Let's pretend I want to go to Megacon as Edgeworth. My hair, though very versatile for styling (in theory, I could mimic virtually anyone except Pearl without a wig), is horrible for coloring, being a fairly dark brown. How do I get Mi-tan's funky silver cast to my hair?
Before someone asks, I'm not bleaching it, and I can't justify buying a wig.
I don't want "pure silver" like I would do for Godot.

Silver glitter spray? The kind designed for skin and hair?

I'd say hair dresser might have some tricks.
I have no idea if this will work but heard old school hair gel was chalk. Maybe using that mixed with water (think that was how it was used) might be able to hint it a Grey colour will added glitter silver stuffs.

Well and you can get coloured hair gels and wash-out coloured sprays here in the UK but I dunno if they're on sale in the US. Maybe a local shop that sells punk/nu metal/nu goth stuff or a Hot Topic store might have something similar? My psychobilly mates at University used to use it on bleached hair so they could have green/blue/black/red/gold/silver hair depending on the day of the week :)

Wigs really aren't all that expensive anymore; you can find a good one for 30ish or less, which will be nice and lasting during the cosplay, but can be removed immediately afterwards, something temporary sprays and long term dyes can't do.

Wig. :P They end up looking much more "anime" than real hair ever really could. Usually. Unless you're really talented with hair.

Well or unless you accidentally have the same hairstyle as a character already :)

In the front, if I gel it, I have Edgeworth hair. :edgy: In the back, pins. I'm not trying to win an award, I'm just trying to make my hair color not glaringly awful for Edgey, pretending that's who I go as.

You could just go as brown-haired Edgeworth as seen on the cover of JFA. His hair color confuses me since he seems rather young to have gray hair already (although that's not unheard of).

Yeah it confuses me too - I just went with grey in fics as that seemed to be the majority of opinion.

White/Silver spray-on hair dye. You can get it at grocery stores during October because of Halloween (at least I've seen it in my Krogers).

When I was younger I used it and probably went through half a can to get it white-white. So a little bit would give that greying-tint that Edgey seems to have. Plus it works as hairspray, so it would help with the styling.

I agree with this. Wigs work wonders, but if you absolutely don't want one, I think you should go with the hair spray.

Unless you're going as super fab!Edgey though, make sure you get actual silver and not just the glitter spray. I'd go with silver over white, too, if you have a choice in the matter.

I've actually been thinking the gray is highlights for black or a weird ash brown, so I might just try to get out every bit of red left in my hair and do brown or black, then a very light silver/white over to get the highlighting effect (I'm not coming back to America until Christmas, so no spray for me unless I look around at the party store). I've seen a lot of "silver wig" Edgeys and think that they just don't look right.
