I'm sorry, I've just seen your reply.
Such as... Umm, you're using PS, right? I'm a CPP user, so I don't know what those effects called there but I'll try to help anyway.
Try to use effects like lens flare, image sprayers, blending, blur, adding sparkles, add/multiply/saturate etc.
You can search some walkthroughs/tutorials with google. They'll help you improve.
And as PS user, you can use PS brushes! They'll make a lot diference if you know how to use them, trust me.
