Title: The Life and Times of Charley the Plant

Summary: Charley tells us his life story from his eyes. Note: There will be series spoilers.

Spoiler: Prologue
Plants don't have ears, I'm told. Or eyes, or brains. But they're wrong. I have memorised everything from when I was bought 12 years ago, up to this current day. And I'm not even close death yet. Yes, I am an old plant.

My name is Charley. And I have decided to tell my story. The story of friendship, losses, new owners, and little girls with magic panties. You shall learn about who bought me, why, and how. You will learn about what I've seen over the years, and the people who treat me with respect, and the people who don't. So let's begin my story...


Spoiler: Chapter One: 12 Years Ago...
I grow up in this dump. “Plou's Planty Place”, the owner calls it. Plou's a big douche bag. He treats us plants with no respect, and as if we have no brain. No feelings, no thoughts. But we do.

The door opens. I cannot continue my thought. A man as big as a house, and as wide as a hot air balloon enters. His head is five times smaller than his body, and somehow he wears glasses that are small compared to his face. He has weirdly combed grey hair to go with his funny grey moustache that won't stop twitching. The man looks quite gross to be honest, because he appears to sweat a lot.

“You my good sir,” says Plou in his usual snivelling tone. “What would you like?”

“Ah, call me Marvin Grossburg. My understudy just won a case, so I wanted to get her a gift. What would be a good one?”

The snivelling thin man adjusts his giant glasses, and points out the plant next to me.

“Th-this plant is a ve-very fun one. It's easy to grow, but doesn't live for more than a year.”

“No. That won't do. What about this?” asks the big fat man as he looks at me as if I'd be his dinner.

I am terrified. I could be eaten by a blimp man called Melvin Grossburgers.

“Ah this is a good one. It can live for a while, but is demanding when it comes to water.”

Demanding, me? How dare he!

Suddenly, the blimp man picks me up, without warning, and shoves me on the counter quite violently.

“How much?”

“Ten bucks for you, bub. Would be fifteen, but I like ya, I do, I do. I like ya.”

And one again, Plou fails at sweet charming his customers. But Melvin Grossburgers gives him the ten dollars, and I am shoved into a white thing. I recall the humans calling it a “bag”.

So, the humans trade good byes, and I am carried out.

Who is this blimp man? Who is this understudy? And where am I going? Am I being kidnapped? It's my first time outside, so I'm not sure. One thing I know is that I'll either be eaten by this big man or I'll get a happy life at last. I hope it's the latter...

Spoiler: Chapter 2: A Shining Beauty
The trip was short. In only a matter of minutes, Mr Grossburgers had carried me from Plou's store to his house. I say carried because I heard the beating thumps of the blimp man's steps. I was obviously worried, because this man looked like he'd eat everything in sight if he could, and I wouldn't be surprised if his fridge was empty.

As we entered, Grossburgers talked to someone. I couldn't see them through this white wall, or the 'bag' as they call it.

“Ah-hemm!” he coughed dramatically. “Is Miss Fey around?”

“Yes,” replied a female voice. It was very tired, and sounded as if it could drone on forever. “She's upstairs. She's been talking to herself about Mr Armando again.”

Mr. Armando? Miss Fey? This man had a lot of friends. Why were they at his house?

“Call on her. I need to talk to her in the office.”

Office? What is he talking about? Is this not a house?

The fat man shoved me down on a desk violently, and took me out of the bag. Finally. I thought I'd be as close to suffocation as a plant could get. Then I heard footsteps again. Getting louder. And louder. AND LOUDER. And then I heard the most beautiful thing I had ever heard.

“Yes?” asked the beautiful woman with her beautiful voice. “What is it Mr. Grossburg? If it involves hemorrhoids, I'm going back upstairs.”

The woman was beautiful. Curvy in every way that a woman would want to be. She had long brown hair down to her back, and had a small fringe covering an eye. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life. She was an angel, and her voice was a choir.

“Ah, this plant is for you. I bought him as a reward for you winning you case. He's, uh, supposed to be your new friend. No matter how weird that sounds...”

I was happy. I would be the best friend of a beautiful lady.

“...A plant? Is that all?”

Heart break.

Then she took a better look at me.

“Aw, it's so cute. I'm calling you Charley...”

She was flushed with amazement with me. She started to examine me from every angle. She was in love. And so was I.

