Hey Folks, SilentBobX Here. (If you couldn't tell...)

Just dropping by to post a Script of a story I'm Writing. I say Script Because I plan on using this Script to make a game for when A certain Casemaker comes out. If you have a General feel of how Conversations go about In AA games, then, it shouldn't be too hard to Follow. I guess, Since I plan on making a game out of this, Consider this Script to have Spoilers, until I make said game. For now though, i'd also like to make this an Interactive experience, so I'll leave the story with a sort of Question asked Cliffhanger, and until poeple get the answer right, I'll continue the story. ( just Like ACe Attorney ) For now, please Enjoy, Checkmate and Turnabout.

It is the middle of the day. Two men are sitting at a chess table in People Park, playing a game. Moments later the game ends.

???: It’s over. Checkmate…

???: Wh-What!?

???: You see. The Knight has your King trapped.

???: B-but! There has to be… I can make another-

???: Look at the board all you want… there are no other moves that can be made. It’s over.

???: Nrgh!

???: Sorry, but it looks like I can’t give this to you.

???: Noooooooooooooo!!

One of the men got up and reached his hands around the others neck. With an intense look in his eyes, his hands wound tighter around the throat of his opponent.

???: urgh! Aghck! W-Wght! Aggggggggggghhhhck…..

A sudden shock of horror filled the assailants face. He had just committed a murder in broad daylight. He looked around and saw that nobody had seen what he had done.

???: Wh-what have I done!? I-I killed him…

His attention was then turned to a painting canvas. He had an idea.

???: That painter! Yeah… I’ll make it look like… heh heh heh…

Evidence:
Spoiler:
Attorneys Badge: Sis’s Attorneys badge. I keep it with me, in memory of her.
Painting: A Painting Mr. Gerpain drew on the day of the murder. It’s a portrait of two men beginning to play a game of chess
Autopsy Report: Craig Craftmen. Strangled to death. Died at 3:25 pm

Profile:
Spoiler:
Phoenix Wright: He’s an ace attorney. Sort of. He’s also late for the trial.
Finn Gerpain: The Defendant. A painter who has a nervous personality. He uses only his fingers to paint portraits. I guess that means he’s a Finger Painter.
Winston Payne: A so called “Rookie Killer” that couldn’t even beat Nick or Sis.
Craig Craftmen: The Victim. Seems he was a famous craftsman. He broke his leg an in accident a week ago.

March 28, 9:50AM District Court, Defendants Lobby No. 2

Maya: (Hmm Nick’s not here yet… I wonder what’s taking him.)

???: Ah! Uh.. h-hello Ms. Fey…

A person, who is wearing a smock, with colored hand prints all over, appears with a nervous look on his face.

Maya: Ah! Hello Mr. Gerpain! You’re looking well!

Finn: Er… I-I beg to differ. I don’t look, or feel well. My stomach hurts a bit.
See, I’ve never been to court before. Much less, been accused of murder for that matter… Ohhh…

Maya: You have nothing to worry about Mr. Gerpain! Nick is sure to get you off the hook.

Finn: Ah! Yes! You mean Mr. Wright. I-I can’t thank the two of you enough for taking my case.

Maya: Yeah. You’re quite lucky. Nick and I were passing by the park on a walk, after we ate at Mr. Eldoon’s. Nick was very curious when he saw all the police officers at People Park.

Finn: Yes. That’s when I met you two.

Maya: Yeah! You were returning to the scene of the crime!

Finn: *urk* W-well, I was on my way to get the painting I finished back… It still doesn’t make sense why I was arrested.

Maya: By the way, Mr. Gerpain, I saw your painting! It looks wonderful!

Finn: Heh heh… I-I guess…

Maya: I even have it here! See? You said you used your fingers to paint it, right?

Finn: Yes! I, as an artist, believe one should feel what they are painting. That way we ourselves have an understanding of what it is we create. … B-but most artists see it as nothing more then childish finger painting… *sigh*

Maya: But there’s so much detail. The picture of the two men playing chess, the pieces on the board, the squirrel dashing back and forth for nuts!

