I've been inspired by you lot to make my own. =3

Thankfully i've had experience in this field already (back in ye ol' Sonic Hoaxing days ^^"), so it wasn't too hard to do.

UPDATE 20th May
Spoiler: Gyakuten Saiban 4
I made a mockup of Phoenix Wright on the defense stand in GS4.
Image
I used the GS4 court from Court Records, the face of Hobohodou, and the body/hair of this Phoenix Wright official art which I shrunk down to GS4 size.

~~~~~~~~~~
Those of you who have seen my 3D Chinami (and my 3D version of Officer V.C's character, Jian) will know that I am an avid Poser user. http://www.e-frontier.com
I have now updated to Poser 7, and i'm now a fan of a new anime figure called Nanana, who seems perfect for Phoenix Wright style characters. With this in mind, I have created a mockup sprite/scene of what I would like to do once I make my own Phoenix Wright fangame.
Spoiler: Tis quite big
Image
I call her Chibi-Nana (after the two models used to create her, ChibiBel's body and Nanana's head). In this scene, she is in Maya's usual position. Her sister has been accused of murder and she is now following Mr.Lawer around to help him solve the case.
I call this pose the "I'm telling you, she killed nobody!" pose.
Animated like a usual sprite rip. GS4 background used. Compiled in PS Imageready CS (goddammit why didn't I use this program sooner, it's so cool!). Toon shaders by my good friend Caio Amaro.
NOTE: The animation seems to play faster than it should in Firefox. If it bothers you too much, just download it onto your PC and view it in your own image viewer.
GS1-3 Sprite (Left NEW, Right OLD)
GS4 Sprite
Name: Claire Weatherfield
Age: 23
Occupation: Defense Attorney
Personality: A somewhat cold and collective person who tells it as it is. She's not afraid to point out mistakes in others performance, but this can lead to her becoming somewhat anxious when she herself makes a mistake which changes the balance for the worse. She does have her happy days though, but this usually means being her usual self with the exception of there being a smile on her face. She has been a Defense Attorney for two years, and uses intimidation tactics to throw witnesses off their guard.
Family: Mother and Father, only child, close to her cousin.
Source: April May (Body), Ayame (Face), Penny Nichols (Bangs and skin pallette), Pearl (Waistband to Boobtube), Mia Fey (Attorney's badge).
Source(GS4): Ema Skye (Face, Skin/Hair pallette), that GS4 Mentor guy (Suit pallette), Minuki (Eyes), April May (Body), Penny Nichols (Bangs), I think Hair was done by scratch, Hands were done by scratch.
~~~~~~~~~~
Image
Name: Young Claire Weatherfield
Age: 18
Occupation: Officer
Personality: Pretty much the same as she is today, except more jumpy. She can get excited easily, but when calm she is know to be rather creepy, as if her eyes were staring straight through you. She is alot less confident with herself, especially being stuck in a job she doesn't want to do so she can "pay back her parents for their support".
Source: Maggey (Body), Ayame (Face), Penny Nichols (Bangs and skin pallette).

Any comments and critisism welcome.

Quite Simply a Great Character, Her last name is brilliant makes Redfield seem almost comedic.
As for comments my advice is try and match her suit shadings more to the colour pallete of GS4, make also those light blue pixels around her outlines near the arms/chest area need darkening.
This is my favourite Sprite so far.

Wow, thank ye.

Those light blue pixels came about by pure misconception. I had changed the skin shading beforehand (magic wand, draw box), and had accidently coloured part of the suit with skin colours. When it came to finally colourising the suit, mistakes were made. xD

Who should I get the pallete off, Phoenix?

Ok, bump for great tribulations.

I've updated the current spritesheet with most noticably the number one suggestion; to get rid of the annoying light blue stray pixels.

I also took it upon myself to edit her hair so it looked less stiff, and the shading correctly matched everything else. I don't plan to change the clothes pallette because i'm quite liking this shade of blue so far.

I left the original version above it so you can compare.

I shall worry about her lawer badge later. ^^"

I'm having problems with this Claire character for numerous reasons:

1. Awkward palletes. e.g Ayame's hair is a single flat black colour, hence her skin outlines, tones and eyes are all grey. April May on the other hand shares skintone colours with the colours on her suit.
2. I have no idea what kind of poses to give her. >.>

For now i'll leave her and try and work on another character.

EDIT: I'm considering doing her again from scratch. Does anyone have any tips about editing Phoenix Wright sprites, such as the basic colour for skin tones (I get confused as to whether an outline belongs to the skin or to the clothing, especially when the two share similar colour schemes like April May)? Perhaps some suggestions about other characters I could do?

Whoa! Impressive job here with the sprite editing! Edgy

Well, since you're clearly not using MSPaint from your editing descriptions, I'm not so sure how to exactly help since my tool of the trade is indeed MSPaint. Yuusaku Basically, when it comes to my technique, it's all a matter of Zoom-In, Copy and Paste, frankenspriting, super amounts of editing, pixel retouching, and A Certain Recolor Technique only eligible as far as I'm concerned for Windows 98 and up. (The technique consists of using right-clicking on colors and dragging them over colors. I'll probably do a tutorial on this sometime; Phoenix Wright style since PW Edits are more complicated than, say...Sonic edits.)

My Method: Basically, when it comes to the pixel palletes, it's where I and most others usually get pissed off. I'm aware of the fact that pixels exist here and there where they shouldn't color-wise to the sprite (to clarify, an example: editing the gray pallete on a sprite to say...pink, can result in other gray parts of the sprite to also turn pink, and making it stand out more than the wanted area). For this problem: we have two things: The Base, and the Duplicate. The duplicate the exact part I want to edit, so I select that part (in MSPaint usually using the Cut Tools or whatever the star and that rectangle are called), and I duplicate it (usually C&P). Without deleting the Base (which is what your sprite is), I make the edits to the Duplicate (which is the part you want to edit without destroying the rest of the sprite) using A Certain Technique, and then once I'm done editing, I place the Duplicate over the same area on the Base. If that fails, there's always the slow and annoying zoom in and recolor the simple way.

Like I said, however, I'm not so sure if this is your technique or if this can work with your program, so this may be unfamiliar to you. Oops

She looks great! I especially like the rich color of her suit.

Are you gonna enter the OC contest?

I have updated. I recreated Claire from scratch using the same sprites as before, but different methods.

Suit - Used V.Cs suggestion of seperating the skin and suit to different layers. Worked like a charm! =D Also inverted the shape of the seam to be more anatomically correct.

Hair - I removed ALL of the original hair, rather than basing it off the original shape. I then drew the shape myself close to the shape on the original Claire, but matching the shading of the bangs.

I also added earrings, her attorney's badge (from Mia) and a boob tube from Pearl's waistband.

Update bump-age! =3

I've created a sprite of Young Claire. I know her Jaw looks a little wonky, but that's because I had to redraw it (the original had a hand covering her chin). In this sprite she's meant to be in her 'excitedly worried' phase. I can't help but think that the head is out of proportion to the body. O.o

Anyways, any comments and crits on the new sprite are welcome.

Thank you for your comments. I'm making characters like her for when Phoenix Write is made (it sports a screensize not much smaller than the animation up there).

Wow, uber bump.

I finally finished that GS4 Claire i've had sitting on my hard-drive for a while. I tried to make her suit the GS4 universe, I even used Ema and the GS4 Mentor guy for height comparison.

Check the first post.
