So, I'm terrible with art and graphics programs. Having seen the excellent tutorials on here, I decided to get better, one sprite at a time, and I'm wondering if anyone could help me with some constructive criticism on my first few attempts. (If it makes a difference, I can't afford Photoshop, so I'm using GIMP.)



EDIT: So, I decided to try another batch, taking into account the suggestion to avoid "Hey! I can use lots of colors!" like I was thinking with Franny. I think these turned out, on the whole, better than the first recolors. Hopefully soon I'll be comfortable enough with the program to move on to part swapping.



This one here, I thought the blue and teal would work nicely together. I should have used a slightly darker dark blue, perhaps, but other than that, I'm pleased with it.





OK, I just got through saying I was going for less clashy colors, but these were prompted by the comments "Hey, Edgeworth looks a lot like Draco Malfoy" and "OK, now that you've done that, make Lotta into Rita Skeeter." I'm using that as my excuse.



Manny always looked like he could be a vampire if he did it right, so I decided to give him a blood red outfit. I was afraid the peach wouldn't go well, but I kind of like it.



This one, I decided to correct the Magic Goblet of Gravy, and in doing so, realized it'd look better with a different color for the jacket.

Yeah, technically you've done a really really good job! I actually like GIMP as a program, I find it more intuitive than potatoshop sometimes.

Just next time choose colours that are a little less clashy! Yellow and blue and red! Oh my!

This may be blatant begging for comments, but I'm not above that. Hopefully I've done better with this group than I did with the last one in terms of getting palettes right.

Matt looked cool but I think a black suit would've worked better with M. Von Karma. I also didn't really like the Worthy and Lotta ones but the rest were great .