Finn: That squirrel was a pain! I had to rely on memory to remember what he looked like and what he was doing. And that sound he kept making. *Ntch, Ntch, Ntch* How irritating…

Maya: (My name is Maya Fey. I’m Nick’s Assistant at the Wright and co. Law Office’s. There was a murder a few days ago at the newly constructed People Park. After we ate some Noodle’s, Nick and I took a walk around the area and came upon the scene of the crime. When we got the details of the murder, Nick felt he couldn’t just stand around and do nothing, and said he would take Mr. Gerpain’s case and defend him.)

Finn: Uh.. M-Ms. Fey?

Maya: Yes?

Finn: I-I may be new to this “Defendant” thing and all, b-but shouldn’t Mr. Wright have been here by now?

Maya: Yeah, now that you mention it, where is Nick?

Finn: Agh! He didn’t ditch me did he!? I-I’m gonna be Guilty, Aren’t I!? AGH! HELP!!

Maya: D-don’t worry Mr. Gerpain! I’ll call Nick on my Cell phone and see if he’s here yet! (Yeesh, Nick! You sure like to cut it close!)

Maya takes out her Cell phone. *Ring*ring* *Ring*ring* *Click*

Phoenix: Zzz… h-hello… Zzz

Maya: … Nick?

Phoenix: Zzz… Wha-what, Maya… iszit time fer breakfast yet? Zzz…

Maya: … Nick!? Wh-why do you sound so tired!? A-are you still in bed!?

Phoenix: *snore* Zzz… I jus’ got sum sleepy… Give me five more minutes… Zzz…

Maya: Wha-What are you talking about!? The Trial Starts in less then five minutes!! Do you mean to tell me you’re still in bed!!?

Phoenix: Zzz… trial… ………. TRIAL!!!!!? AGHHH!!!

Finn: M-M-M-M-Ms. Fey!!? He- He’s still-!?

Maya: Ah ha ha! Don’t worry! It’ll be fine! RIGHT, Nick!!?

Phoenix: Agh! I-I can’t believe I totally slept in! I was so busy looking over the evidence! I didn’t have time-

Maya: Nick, What’ll we do!? H-how are we-

Bailiff: Court will be in session, momentarily. Please make sure the defendant is ready!

Finn: AGH! HELP! HEEEELP!!

Phoenix: … I didn’t just hear that, did I?

Maya: Grrr… Nick! How long until you get here!?

Phoenix: I’m just leaving now! Ah! It’s raining cats and dogs!

Maya: What does that mean!?

Phoenix: It means it’ll be hard for me to get a Taxi! Maya… If I’m not there in time, you’re going to have to proceed with the trial without me!

Maya: … What? …

Phoenix: You’re going to have to run the Trial in my Absence! I’m sorry, I can’t think of anyway out of this!

Maya: … What? …

Phoenix: Gah! There’s not a cab in sight! I’ll just have to hoof it! This’ll take a lot longer then I thought! Maya, you still there!?

Maya: … What?...

Phoenix: Sorry, Maya! Look, I’ll be there when I can! *Click*

Maya: ……. What!? …

Finn: M-M-M-M-Ms. F-F-F-F-F-Fey!!

Maya: Ah heh, heh! W-we just have to wait for Nick and-

Bailiff: Court is in session! Will the defense please bring the accused to the court room?

Maya: Eeeek!

Finn: W-well I guess we don’t have a choice…

Maya: I guess we don’t…

Maya: (Just great! I’ve never run a trial before! Why did Nick, of all times, have to sleep in on a court day! Aghhhh! Someone, help me!)

March 28th 10:00AM, District Court, Courtroom No. 2

People are in the observers box, muttering. Maya and Mr. Gerpain are standing behind the defense bench, with Winston Payne standing across from them behind the Prosecutors bench. The Judge’s gavel slams down for silence.

Judge: Court is now in session for the trial of Mr. Finn Gerpain.

Payne: The Prosecution is ready, you’re Honor.

Maya: Umm…

Judge: Hmm... I say, Mr. Wright, are you ready or not?

Maya: Uh… well uh, that um…

Judge: W-wait a moment… You’re not Mr. Wright? … Are you?

Maya: Uh, no you’re Honor… I’m his assistant… Maya Fey. (And I’m Ms. Not a Mr.…)

Judge: Assistant!? Where the devil is Mr. Wright!

Maya: He uhh… he’s running a little late you’re honor. So uh… I’m kind of a temporary replacement. I-if that’s okay…

Judge: Well… th-this is most unprecedented. In Mr. Wright’s Absence, are you up to defending the defendant?

