Okay, so here I am, having just cobbled together a sprite picture I want to put in my sig to pimp out my brand new fic with. (That's not forbidden, is it?) I've already figured out how to get the pic up on the intarweb and how to link to it, even how to have it be a link to the fic in question at the same time. (That's not forbidden either, is it? Or should I just link to the discussion thread of the fic?)

Anyway, my picture is just about 300x200 pixels, which means I have a bit of leftover space on the right which I want to use for text, so that people who look at my neat picture but don't quite understand its purpose may still find enlightenment. The problem I have is getting the pic and multiple lines of text next to each other, instead of on top of each other, which sorta breaks the 200 pixel height limit. Any help on which of the funky command buttons and html tags to use for this would be appreciated.

thanks in advance

I'm fairly sure the rules of CR's html make that impossible (since the object occupies one "line" and merely stretches its height to 200 pixels). I suggest merely typing the text in MSPaint (adjusting font and color as necessary and then adding it to the right side of the picture [e.g. saving text and original sig as one pictorial image]). You still have 300 horizontal pixels to work with, after all.

And, if you look around, you'll see that many people advertise their fanworks in sigs. There are no rules against that behavior.

I knew it... :sadshoe:

The reason I wanted more lines of text is so I can have more links embedded in them. If I just add more picture space, I'll still only have one URL to point to.

Also, I just noticed that there are at least two different forum background colors, so I can't even have that part of the picture that's supposed to be just text blend in... Or will white background be invisible in a sig?

If you use a more advanced graphics program, and use GIF or PNG format, then you can set a transparent area.
If you can't do it yourself(lack of software or knowledge), just make the transparent area a colour that isn't in the rest of the image(magenta seems to often be used for this purpose), upload it and PM me a link to it, and I'll fix it up for you. (be sure to use BMP or PNG format for the one you upload, GIF and JPG are pathetic quality for anything decent)