I would remember her for the rest of her life, and vice versa...

Still, at the time I thought that wouldn't be long with Grossburgers around.

Spoiler: Chapter 3: Introduction to an Intern
The next few months past, where nothing happened but Mia caring for me, and occasionally going to a 'trial' and Blimpy...

..Grah, Blimpy. His darn eyes kept looking hungrily at me...

And then suddenly, as I was doing my average staring at whatever was in front of me, a man with hair that stuck back so far that it could be used a coffee table burst in. I remember him well. He was average height and build for someone of his age, but his spiked back hair... what? What is with that hair? Anyway, he was wearing a yellow T-Shirt with a... dog on it? Seriously, what was with this guy?

“MISSS FEEEEY!!!!” he shouted, with the screeching droney voice snapping in the background.

Clearly, he wasn't supposed to be there.

My angel quickly flew down the stairs and hugged the man, but as a greeting. Or at least, I hoped it was a greeting.

“Phoenix, you made it! I know you should have set an appointment, but you need trained somehow,” laughed Mia naughtily.

Training? NO. NO. NO. NO. CANNOT COMPUTE. MIA IS MINE. GET AWAY FROM HER, BIRDY.

Phoenix sat down, without permission, and sighed.

“Law is so tiring. I had to run here, because my bike was hit in a lightning storm a few days ago. Run about a mile from uni! That's so annoying! And all just to talk with a lawyer who saved my life...”

Oh, so it was to talk? Oh, good. BUT THE VOICE CONTINUED WHINING. THIS WAS TORTURE!

“Ok, ok, Phoenix, I get the point. I actually called you here because I need some help with paper work, and Mr. Grossburg and his... ew... hemorrhoids...”

I was used to hearing that disgusting word. Sadly, Phoenix wasn't.

“Too. Much. Info.”
Both of them laughed. I would have too, but I am a plant, so I could never laugh, and sadly never would.

Ha, this is funny. ^^ I think it'd be really interesting to be Charley actually, so I'm very curious about the next chapters. =P

Cool. This is a unique idea. There were a few grammatical errors, but not so many that one couldn't read the story. I'll look forward to more.

You've got a nice angle with this Bsx....provided MiaxCharley and PhoenixxCharley doesn't turn out to me a romantic pairing.....I can see Charley as the kinda plant Mia would talk to when life's got her down. :garyuu:

These two chapters aren't exciting, or funny but this will get interesting later. Maybe.

Spoiler: Chapter 2: A Shining Beauty

Wow, this is a very interesting fanfiction. Seeing things from Charley's point of view really is a unique twist. I eagerly await the next chapter!

I've been busy, so I haven't had time to write any proper half of chapter 3, or chapter 4. But isntead, I wrote a preview of my other fic, that's gonna come relatively soon.

Spoiler: Turnabout in Time
An absolute imbosile...

I've laughed out loud so many times while reading it that I even amazed myself! XD I hardly ever laugh while reading/watching stuff~!

Oh, hi guys, I'm not dead!

Spoiler: Chapter 3 Part 2
“Now that we've had that laugh, let's go out for a walk and discuss business. We can do paperwork later...”

I watched as Beauty and the Beast started to hold hands and walked out of the office.

Unacceptable. Completely unacceptable.

I followed them out with my eyes looking around sleekly. Somehow, I had turned into a human. I bet you are wondering if I could speak.

“Can... I... speak?”

The answer was yes! I could.

“Hah, he shall regret the day he messed with Charley Iffigum Planticus!”

I followed them quietly and slyly. I pulled my hat down as they looked this way. Could they sense my presence?

I jumped out as they were starting to kiss.

“YOU HAVE STOLE MY GIRL! NOW YOU SHALL DIE!”

I grabbed a gun out of my jacket. Bullets came out at alarming rates.

“BOOCHAKKA YEAH!”

I grabbed Mia from the arm. She smiled.

“Ooh, Charley, you're so manly...”

She moved in for a kiss. Then suddenly, a scream!

“Charley, what's happening to you?”

I looked down. I was turning back into a plant.

“NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

I shook out of it. I must have been dreaming. Could plants dream? I had always doubted it until now. I looked around as much as a plant could, but they were gone. Had I been dreaming for a while?

At least I didn't dream of Blimpy. That would of made me wet myself, or maybe just lose water out of my stomata. I don't know.
