hmmmm, I guess its your opion really. [I've only gone to local conventions so far] I think that Anime Expo is really good [probably because its the biggest] and this year a lot of PW cosplayers went from what I've seen. Yaoi-con seems to aslo [judging from the forums here] Anime Boston always has a TON of cosplayers [PW or not], and it seemed like this year there were some good PW ones!

Sorry, I didnt really help. ^^; You and your buddies are gonna go con hopping across the country? That sounds like a ton of fun! =D

haha, that would wreck my trip to japan too XD

I just went to PortCon Maine [a small con in Maine...as the title says XD] and there were PW cosplayers there who posted here that they were going and some who didnt. Anime Boston had some last year, but I wasnt really into PW so I didnt take notice ^^;; [those are muh local cons ;p] It seems AX might be a big forum fav, especially cause the huge turnabout this year.

The only really "big" con I've been to is Otakon. But, I had a blast the two times I went. ^_^ It's coming up again in August, so I'd definitely look into how it goes this year. Check out the pictures from it and all that good stuff. ^_^ I usually go to Animazement every year, but it's a smaller convention here in North Carolina. (Although it finally outgrew the hotel it's been in for the past several years. ^_^;;) I love it, though! :edgy:

I've never been to AX, but I'm dying to get there one year. ^_^;;

And don't let the language barrier block you from going to Japan!! I went to the Tokyo Anime Fair this year and had a blast. ^_^

Anime conventions are more considered an American thing than a Japanese thing. So a Japanese con is not the best idea. But if you do go take me with you. I speak a good amount of Japanese.

I had a blast at Anime Expo in California. Otakon probably trumps AX though.

I've only been to Anime Vegas. The cosplay turnout is pretty decent from what I can tell.

I went to Fanime's GS cosplay gathering, and it was HUGE.

I read in the AX thread here that their gathering wasn't as big or epic, which is rather ironic when you consider that AX has 4 1/2 times as much turnout as Fanime. I can't say for sure myself, because I've yet to go to AX.

lol, didn't think it would be hard to choose a convention to go to. Well another question, What is most of the people on the fourms biggest turnout at a convention. (mostly so as i don't feel like a stranger and also so as we're at the biggest (Or i would assume seeing how we're all Ace attorney fans) Ace attorney cosplay turnout.

It was freaking awesome. ^_^ I actually understand quite a bit of Japanese, plus I know at least katakana and hiiragana, so it wasn't like I was going in blind. I just can't speak as well as I understand. ^_^;; (Which seems to be the case with me and all the foreign languages that I know. O_o) It kind of sucks not being able to read everything, but it's a more "visual" thing anyway. Lots of pretty pictures. ^_^ And free stuff! I came home with a giant bag full of flyers, and other free items. O_o And there were actually a couple of booths there that had Americans at them. (Anime Expo and Otakon.) So, I chatted with them for a while. ^_^

that is awsome! I wanna learn enough Japanese to get around and understand at least basics of conversation. Free stuff rocks! I think that seeing everything can be just as good as actually understanding it. You get your own interpretation of it ;p
Well that must have been fun!

The two biggest conventions in North America are Anime Expo in California and Otakon in Maryland (although AX has nearly double Otakon's attendance). Both will have large turnouts for Phoenix Wright... along with every other series ever made. I dunno about the most popular convention for Court Records goers since only a few conventions are spoken for on this site as it's not big on discussing cons, but Canadian con Anime North in particular was graced with the presence of Croik and Silverwind along with many others. If you had to pick a convention, I would suggest one of these three (in descending order of general size): Anime Expo, Otakon, or Anime North. Enjoy yourself next year. :)

It also depends on how much money you are willing to spend to go that far to a con. If you can't afford it, go near a con near where you live. I wouldn't recommend going to Japan since cons are completely different than ones I'm America. For one, you can't walk into the convention center in your costume. You have to change in a bathroom and bring your outfit with you.

Wow. I'm a little surprised that Fanime was briefly mentioned. The gathering this year was amazing. Fanime as a convention is not the biggest but had one of the largest PW/AJ gatherings, if not the largest gathering I have seen. Originally we were inside the convention hall on the bottom floor but half way through the gathering we were asked to move outside because we were too large (Hence the two locations in the pictures below). After we took pictures we took about an hour break and then regrouped (at the silver x) to get pizza. Even though that fell apart it was still fun marching down the streets of San Jose with +30 cosplayers.

Not only did the size of the gathering make things fun but the people. Honestly that's what can make or break a gathering. Everyone I talked to was so nice and fun to be around. It has such a family atmosphere even though I had just meet many of the cosplayers. Also at the end of the gathering we all exchanged information so we could stay in contact and meet up again. For the rest of the con you could always find someone in the crowd from the gathering and exchange smiles and waves. I look forward to next year to hopefully see all of them again.