Maya: Well… Uhh… maybe?

Judge: Hmm… Mr. Payne. Does the Prosecution have any objections to the defense?

Payne: Well… *mumble* heh heh heh, no you’re honor. The Prosecution has no objections.

Maya: (Did I just hear him mutter “Easy win”?)

The gavel Slams down.

Judge: Very well. The court has no objections in allowing Ms. Fey to being the defense attorney in Mr. Wright’s place.

Finn: W-Will it be okay, Ms. Fey?

Maya: Ahh… maybe… *gulp*

Finn: *sigh* So much for Optimism…

Judge: However, before we begin, I would like to ask Ms. Fey a few questions.

Maya: Y-yes?

Judge: I assume you know a few of the details of this case?

Maya: I-I think I do… (Gah! I spaced out a few times as Nick was investigating…)

Judge: In that Case, Could you please tell me the name of the Victim. You should at least know that much.

Maya: R-right… the Victim! Er it’s uh…

Finn: M-Ms. Fey?

Maya: (I never really asked Nick what the name was! Wh-what do I do?)

Finn: W-well I’m sure he kept a record of the victim somewhere…

Maya: (record?)

Judge: Ms. Fey, your answer please.

A. Craig Cadaver

B. Cane Bullard

C. Craig Craftmen

Maya: The Name of the Victim… Oh Yeah! It’s Craig Craftmen!

Judge: Very good. It seems you do know a bit about the case.

Maya: (It was actually more of a lucky guess…)

Judge: Now, we know who the victim was. How did he come to being murdered?

Maya: Murdered?

Finn: W-well Ms. Fey? Do you know?

Maya: Not off the top of my head… Do you know?

Finn: AGH! If I knew, wouldn’t that mean I did it!?

Maya: OH! You’re right! Sorry… (Hmm, let me check the court records…)

Judge: Well, Ms. Fey, let’s have your answer. How did the victim die?

A. Blunt Trauma

B. Strangled to Death

C. Dropped dead

Craig Craftmen: The Victim. Seems he was a famous craftsman. He broke his leg an in accident a week ago.

Maya: the victim was strangled to death you’re honor.

Judge: Very good, Ms. Fey. I believe the court has an understanding of who the victim was and how he died.

Maya: Um… thank you you’re honor. (Phew! Managed not to mess up so far…)

Judge: Now, Mr. Payne, do you think you can give us a few more details about the case.

Payne: Certainly, you’re honor. A few days ago the victim, Mr. Craftmen, was playing a game of chess at People Park. After the game had finished he was sitting over at a bench not far from where the game was played.

Judge: He went to sit on a bench? Was he tired from his game?

Payne: We assume so you’re honor. I have a picture of the victim to present as evidence.

Judge: Hmm… Let’s have a look, shall we?

The picture looks to be of man, with his head looking straight up. He has sunglasses on with a white hat on his head and wears a white suite. Behind him, is the chess table, where a game was played. On the ground, by the table, are two crutches. Behind the chess table is the painting Mr. Gerpain painted.

Payne: The purpose of this picture is to show where the victim was killed.

Judge: The Court accepts this picture into Evidence.

*Crime Photo #1 Accepted into court records.*

Spoiler:
Attorneys Badge: Sis’s Attorneys badge. I keep it with me, in memory of her.
Painting: A Painting Mr. Gerpain drew on the day of the murder. It’s a portrait of two men beginning to play a game of chess

Crime Photo #1: A picture of the victim’s body. He lies dead on a bench not far from where he was playing a game of Chess.

Judge: However, I’m a bit confused. Why was the defendant arrested? What points to him as being the murderer?

Payne: I’m glad you asked you’re honor. I have a witness who can describe why Mr. Gerpain can be the only person who could have murdered Mr. Craftmen.

The observers murmur to themselves, and are quieted down with three smacks of the gavel, from the Judge.

Judge: Very well! Please bring in the first witness.

Maya: (You can show up anytime now, Nick! Please!! NOW!!!)

Detective Gumshoe has arrived on the witness stand.

Payne: Witness, please state your name a occu-

Gumshoe: HA HA!! This is it, pal! Today’s the day where I finally show you a thing or two here in court! Ho, ho, ho!

