Hey I'm just wondering if anyone is making and selling the Hobo-Phoenix Button Smiley thingamajigs :hobohodo:

I recall a time when someone was making and selling them, however that is long over due so I doubt it is sold via this person anymore, and/or whether or not they've been on the forums in a while due to their last visit dating back to practically 3 months ago.

So yeah is there anyone making and selling these? Because I'm interested :)

Did a quick check on DeviantArt, and typing, "ema skye buttons" came up with this individual:

They replied to a comment just 5-6 days ago, so I believe they are still actively selling them.
If that fails, you can also make a post in the GS LJ community,
as I vaguely remember some people who may have shown examples of their buttons there.

=) I made a handful of Hobohodo pins for Anime Central, and was complemented on how well-made they were. I'm planning on selling them soon on eBay, so I'll be glad to get back to you when I do.

I'm also trying to get a button for a costume.

I made my own image of the button, and plan on using one of those button websites to make it for me :) I think there was a website called zazzle that looked good....

Anywayz, this is the design I made:

It's not perfect, but it's good enough ^^'

I remember seeing people making them all over the web, so you just gotta look! ;p But if you cant, then they are very easy to make yourself! Michaels, A.C. Moore, and other craft stores sell buttons that you can pop open and put your own pictures in. I used one that I got at Michaels for my Hobo-Phoenix button and it worked amazing! The only trouble I had was printing out the button pattern-picture-face-thing to the right size XDD

I made one myself, but it's not that great. My The World Ends With You pins are far better (and popular!).

My Hobo Phoenix button is asymmetrical to match the official artwork, and it's a little pale to match the artwork too. It's three inches wide.

It can be bought here if anyone wants one.

Hmm... I'm thinking it might just be safer to buy a button than make a custom one. Does anyone know how much the individual red Emma button cost from that deviantart person?

Also, this isn't about the button, but it is about hobo phoenix, and I'd rather post it up in here to see if it can be answered quickly before I make a whole new thread... I got a light blue acrylic ski cap for the hat, but I don't know the best way to get "Papa" on it... does anyone know? ^^'

ahhh, but making one is so much fun! =P

You can buy some light-neony pink at a store that sells fabric. I got mine at Wal*Mart [check the recycle/extra fabric bin first! I found a few yards of this AMAZINGLY accurate pink in there for mine, and it was only 99 cents!] Make the letters on a piece of paper, cut them out, and trace them on said pink fabric. Then cut them outta the pink and then you can sew, hot glue, or fabric glue it onto your hat! And then WA-LA! Say hello to your own Hobo-Phoenix hat! :hobolaugh:

EDIT: here are some pictures of the hat and button ;p
Spoiler: Hobo Hat!

Spoiler: Buttons

If you do end up making your own button, this thread should help! Just copy, past into a program, adjust size, and print! =D
[If you want to see more pictures of the hat or button, just ask! ^^;]

Well, for my cosplay, I embroidered it. Though I know that most people don't have ready access to an Embroidery machine (I'm fortunate enough to work in an embroidery shop: I have free use of the machinery after work's done XD I once put a giant Phoenix head on a shirt. It was amazingly epic), there may be a shop in your area that will embroider anything on anything for a relatively small price. Check your phone book. =) It will most likely be more expensive than simply using fabric, but it's incredibly durable, completely washable, and lasts for freaking EVER! I wear my hobo hat alllll the time :hobohodo:

EDIT: :payne: Uh, could someone be so kind as to explain to me how to put pictures on a post? I'm quite new to these forums.

There's a tag at the top that says "Img"

Click it, and {tag}{/tag} will appear. Put the image URL between the two.

For example,

{tag}http://www.iceruby.com/crap/AwesomeKirby.gif{/tag}

Will look like
