Writer's Note:
I apologize if I screwed up, which I know I have to have done.... Anyways. Yes. I hope you enjoy reading my writing for I am a novice at fics and would appreciate criticism that will be constructive and useful in the future. If anyone wants, they can PM me to be part of it, hopefully I can illustrate through the fic your character's being in general. I barely know the personalities of the PW characters, but am trying my best to depict them.
Thanks for reading,
DokenMan
PS: If I screwed up, DO NOT HESITATE TO INFORM ME! I WILL NOT LET YOU SLIP! Thank you.
------ March 22 - 6:30 PM - Joe's Diner, Lake Akina ------
"I see you found out. There's no need for you anymore, Takazato."
A bruised individual staggered to get up. Apparently, he had been injured in several places and deathly sick.
"What the hell are you talking about? Urg--!"
Drip, drip. drip. "Ack! You little bastard... You planned this!"
The mysterious one then smirked, laughing as he did so.
"That's right, little man. And anything you do will only benefit me."
Standing there, he watched his victim limp away. Unknowing of the events that would follow....
".... (I have to get the hell out of here and tell someone before time's up!)"
Foosteps were heard. A man wearing a t-shirt and a plain white bandanna showed up, concerned.
"RY! Dude, what the hell happened to you?"
A blood-covered hand was placed on his shoulder as the now dying man spoke.
"Listen... there's something I need to tell you--!"
------ March 23 - 7:00 AM - Takazato Residence, Keisuke's Room -------
BRRRING! BRRRRRIIIINNNNGG!!!
"What the hell!" A hand was thrust at the clock, sending it out the window again. A loud crash was heard in the street as the same clock was run over. "Dammit, now the neighbors'll be bitchin' about that too." Raven black hair was straightened out as the man sat up straight, eyes squinting as the hands searched for the visor that allowed him to see in the day. He grabbed it, and used a guiding stick as he walked to shower. The walk itself wasn't the problem. It was the room. Not too fancy, but rather clean and defined. Not too large, yet seemingly so. Plain white walls were the scene, as the dark blue carpet left prints of his foot. He forgot to vacuum due to a race he had the same day he was supposed to. Once he was finished, the visor with the three red lines that glowed in the dark was placed on and hair was slicked back. Suit straightened, tie worn, the dark clad attorney checked his watch. Woke up on time at the cost of his clock... bad omen, he thought. His cell rang, and he could hear it from where he stood, which was his closet. The closet itself was a massive collection of suits, and all sorts of costumes which were gifts from people he helped out. The man couldn't help himself, really. He loved to 'cosplay'. The guy had hobbies that many wouldn't take as far as he does.
Left hand was then reached toward the phone, picking it up and answering.
"KT! DUDE, GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE!"
That same voice rang loudly, almost causing pain in his ear. A growl was uttered as he calmed down and responded.
"Goddammit, Kyo. That's the detention center you're at. What the hell're they holding you in for now?"
Kyo Nakamura. Good friend of the Takazato Family, problem was... his luck was worse than Maggey Byrde's on a really bad day.. except that's every day for him.
"This is freakin horrible. RY died last night and they think I killed him! You've gotta prove me innocent, man! You're my only hope!"
"And yet you didn't contact any of the Diamond Brothers?" "Dude. I forgot the firm's number... and I gotta tell you something!" "Make it quick, jackass. You called me out of nowhere and I don't know what the hell's up. Explain."
KT just sighed and wrote something down on a piece of paper he saw in the corner of his vision. ".... RY was killed last night and there's no real suspect other than yourself. Dammit, Kyo. I'll get to the bottom of this. You stay put and don't pick your nose in front of the camera again."
Phone was then hung up and placed in KT's pocket. Dress shoes were donned as a cup of coffee was being prepared by an automatic machine, and a robot butler who was constructed by KT himself. It was called an EdgeBot. A robot designed to not only be a robot clone of Keisuke, but also build to do household chores. It was the one who brought his coffee to him. Which he consumed along with some toast and a bagel. it bowed to him as he grabbed his keys, unlocking the hatchback framed black comet called the FairLancer. It had a seemingly natural looking spoiler, its frame was modified by the firm's mechanical division, where the racers really work. Mechanical orchestra sounded as the key was turned, giving the engine life. Seat belt was buckled as the clutch was stomped on, allowing the gears to shift, and for KT to drive.