Maya: Uh… okay…

Gumshoe: This case is pretty much closed, pal! So I hope you don’t plan on…

Detective Gumshoe looks around with confusion.

Gumshoe: Huh? Hey… Where’s Mr. Wright?

Maya: Oh, uh… Nick’s running a… uh… little late.

Gumshoe: WHAT!? Running away!? That sneaky lawyer! Just when I land a case that’s pretty much open and shut, he goes off and runs away!

Maya: He’s running late detective! Not running away!

Gumshoe: Oh! Sorry, pal. My noggin still hurts from last week.

Judge: Detective, please keep it down! There’s no reason to be loud this early in the morning.

Gumshoe: S-sorry you’re honor…

Payne: Ahhh… yes I believe we know who the witness is. Now detective Gumshoe, can you please share your testimony on why you arrested Mr. Gerpain.

Gumshoe: Yes, Sir Mr. Payne.

Finn: Wh-what now, Ms. Fey?

Maya: Well… Nick and I usually listen to what the witness says. So, I think its best we pay attention right now.

Finn: Oh! Okay… sounds, uh…. Easy.

Maya: Well, with Detective Gumshoe on the stand…

Gumshoe’s TESTIMONY:

We got a call around 3:30 near the park.

We got there as soon as we could.

The victim was sitting on the bench, dead, at the park.

A few minutes later while investigating, the defendant, Mr. Gerpain show’s up at the scene.

The evidence we found near the victim’s body, suggests that it could only have been the defendant.

Judge: Hmmm… so the Defendant came back to the crime scene?

Gumshoe: He most likely came back to get his painting equipment. He did say it was his.

Judge: Quite the foolish move on the defendant’s part. Now, Ms. Fey, it’s time for the Cross Examination.

Maya: Uh… Yeah… that… *gulp*

Finn: M-Ms Fey? I don’t think he said anything, contradicting. Did he?

Maya: Yeah, I was just thinking that. Detective Gumshoe usually slips up during his testimony…

Finn: Th-then what do we d-do?

Maya: Well, when Nick needs more information… He Press’s the Witness to try and squeeze more info out of them. (For now, that’s what I’m going to have to do…)

CROSS EXAMINATION

We got a call around 3:30 near the park.

Spoiler:
:holdit:

Maya: So… 3:30… That’s five minutes after the victim died.

Gumshoe: We weren’t too late. We met up with the witness as soon as we got there,

Maya: (Hmm… not much to go on there. I guess I shouldn’t press him without thinking.)

We got there as soon as we could.

Spoiler:
:holdit:

Maya: As soon as you could? So, you arrived pretty fast?

Gumshoe: Yup! It took about three minutes to get there.

Maya: But you still got a call five minutes after the murder. You don’t suppose anything suspicious could have happened before you got there?

Gumshoe: We thought of that. But as it turns out the person who witnessed the murder had to run off and find a payphone. It would have taken him at least a minute to find one.

Judge: You mean they didn’t have a cell phone?

Gumshoe: No sir, we checked with the witness. He said he used a payphone near an art store.

*map added to court records.*

Evidence: Attorneys Badge: Sis’s Attorneys badge. I keep it with me, in memory of her.
Painting: A Painting Mr. Gerpain drew on the day of the murder. It’s a portrait of two men beginning to play a game of chess
Autopsy Report: Craig Craftmen. Strangled to death. Died at 3:25 pm
Map of People Park: A map that shows the area.
Crime Photo #1: A picture of the victim’s body. He lies dead on a bench not far from where he was playing a game of Chess.

Judge: I see… Carry on detective.

The victim was sitting on the bench, dead, at the park.

Spoiler:
:holdit:

Maya: He was on a bench?

Gumshoe: He must have walked over there when the game was finished.

Payne: Was the defendant anywhere near by?

Gumshoe: We didn’t see him till later, when he came back to the scene.

A few minutes later while investigating, the defendant, Mr. Gerpain show’s up at the scene.

Spoiler:
:holdit:

Maya: But, when Nick and I met with him by the front entrance, he had no idea what was going on!

:objection:

Payne: I’m sure he’d like you to think that! Mr. Gerpain probably saw you walk up and decided to take the chance and make an alibi out of the two of you.

Maya: But… that… (Urk! That kind of makes sense!)

