Sup' everyone? I used to have an art thread a couple of years ago, but I stopped updating it due to my heavy schoolwork schedule. I go to a school which is solely for comic books, cartooning and illustration, so every assignment has to do with penciling and inking constantly. So it's hard to make time to draw art for myself :sadshoe:.

However, I thought I'd post a couple of PW fan pieces I've done recently, one which was actually for a school assignment :D

Spoiler: First, a simple piece of Maya done on Tegaki
Image

Ahh Maya... She's one of my favorite characters to draw :3. I love her hair, her outfit and her upbeat personality~

Spoiler: A "movie" style poster done with vectors. Done for a school assignment.
Image

Just finished this today. In class, we were given an assignment to create a movie poster all done in vectors on Adobe Illustrator. It could be based on anything we wanted, so of course you know what I went with :3. I'm pleased how this came out since it took me a VERY long time to do and this was my first time using vectors.

This is all I have for now, but hopefully I'll have more art in the future if I'm not too busy with school. :keiko:

3/03/09
Just some more practice with vectoring. :3 :kyouya-pull:

Spoiler: Lil' Klavier
Image

3/14/09

So I don't exactly have any "new" art, but I'd thought Id post some paintchat doodles I've done about a year or so ago.
Spoiler: Older!Pearl and Older!Cody
Image

This one was based on an idea by MoronSonOfBoron. What if Pearl and Cody went to the same high school together? Cody would be a sarcastic punk who enjoys teasing Pearl and making fun of her hairstyle. Pearl is a hopeless daydreaming romantic who wishes to find love like in one of the many romance novels she reads. She can't stand Cody. :keiko:

Spoiler: Edgeworth...just wearing a thong You've been warned.
Image

This was just practice with drawing the male figure. With Edgey as my subject :redd:
Done around late 07'/early 08'.
Spoiler: And a sexy Franziska as well
Image

Because...garter belts are awesome.
Done around the same time as the Edgeworth one.
Spoiler: Some sensual DiegoMia
Image

Ughh, there are some anatomical mistakes with this one, but I love me some DiegoMia :3

02/23/10

Spoiler: Ace Attorney Group Shot
Image

An assignment done for one of my classes where we had to do 50 characters in one picture.
At first, I intended to do a whole picture of all my original characters I've thought up of over the years going down a massive staircase, and drew in the background first. But I decided to make it an Ace Attorney group shot instead. Sooo... let's say that they're all in the Gatewater Hotel? And Phoenix, Edgeworth and the Judge happened to be there having a mock trial? Yeah, let's leave it at that. It's every character from AA1-3, except victims or other characters you've never talked to.
The perspective's off in a lot of places, but that's what I get for doing a rush job :/
I may color this if I have the time~

7/2/10

Spoiler: Group shot is colored
Image

I TOTLI DID NOT FORGET TO PUT ACRO IN THE ORIGINAL PICTURE.
HE WAS ALWAYS THERE. HE JUST WAS HIDING MMKAY.

Also, photobucket destroyed the quality. A sad panda is Lyss.
You can find a higher res at here.

Your Maya looks really nice and welldone! I especially like the face and the hair, and the coloring of course. Great work! :)

Your poster is sweet too, especially since it's your first time using vectors. The edges look good and the design is great. My only critique would be that Godot's and Mia's face look kinda off ... Can't really put my finger on it though, but perhaps you know what I mean. That could use some improvement.

Keep on going! :gant:

Yeah I was having a lot of trouble with Mia's face. Mostly because of the angle she's in and trying to find the right light source I wanted. And awww...Godot's face was my favorite part to do xD. But thanks for the critique, I'll keep it in mind.

Whoo! More shiny stuff!

But yeah, that Maya looks epic, with the cherry blossoms in the background and everything. It just looks... Cute.

As for the poster, it is FRIGGIN' AWESOME! You get a cookie for that one!

Very cool stuff so far. I've never tried vectoring before. Is it very difficult to use?

It can be tough to get used to in the beginning, at least for me it was xD;
But I'm starting to get the hang of it. I just have trouble when it comes to using the pathfinder tool and shortcuts.
But vectoring can be fun :3

LySs, I'm so glad you decided to start posting your art up again. You're really talented. (I always used to look at your thread)

Good to see someone else who uses Illustrator around here, too. I've only seen, what, one other person around here?
You vector very well, and I know it takes a lot of patience. Trust me, I know. *looks at smashed mouse*
I really love the movie poster (and the others, of course), especially the way you've put Mia in the steam. Very clever.

I love the movie poster, aww Maya :'^( and Dahlia scared me. I had to scroll across to see her face and she slowly creeped me out.

And Lil' Klavier is so cute :edgy:

(what does vectoring mean?)

EDIT: nvm, I googled it haha

That little Klavier done is illustrator is absolutely adorable! *_*

From both him and your movie-esque poster project I can see you use the program very well; as a fellow adobe il user and illustration major in college I know how tricky it can be. Beautiful job!

Haven't updated in awhile because I've been busy with other school projects. I'm finishing up my final term :3

Buuuut, for one of my assignments, I had to draw 50+ characters in one picture. Sooo, I decided to go with doing a whole Ace Attorney character group shot :D

Spoiler: Big picture is big

Funny you've mentioned that, because I actually have been planning out some of the new chapters.
I guess I also just wanted to finish playing AAI so I could throw in some other ideas. I just started the 5th case though, so... yeah.

Actually, I'm debating whether or not to edit the first few chapters and change the amusement park I made up called "Global Kingdom" to "Gatewater Land". Or since Gatewater Land was more Blue Badger themed, and Global Kingdom is supposed to be more Steel Samurai themed, maybe not?

Ah- vectors ^^ You do them all by hand? Or do a live trace? Live trace is hit and miss at best :/ I tried it once on one of my posters and it was so bad XD I ended up doing it all by hand. Took soo long, but it was worth it ^^

Sorta first... I knew how to make a line... and resize... I didn't know how to join lines and I was REALLY slow at making the curves and making them accurate cause I didn't know how to modify the angle lines right. I learn compound vectors, and I learnt the horror of live trace... oh. And the glory of live paint bucket. Oh... how I LOVED Live paint bucket. I didn't know how I was gonna fill in those spots without it ^^ It was a life saver ^^

Thank you though- I was really glad I did it, because I wasn't knowledgeable to do things in illustrator to the level I needed to be to do comic pages. I use to join bubbles in Photoshop cause I didn't know how to do it in illustrator. I was pretty good at hiding it in the end, but that still doesn't make up for it. You could tell I wasn't good at it.

I'm glad you were taught right :) I found it very hard to find internet tutorials on it. Illustrator isn't an easy program to step into :(

But seriously, these are great, especially that shot, also, I really like the movie poster-style one.
