Spoiler: 4 years before Amy's Debut
Epilogue - State Vs Justice

The court's gallery mumbled and spoke to each other as the Judge slammed his gavel, trying to silence them

"ORDER! ORDER!... MR. JUSTICE WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS?" the Judge questioned.

Apollo looked dumbfounded "N..no.. The witness isn't telling the truth! I know it! So much contradicts the Court Records.. how can you not see it, your honor! The location of the murder, the ransom letter.. I can prove it!"

The witness smirked "But... You don't have definite evidence, do you Mr. Justice?"

"..."

"I didn't think so... Your honor, I think a verdict is in order..."

The Judge nodded "Mr. Gavin, any last thoughts?"

Gavin looked just as bad as Apollo, completely distraught, head against his desk "...N...no... Herr Judge..."

Apollo yelped at the witness "STOP LYING TO THE COURT! YOU'RE UNDER OATH...! W-..WHY WOULD YOU PIN ME AS THE MURDERER? I TRUSTED IN YOU! YOU'RE MY CLIENT!

The witness scoffed "You're just a pathetic rookie, honestly. Believe in your client? HAH... If you did that, you just might let a murderer get away... I never trusted you... Nobody trusts you anymore...."

Apollo gasped a bit... unable to comprehend what was going on anymore...
"..NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

"If I may hand out my verdict... along side the Jurist System, this court has found, not the defendant, but the Defense, Apollo Justice, guilty of assassination and kidnapping for random... I must say it's a very different day here in court..."

Apollo lied his head in disbelief as tears streamed down his cheeks slowly "No... I didn't hurt anyone... I... I couldn't have... Why won't anyone believe me...?

The court was adjourned, and Defense Attorney Apollo Justice was disbarred, and sentenced to a high security prison however through the miracles of the Jurist system, his sentence was not for his lifetime...

(How does this relate to our story? You'll see eventually)

Episode 1 - Turnabout Confessional

Amy was a nervous wreck, her took a deep sigh of relief, seeing her Mentor walk through the door, She let her hair down and smiled.
"It's nice to see you again, Mr. Wright"

Phoenix patted her shoulder, resting his hand against it firmly as he smirked back "This is no time for formalities... and please, you can just call me Phoenix"

Amy blushed, brushing off a bit of dust from her lapel, her new badge shining and causing a bit of a contrast between the gold badge and her purple outfit.
"Yes sir, Mr Wri-... Phonix!"

Phoenix blinked "P..phonics?"
"Phoenix!.. Argh! I'm so sorry!"
"It's ok, calm down, you need to keep a straight face for your client after all.."
"Oh.. right... sorry.."
"You don't have to apologize so much either..."
"Sorr- ... Anywho.. Who's the defendant?"
"You tell me! This is YOUR trial after all"
"A..ah! Sorry!... Um... Where are the court records?"
"You lost them?"
"N..no! Of course not there.. just... not here...?"
Phoenix sighed. Just then the baliff called him over. "Mr. Wright, The Trial will start in 5 minutes, but before that, the Judge would like to see you in his chambers, please tell Ms. Liberty, she needs to be at her bench"
He nodded and smirked devilishly at Amy "Well I have to run, I'll be by your side in a few, but you need to get going.."
Amy started to yank her hair from stress, whining from frustration "I.. I can't go without my evidence list and the records!"
Phoenix shakes his head "You'll be fine, you best not be late for your first trial..."
Amy sighed and nodded "..O..okay .. Sorr-... I'll just go now.. Ugh.." She lead herself to the courtroom, putting her hair up on the way.
Phoenix chuckled "I don't know what I saw in her..." he said to himself as he made his way to the Judge's Chambers.

The gallery continued to chat until the Judge arrived, being silenced by the echoing slams of his gavel.

"Order! The case of the defendant Dick Gumshoe, is now in session!" the judge bellowed

Amy stayed there silent. The judge blinked a bit confused "...Ms. Liberty, are you ready?"

Amy shook her head "AH?! OH.. YES SIR! MS. AMY LIBERTY IS READY!"

The Judge shook his head back at her " 'The Defense is ready, your Honor' would have worked too"

Amy grinned nervously, wincing and poking her heart tattoo that embraced her right cheek "Sorry, Your Honor... First trial and all..."

The Prosecution snickered evilly "You're worse then I was my first day..."

Amy blinked "A..and who are you?"

He looked up, gazing at the courtroom.. Looking beyond the defense bench to the gallery behind her, and to the judge... all too familiar to him.. "...Amarko Depollo... More ready than she'll ever be."

Amy blinked "O..kay... Mr. Hotshot.. Don't be rude..."