Finn: Ms. Fey! I-I’d never do that! I honestly went back for my painting!

Maya: Well, then what else makes you think Mr. Gerpain did it?

The evidence we found near the victim’s body, suggests that it could only have been the defendant.

Spoiler:
:holdit:

Maya: Evidence?

Gumshoe: We found two pieces of evidence that suggest Mr. Gerpain choked the victim at the bench.

Judge: What are these two pieces of evidence, detective?

Gumshoe: Right next to the victim was a paint set. Colors of paint lined up next to each other in a pouch.

Maya: And the other piece?

Gumshoe: There was also a paintbrush on the ground near the victim. The defendant must have dropped them as he was choking the victim.

*Paint set and Paintbrush added to court records*

Evidence: Attorneys Badge: Sis’s Attorneys badge. I keep it with me, in memory of her.
Painting: A Painting Mr. Gerpain drew on the day of the murder. It’s a portrait of two men beginning to play a game of chess
Autopsy Report: Craig Craftmen. Strangled to death. Died at 3:25 pm
Map of People Park: A map that shows the area.
Crime Photo #1: A picture of the victim’s body. He lies dead on a bench not far from where he was playing a game of Chess.
Paintbrush: Found near the Victims body. It’s assumed to belong to Mr. Gerpain.
Paint set: Mr. Gerpain’s painting equipment. Has room for only colored paint.

Gumshoe: My guess is he came back to the crime scene for those items.

Gavel slams down

Judge: That sounds like an important bit of information. Detective Gumshoe, please add this to your testimony.

Gumshoe: Yes, sir!

Finn: H-hey! W-w-w-wait a minute!

Maya: Huh? What’s wrong Mr. Gerpain?

Finn: it’s that i-i-i-i-i-item? I-i-i-i-I d-d-d-don’t-

Maya: (Yikes! He’s stuttering up a storm! But… something doesn’t seem right… I think there’s something I should present in the testimony…)

The defendant must have come back for his paintbrush and paint set.

:holdit:
Maya: So Mr. Gerpain came back just for that?

Gumshoe: That’s what I think at least. I mean he is a painter. You can’t draw pictures without that stuff.

Maya: I guess not…

Maya: (Hmm… I think there’s a contradiction hidden in that testimony. If Nick were here, I’m sure he’d spot it in a second! I just need to get all the info I need and see what I can do, with what I gather.)

haha, this is the first "fanfic" that lets the poster decides on what to do :D nice idea and good job ^^; This is fun :D though it's more of a roleplay (?) thing than fanfic...i think :O

P.s. Nice avi :D cool spite edit ;D though, Maya's eyes look a little weird to me...to almond shaped...ish lol :maya:

You're close.

Some may have missed it because it couldn't be Spoiler tagged, ( I can't spolier tag in a spoiler tag :igarashi: )
The newest Evidence was:
Paintbrush: Found near the Victims body. It’s assumed to belong to Mr. Gerpain.
Paint set: Mr. Gerpain’s painting equipment. Has room for only colored paint.

Gumshoe said: The defendant must have come back for his paintbrush and paint set.

You're correct to assume that Finn Gerpain is a finger painter, so you needed to present the "paintbrush".
since Gumshoe thinks that it belongs to Finn. Maya needs to point out that Mr. Gerpain wouldn't need it, since he is a Finger painter. I'll add more later. writing this stuff takes time. :meekins:

Sorry to say this, but generally a direct Contradiction is when you look at the evidence description, and the testimony, and they are DIRECTLY opposite of each other. For example:

BAD
"I'm sure that the murder weapon must have just melted by the time the police got there."
Evidence: <A chocolate knife, similar to the one that allegedly killed the victim>

GOOD
"I'm sure that chocolate knife must have just melted by the time the police got there."
Evidence: <A flier for chocolate knives. "Won't melt, no matter how hot the day!">

To be honest, I can see where you're going, but I think the general consensus here is that it should be the painter's profile. It's good that we try these things out first.
Actually, this is one of the better trials I've seen as it's going! I get a bit sick of the pairing fanfictions all over the forum. Interesting to see Maya there; I'd be glad to see other excuses for her to be the attorney. Good luck "programming" this into PWLib when it finally gets released.
I'm gone for so long, and the colors got all psychedelic! Woohoo!
