Recently, I have decided to start raising money to go to New York Comicon 2010. If I raise enough money to go, I have decided that I shall be the star of the series, the justice bringer, the finger pointer, Phoenix Wright.

Now, I know it may be REEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY early to be asking this, but I prefer to know in advance... for some reason.

Anyway, I was hoping if anybody could tell me how to make my hair all spikey like Nick's. If you know how, please tell me. If you don't, thanks for reading this anyway. Heres hoping I get enough money!

I'm not quite sure how to make the spikes, but here's a tip. if you're using a wig, do not use gel. use hairspray, and blowdry it hard.

If you're using your own hair, get a hold of some Got2B hairspray and spiking glue. Something cheaper like Aquanet hairspray will work well too, but for gravity defying hair, I always fall back on the Got2B brand.

Depending on how long your hair is, you will probably want to have a friend help you out. It'll look and feel kind of ridiculous, but one way to go about it is to lie over the edge of a bed/couch/what have you and have your friend spray your hair. Try to hold your head at an angle that'll get your hairstyle slightly higher than Phoenix's at first, because the spikes will inevitably fall a little throughout the day. Make sure to spray the roots, and something that will help a LOT is having your friend also equipped with a hairdryer so they can apply some heat as they work on the style.

This is all assuming you're using your own hair, of course. If not, well, wigs are a different story.

Putting Phoenix's outfit together isn't very difficult, and I agree that the hair is the trickiest to get... I've gotten close, but never had my hair perfect- for one, it probably needs to be a bit shorter (right now it comes down to my jawline almost perfectly). For Anime Boston 2009, I had everything in my apartment to help me get it together, so I put on a copious amount of Dep sporting gel (it was the best I could find at the moment) of the highest strength, styled it slowly and carefully, and leaned on the edge of my bed in front of a fan to help it set.

During PortconMaine however, I didn't have the opportunity to use a bed or a fan, so I held it gently in place until it seemed like it would stay... it didn't work as well, and I'm guessing due to the length/weight of my hair I had to set it a few times (sometimes even a few hours later) to keep it right.

That all said, it didn't turn out perfect. I think it would have went MUCH better if I had my hair slightly shorter and had a better gel (but I'm afraid to use or find others since I've had my hair treated, and I'd need to know whether or not it has any side-effects first). The shape is about as right as it can get without the big spikes, and it definitely didn't go as high as I wanted it to- I think it was just too heavy for that. I think Phoenix's hair should have a flat top, at least when viewed from the side, where instead mine curved down a bit unless I tilted my head downwards.

Anyway, here's a profile of a side view; I hope it serves as useful! This one was during Portcon, and I didn't even have a comb on me, so I ended up just combing my hands through my hair for probably about 30 minutes to get it up there.

Mostly AA related sketches- I've only had my tablet and photoshop for about 2 weeks now, so I still feel like I'm not very good... but I try to be funny when I can :D

Wow, I finally make an epic return to Court Records with a new name, and I finally have some suggestions! What a nice suprise. Anyway, on to the topic of the thread, DarkenedWing's seems the most helpful. Thanks! ...Oh, and the topic of comicon, I probably won't be able to go until 2011, but still I'm going one way or another EVEN IF I HAVE TO KILL A MAN AND EAT HIS HEAD.