The Judge coughed "Anyhow, the defendant is under the suspicion of theft, a fairly simple case... The Prosecution may give it's opening statement"

Amarko turned his hat around, two large hairs dangle out of the hole, drooping slightly, but not blocking his vision, signifying he's ready. He pulls a paper from his desk, and clears his throat "The defendant was found at 11:30 PM, guarding a safe, being a security guard that he is... however he was then later found stealing a rather valuable document from that same safe. The documents had information pertaining whereabouts of black markets that sold Borginian Cocoons from time to time...There was a witness of course... And I am calling that witness to the stand right now, your honor!"

The judge nodded "Very well, you may call this witness"

Amy looked a bit lost... Oh boy.. this is going to be one hell of a ride...

Amarko nodded back to the judge. "The prosecution calls Mrs. Gumshoe to the stand!"

Amy shook her head in disbelief "WHAT?! THE DEFENDANT'S WIFE WITNESSED THE CRIME HERSELF?!"

The gallery started getting into an uproar, the judge banged his gavel harder then usual "ORDER! ORDER IN THE COURT!.. MS. LIBERTY, I APPRECIATE YOU NOT YELL OUT OBVIOUS STATEMENTS!"

Amy looked down in shame, feeling the wrath of the Judge's scolding. "Sorry..."

A woman with short auburn hair, wearing a security guard uniform, took the stand. Her glasses gleamed in the light as she looked down, keeping reserve.

"Name, Occupation please?" called the prosecution.

She brushed her hair out of her face and calmed down "..M..Maggey Gumshoe.... I'm a Security guard for the Evidence room of Criminal Affairs"

Amy gasped a bit, trying to calm down, though still shocked. ..Why would she be testifying AGAINST her husband? This is insane!

"Ok, let's cut the small talk and hear some Testimony... Testify to what you witnessed, now." Amarko stated rather quickly as he gave Maggey a firm stare.

The Judge stopped for a moment "Hold on a second now, We don't even know her reason for being at the crime scene..!"

Amy nodded and tried to take sides to favor the judge "Yes! I say we should hear more before we get to the testimony!"

"Don't be a kiss up, Ms. Lobotomy... She told us she works at the location of the crime as a security guard with her husband, so obviously they were patrolling together." the prosecution glared at the kiss up attorney.

"L...Lobo-.. IT'S LIBERTY! AND SORRY FOR TRYING TO MAKE A GOOD IMPRESSION!" she said, pounding her knuckles into her desk in anger.

"Heh... Anywho.. Testimony... Now.."

:testimony:
MAGGEY GUMSHOE - "What I Witnessed"

Well as the Prosecution said, I was working with my husband on duty...
We were guarding a big safe, just the two of us... in shifts, that is.
Nobody else went in the room.
After the end of my shift, My husband excused me.
On my way out, the alarm went off. I went back and....
He.. HE DIDN'T DO IT! THAT'S NOT THE DICKIE I KNOW!

Gumshoe shouts from the gallery "I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL ME THAT IN PUBLIC!"

Maggey put her head down "S..sorry hon.."

The Judge snickered a bit before turning to Amy " A..anyhow.. Hehehe.. Um.hehe.. Ms. Liberty, please hehe.. Cross examine the witness."

Amy shook her head in confusion... "Uh...r... OK... C...could you repeat your testimony for me, please?"

Maggey saluted off as she normally would "Yes Sir!"

:examination:
MAGGEY GUMSHOE - "What I Witnessed"

"Well as the Prosecution said, I was working with my husband on duty..."
"We were guarding a big safe, just the two of us... in shifts, that is."

Amy bellowed from her desk "HANG ON!"

Amarko smirked "I believe the phrase was 'Hold it', Ms. Lobotomy"

Amy growled "Oh, you know what, Mr. Acapulco?! You're going to be tasting the sole of my boot in a second if you don't stop that!"

The judge gasped "Ms.. Ms. Liberty! Don't make such accusations in a court of law!

Amarko smirked again "Hehehe... As you were saying... you had something to say to that last statement?"

She nodded "Infact I did! Mrs. Gumshoe! What did you two do when it wasn't your shift?"

Maggey gasped a bit "W..well I myself would go outside and look for four leaf clovers... It's spring you know! You never know what you might find! I need all the luck I can get, mind you!"

Amy blinked, a bit weirded out.. "O..kay... what about your husband?"

"Actually I don't know what he was up to... I think he might have just stood outside.. He's very dedicated to his work..."

"So you have no idea, really?"

"In retrospect, I guess you could say I'm clueless!"

Amy thought to herself Hmm... What should I do... Maybe I'll ask more about... the safe itself...

"So how would one go about opening this safe?"

"This safe is a new sleek design and it responds to fingerprints!"

"How is that new...?"

Amarko smirked "You know nothing? Have you checked the Court Record?"

Amy whined "Actually.. I don't even have my own copy of the Court Record..."

"Pathetic sight.. I suppose you could take a peek at mine..."

