I assume this was the ref for Miles, right? His expression is hard to knock down, but the biggest issue is the hooked nose. See how your nose goes straight down then towards the right? It gives it the impression of twisting to the side. IF you bend it the other way, it'll give the nose a triangular shape.
A tip with lines- start off lightly, and when you do the final line, do all your straight lines with a ruler, and draw all your curves with you palm on the inside of the curve. That way, your arc wont bump as much cause it'll be a more natural movement. Try not to do the short hatchy line though. if you're unconfident, just sketch it first so you know where to go :)

i thought the nose looked weird. i spent about a week after i drew the picture just glaring at it because it didnt look right !!!!!!

Im doing copies of all of them at the moment, trying to make them more faded,but with better shadow. They are also meant to be almost exact copies,so the problems you mentioned will possibly still remain. Im trying to find a good style wiv charcaol-got nothing better to do.
BTW ive started wiv iris and her nose is even worse than the last time....might bin it.
