Umm... Hi! So, as it turns out, I'm... experimenting with editing sprites. I'm not that good yet, so... this is mainly a place to show them and get critiques and advice on how to improve.

My first Phoenix Wright sprite edit was a recoloring and a restyling of Pearl's hair to make a sprite of a younger Maya for a roleplay. ^_^;; Here it is...



She's about age four in these. Umm... there aren't really many expressions yet because when I started these I was reeeally bad at this, and too intimidated by seeing the ones I'd done as compared to some of the others to continue. The reason there aren't many talking sprites of her is because she doesn't really talk much yet in the RP - in fact, I've been playing her for more than a month now and she hasn't spoken a word, so those last two have gone unused. Once it gets to the point where she talks I guess I'll have to edit more, and she'll have more expressions then too.

My next edit isn't just a recolor/restyle. I basically just used Adrian as a base to create sprites for an OC for the same roleplay named Noelle Deidre. ...More on her after the sprites come up.



As you can see, I edited out her glasses and changed the hair and outfit completely. It was drawn with a mouse, using her body outline for reference on where the clothing outline should go. I'm actually really proud of her hair, it's much better than a few of my first attempts. :3

About Noelle, then... She's a defense attorney. She actually passed the bar a few years prior to her appearance in the roleplay, but she never took on very many high-profile cases, and since people didn't know who she was, she never actually got very much business. In a way, she's pretty inexperienced still - she has a long way to go before becoming super-great. She's very timid and jumpy out-of-court, but walking through the doors to the courthouse kind of transforms her; she has a LOT more confidence in the courtroom than she does in the rest of her life, and when she wins a case the confidence follows her around for a few days.

Those two sprites were actually finished last night, so I don't have any more expressions for her. I plan to work on some over the weekend, though, so they'll go up once I get them done.

If anyone happens to have a request for some odd reason, I'd be glad to attempt it... but you've got to keep in mind that I'm still learning, so it could take awhile and it could really, really suck regardless of how much time I take on it. ^_^

Any critiques/advice/whatever would be really great, if you'd like to offer them. ^_^

<3 Nice work. :3 I'm assuming you did her hair in photoshop judging by the effects on the hair. Much different from PW hair, but the over all sprite looks pretty good.

:3 Thank you! ^_^ Yes, the whole thing was done in Photoshop, but I used the pencil tool for most of it - but the effects on the hair and some of the shading, I cheated on. Basically I was like "Oh, screw this DX" and... yeah. I have no patience. ^_^;;

And yep! Noelle's me. Like Aoi said once... or was it Ace...? Doesn't matter, it was said... I play EVERYONE. 8D