------ March 23 - 8:00 AM - Project Black Mage Law & Tune ------
Cards were shuffled, and made to go from one hand to the other. Three scars covered each eye of the one shuffling. He looked blind, but he could see clear as day. White hair bristled as the cards went by, partially covering the small circular-lens red glasses resting at the tip of his nose. White suit was almost bright as day, too. A card was then seized and picked. It was the Ace of Spades. Setting it down, he looked to the door of the firm. In stormed Keisuke Takazato. The man merely motioned for him to come to the desk.
"Keisuke-san, I believe you heard." He said in a seemingly cryptic voice. Keisuke knew what type of speak he was going to speak next...
"The ace of spades has befallen a comrade, and justice has seized the unfortunate joker."
"Figures for the youngest of the Diamond brothers to speak like that. (If he wasn't such a cryptic guy, he wouldn't be renowned for his capability of turning hopeless cases into victories. ... Damn Ace. He was nicknamed Mr. Wright on occasion for that.)"
"I'll stop being a poet now. Kyo's been in the detention center since last night at 8PM. There's a lot of BS going around that he killed RY. Which we both know can't happen since not only can RY take him one on one, he wouldn't do it out of a respect to us. Plus he owes us a load of favors, anyway..."
KT pulled out the note and showed it to man.
"Ace, I wrote down what Kyo testified." "I know that. He told me as much ten minutes ago. I heard the guards trying to peel him off the phone before I asked him to put them on the phone, told them to stop and allow me to speak with him for a minute more. I think that pissed off someone there."
"Yeah. Judging by this testimony alone, I'd say something's fishy. Investigation is open for us now. Think you can follow in your DD0?" "I will in a minute. I have to pull a load of strings today to get an honest outcome, so beware, the witnesses are vicious. Like Kudo from the State vs Maggey Byrde case. Or that's what the detective on the scene says."
"(.... No freakin way. If that detective is who I think he is..... then the store owner has to be one of them) I'll go check the scene out. I expect you and someone else to go get information from Kyo. I doubt he gave me his full story. (Although they might think we're up to no good. Gumshoe'll come out in the end for us. He did for Wright... Speaking of which. I need to talk to him before we hit the scene.)"
------ Wright & Co. Law Offices - 10:00 AM ------
"DAAAAD!!!!" A voice sounded. "DAD! YOU HAVE A PHONE CALL!" The near-shrill tone came from a young girl. She looked young at least, quite possibly KT's age at 21. Either way, the magical girl had shaken the man awake. The spiky haired, seemingly disturbed and yet calm&collected woke up from his nap. Patting the girl on the head with a smile he picked up the phone.
"Hello? Wright & Co. Law Firm, this is Phoenix Wright."
"Phoenix! Meet me at Lake Akina, a friend of mine was arrested yesterday, and last time I checked, you're the only one capable of helping me out. I'm already on my way so I'll be waiting."
"Hmm.. Can you give me a ride? You are aware that I don't have a car....." "Blah! I'll be heading there, then. Listen for the muffler." Click went the phone as suit was straightened out, the blue sheen freshly ironed half an hour ago by the girl in the office. Her name was Trucy. Adopted daughter of Phoenix Wright and magician. Apparently, KT (upon first sight) knew from the start she knew Wright otherwise she probably wouldn't be partially cryptic like Wright himself was. Plus he thought she was a major cutie.
Loud muffler sounded outside. It was KT and he locked the car right after getting out and rushing to the door.
"Hey there, Wright! I've business to talk with you. You heard about the murder case. And I'm still a newbie attorney."
"Keisuke, you've been an attorney for two years and had three cases." "Yeah. But this time, I want you to be there when I win. This is proof that I can show my mettle against the prosecutors!" Phoenix was then making that cold sweat expression. "(This guy came here out of a matter of PRIDE!?) Are the other guys coming?" "No, and sorry about calling you on such short notice. I didn't come here to hit on Trucy for once."
