. Kristina took this
as a warning. Luckily for her, Ema had stopped right outside her house.
'Good night.' Kristina said quietly and meekly, and crept out of the car.
Ema's car sped off down the street. Kristina turned to the front door of her house and walked in. She took off her shoes to make less noise, and crept towards her bedroom.
The next morning she awoke to find her father reading the newspaper and sipping tea, like he always did.
'Morning' She said quickly.
'Good morning' He replied back.
'I assume you had fun at the concert, considering the time you came home last night.' He added sternly.
Kristina almost dropped the bowl she was holding. 'So he noticed.' she thought.
'Yeah...I guess I did.' she replied.
His face softened. 'I also heard about you getting to know that young pianist....what was his name again?'
'Machi?' She blurted out.
'Yes, that's it. Anyway, I also heard something about English lessons?'
'Yeah, I'm going to give him some.' She frowned. 'Who told you this?' she blurted out, starting to get agitated.
He got up. 'Ms Skye, naturally.'
Kristina frowned. 'I'm am going to give that woman a expermental dose of Hydroxolosiulate if doesn't shut her mouth.' she thought.
After breakfast, Kristina walked to her room, lied on the bed and checked the clock. 9:34 am. She sighed and turned on her side. She stared at the phone, longing for it to ring.
'Wait a minute, I look so desperate.' She shook her head and turned onto her back again.
A while later, she heard a crunching noise outside her door. 'The nerve of that woman...'
She got up and looked out side. 'You know Ms Skye, if you really wanted to know what I'm doing, just come right in.' she breathed.
Ema pouted. 'So you got me. What gave it away? Mirrors? Fibre optics?'
'I heard you munching on you Sna-.'
'Ahem? In scientific terms please?'
Kristina sighed. 'The sound waves emitted from your snack treats travelled into my ear and were turned into electrical sig-'
Ema didn't seem to notice what she was saying.
'ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING?' Kristina cried.
Ema jumped and dropped the bag of Snackoos she was holding. They spread all over the floor, as if someone had shot it in midair.
There was a silence.
'I'll get a broom.' Kristina said.
Ema followed her while she went. She was constantly asking her why she was looking at the phone. 'I bet it was about Machi, wasn't it?'
All the way back to her room Ema kept chattering about her and Machi.
'I can't believe that one time you meet someone famous and then they say that they'll call and now your sitting on your bed like someone in a poorly scripted telemovie! You are just like that glimmerous fop's fangirls like today he was talking to this girl an-'
Kristina stopped cleaning up the mess and turned around. 'If you don't shutup right now, I'm gonna call my dad.'
Ema's face fell.
'WAITDON'TCALLHIMI'LLBEGOOD!!' She cried. In deperation she started to scoop up the Snackoos in her hand.
Kristina smirked. 'One mention of my dad and she'll do anything.'
After cleaning up they returned to her bed. 'You know, you didn't say why you came here.'
Ema frowned. 'Why? I can't drop in when I'm the neighbourhood now?' She started to fidget with something in her bag.
'You are so lying.'
"What? I'm not lying!!'
'Your body language says it. Let's see, I noticed you sounded a bit breathless when you came, so you were running. And you only eat dark chocolate Snackoos at crime scenes so.....'
She paused, then she bursted out laughing.
'You were chasing fangirls again! Oh what I pay to see that sight again!'
Ema was embaressed.
'Yeah, I was. But they are so annoying! And this time, one had a frickin' MEGAPHONE!' WHO BRINGS A MEGAPHONE TO A CRIME SCENE?! So I chased those idiotic bimbos outta the park and over here! I almost wasted a packet of good honest Snackoos on those idiots!'
Kristina stopped laughing and gasped. 'Park?...the only park near here is People Park. But...But that's a mile from here!'
Ema pouted. 'New scientific reasearch shows that when people want to do something really badly, they find strength they never thought they had.'
'Uh-huh....' Kristina replied. She fell back on the bed and checked the clock. 12:14 pm. She frowned. 'All this time and no reply? Oh when are they going to call? ......I do sound like someone in a bad telemovie. Oh crap. I hate it when Miss Skye's right.' She turned around and gasped at what she saw. Ema was speaking on the phone.
'GIMME THAT!' She jumped up and grabbed the phone from Ema's hands.
'Hello?'
'Yes, Ema?' It was Lamiroir.
'No no, this is Kristina.' She said while frowning at Ema. Ema giggled back.
'Ah Kristina! Just the girl I was looking for. Now, I managed to get Machi out of a rehearsal on Wednesday for English lessons. Is that good for you?'
Kristina darted to her desk and flipped through a book to sound official. Ema mumbled something to herself.
'Yeah, Wednesday is good.' She grinned.
'Excellent! I'll see you on Wednesday!' Lamiroir replied and hung up.
Kristina put the phone down and twirled and fell on her bed.
"Wednesday's the day I teach him English! she said, elated.
'Oh, brother.' Ema mumbled.