Amy growled back "I don't want your sympathy, Amarko!...Then again I stand no chance to win if I don't know anything..."

Amy is handed Amarko's copy of the court record, She glances at the section about the safe.

"So this safe has multiple fingerprints it can recognize? and It also can open by the Camera on top?"

Maggey nods and salutes back "Yes! The Camera takes a snapshot of anyone who tries to open, or has opened it! And it can then use the photos it takes to open as the person is opening it, simply by the face, if it's on the face recognition setting that is!

"Was it on the face recognition setting that night?"

"I don't think so..."

The judge's eyes widen a bit "I think we should have this information added to your testimony, Mrs. Gumshoe. Please if you would"

"Yes Sir!"

-I don't know what my husband was doing when it wasn't his shift, to be honest...-

:objection:

Amy's finger was extended, in the infamous objection pose. She stood there a bit before doing anything. She coughed a bit, embarrassed, not use to doing that as she slammed her desk..

"Uh.. THIS CLEARLY CONTRADICTS HER STATEMENT!" she says, holding up a photo of the crime scene.

The judge looks back at Amy, confused... "The.. Crime scene? How so?"

Amy slouched back a bit against the wall "Uh... I know I saw something.."

"Hehehe... I think someone has no idea what they're talking about..." the prosecution grins at their obviously snide remark.

The judge sighed "If we're done here, I'm afraid I'm going to have to penalize you, Ms. Liberty.

Amy yelps as her penalty was marked down. "Ugh!... Ahh.. sorry.. Let me try that again..."

-And I don't know what setting the safe was on...-

:objection:

"Again?, Ready to just penalize your way out of here, huh?" Amarko pinched the skin between his eyebrows and grinned at her

Amy slammed her desk "YOUR HONOR! TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!" she said, holding up a picture of the safe.

"Hmm.. What's this?"

"A picture of the safe! A before and after I might add!"

Amy pointed to the left side of the photograph "Before" then to the right "After... See a difference yet, your honor?"

The judge looked closely at the photo and then gasped "A..Ahh! The safes are different!"

Amy nodded "Not two different safes, your honor! Two different modes and two different times! This picture was taken by the security camera hidden in the hedges by the safe! In the after picture, you can obviously see a finger print scanner extended out of it. In the before, a camera screen! You get it yet, your honor?"

The judge shook his head "Not entirely... What about you, Mr. Depollo?"

Amarko sighed and fiddled with the hair dangling out of his cap "I think she's getting herself into a mess of trouble, but go ahead and explain to us, what exactly this means... The different pictures.."

Amy laughs proudly "You just watch, I'll show you not to mess with Lady Liberty! If it was set to the face recognition first, shown by this before picture, then that means someone could have DRESSED UP AS MR. GUMSHOE AND FOOLED THE COMPUTER!"

Maggey nodded "T..That's right! It's possible!"

The gallery began to take what Amy said into account, talking about it amongst themselves.

"ORDER! Ms. Liberty, that's fine and all but if that's the case, how did it switch back to the Fingerprint recognition mode?" the judge questioned.

Amy grinned "If the person was dressed as Mr. Gumshoe, they could have easily told the program to switch modes!

"He..he..he... you're not under the impression someone was there were you?" Amarko snickered evilly and looked at Amy with a stern look on his face..

"E..Excuse me?!"

" 'Could have?' 'It's possible?' and on top of that, Maggey said herself that they were the only ones there... unless you have some kind of proof that there was a 3rd party?"

Amy backed up against the wall in despair "W..WHAT?!... Er... I don't... Um.. That's to say..."

Amarko frowned.. ""But... You don't have definite evidence, do you Ms. Liberty?"

Amy winced "AH!.. I"

Amarko sighed "Ah well.. Rookies..."

:objection:

The judge stared blankly "...Who... wait... That voice"

Phoenix had appeared beside Amy, who had her face buried in her desk. "Amy.. Sorry I'm late, but it looks like I made it just in the nick of time."

Amy looked up to see her Mentor, who had placed his hand on her shoulder comforting her from despair "...P..Phoenix!"

"Now that I'm here, you can prove there was a 3rd person in that evidence room."

"W..wHAT?! H..how!"

Phoenix hands Amy her copy of the Court Record "I found this for you.. oh.. and I added a bit of evidence in there..."

"..What?"

"You'll see...Your Honor, if I may, I'd like a 10 minute recess"

The judge looked dumbfounded "Uh... OK... Does the prosecution have any objections?"

Amarko stared at phoenix, growling.

"..M..Mr Depollo?"

Amarko grumbled through his teeth "...N..o... Objections..."

The Judge blinked and nodded "Very well.. Court is ajourned for a 10 minute recess"

The judge bangs his gavel and the court is dismissed temporarily.