Trucy, being her energetic and cheerful self just clapped in glee. "Ooh, and you'll be using that fancy car of yours to get us there, yeah?" KT could not help but he blushed. If anyone read his face as his brother did, they would know he had a crush on Trucy. Mostly because she gave off this cheerful demeanor that made him feel at home, even at the Wright & Co. offices. "Eheheh... Well, that fancy car of mine'll get us there in less than 20 minutes." Phoenix was still in that cold sweat. "20 minutes!? KT, no offense or anything, but are you insane? That'd be like flying!" KT busted out that tsk tsk tsk pose that Miles always did during his case against Mia. "No offense taken, sensei. But you're talking to a legend on the streets. That car is tuned for the highways and mountains. Faster than time passing during an episode of the Nickel Samurai, and classier than a Rolls Royce. That is my Fair Lancer, sir." Phoenix just kept that look on his face. Every time he was in the FL with KT at the wheel, seemingly enough, only Trucy was able to enjoy the ride that scared Nick more than roller coasters.
------ 20 minutes later, Lake Akina. Scene of the crime ------
"YAY! That was fun, KT! Apollo would probably have passed out before the first five minutes!" Trucy had straightened her hat, smiling the way out of the car. Phoenix.... was well making use of a trashcan nearby. And from the looks of it, losing both his lunch and last night's dinner. "KT... don't ever do that again." "Sorry, man. Project BM policy. Practice at all times. Speed limits don't exist." "(Then either hit the Wangan or go to the Autobahn!)"
The scene was surrounded by police tape and many many cops. One of them tried to stop KT, but he showed his attorney's badge.
"Sorry, sir. The detective is waiting for you." The policeman bowed, making an expression that would have shown hate toward KT if seen.
A middle-aged man approached the trio. A few spikes of hair seemed to be on one side only, whereas the rest of it was in a plain fashion, short and plain. He seemed to have somewhat of a five-o-clock shadow about his chin and was wearing an olive drab coat. It looked rather old, too. Plain grey shirt, plain brown slacks and shoes, and plain brown tie. That was the detective, that was... Gumshoe.
"Hey there, pal! I heard about your loss and feel for you. Honestly, I do." Gumshoe said whole patting him on the shoulder. That angered KT slightly, but he showed a smirk instead, seeing as the anger also made him laugh a bit. "Cut it, Gumshoe. I can understand that, though. What I'm here for is an investigation. If I win this one by myself, I'm treating you to drinks since you can't afford where I go." "Way to hit a guy where it hurts, pal." A giant pat was given on the detective's shoulder as well as a noogie to the head. "Aw, Gumshoe! You know I'm kidding. But the treat was serious though." Phoenix had just finished throwing up and washed out his mouth at a nearby fountain. Approaching the rest of them, he looked at Gumshoe.
"Gumshoe, do you know any specific details about the case?" Gumshoe lit up like a kid at a toy store. "I sure do, pal! There was a guy who apparently was at the scene of the crime, and that of course is someone you know. The victim had the crap beat out of him. Then we found this." He then presented a bag that held a bottle of what looked to be potassium cyanide (a classic, don't you all think?). Keisuke then examined it. "PC? What the hell. Isn't this the stuff that offed several victims in previous cases?" "Nothing but, pal. You see, the victim was apparently poisoned at the crime scene. The witnesses are being jerks and the defendant claims to have seen another person there." Phoenix was deep in thought then. "(How could that have been happening? There must have been some sort of cover up here.) Gumshoe, the defendant for the trial has been saying this the entire time?" Gumshoe let out a bit of a sigh, then looked at Wright with a serious look on his face. "That's pretty much it. Kinda nostalgic, isn't it?"
"..." KT was just.. apalled. Kyo mentioned that before. And as usual, everyone knew things way before Gumshoe told them. "Anyway..." KT began. "I will defend Suspect Nakamura in the trial. When is it, again? I was informed recently of this case, but wasn't told of the time or day. (Thanks to that idiot who I'll be defending in front of the entire team.)" Trucy was looking at KT then. His facial expression was as stony as stony can get. He was deadly serious and wanted revenge now. Someone killed his brother and framed his friend. This was a decleration of war. And justice will be served.
