Okay, guys, so Anime Expo '08 is in about a month and a half, and I STILL don't have my Lamiroir cosplay done. D:

I mean, I know I need a wig, that much is easy to handle.

However, I need to know some fabrics that will look good with puff paint, as that is how I'm doing the constellations on her giant blue cloak-robe thing. At least, it'll be puff paint for now. I'll try to embroider them later, when I truly know how to sew. Also, her veil. Any suggestions on how to make that?

I'm making a Lamiroir/Thalassa interchangable cosplay, by the sound of it. xD I think I might have her Gramarye Troupe cosplay ready by a different convention, so for now it's just regular ol' Lamiroir/Thalassa.

Any suggestions, guys?

In the meantime, I'm working my vocals on Koisuru GUITAR no SERENADE. xDDD

Maybe there is a middle eastern themed shop in your area? I think you could find fabrics that will resemble Lamiroir's there.

let me tell you, if you try to colour a dark fabric it's gonna be tough. (or at least that's what happened to my friend : P) if possible try the paint on the fabric, check if it'd be too runny or not XD

Try peach-skin. You may have to dye it but that would'nt be a bad idea considering it's such an exact shade. But peach-skin is durable, nice looking and flowing (but not too much) plus it's not sheer like a lot of those flowly type fabrics.

I hope that helps some. I can't wait to see it! :)

Lol, thanks guys! I got a lot of helpful hints, and ToonGirl (who's worked in fabrics before, I just didn't want to bother her because of stress) has volunteered to help me out.

As for a middle-eastern-themed shop, I don't know of one that would sell fabrics or garments that look like hers.

As for peach skin fabric, I've never seen it, but hell, if the JoAnn's down here has it, we'll be sure to get, like, umpteen MILLION yards of it. xDD

Oh, there will be pictures. Many of them. I might even do a video (provided I'm not nervous and I find a Klavier to do it with me and a Machi) of Guitar Serenade and post it on YouTube. XDDD

EDIT: Also, for painting, I think yellow paint might fade a bit on dark blue. Plus, my hand isn't all that steady. :larry: Hence, puff paint might work a bit better for me. xD But thank you for the tip, I might try it on some extra fabric~

Lawl, I'd do it but I can't play guitar. Or drive. So, Fraulein, guess you're outta luck. Such is life, ja?

But seriously, if you did a video, I'd watch it. Because ich bin ein dork.

I usually pronounce it "Lamb-eh-raw". Some people choose to leave out the "eh" part, at least, that's another pronounciation I've heard of her name.

It's French for mirror... so wouldn't it be pronounced the same?

Yeah. It's a really pretty fabric! I did find out you can't dye it though but you may find it in a nice deep blue. I saw some that would of worked when I went to Wal-Mart tonight, so you may see something like that at JoAnns. I hope you have some luck ^^

If you want to pronounce it the French way...

Since Lamiroir's name comes from the French word 'La Mirior', the mirror, I pronounce it the French way.

Lah-me-rohwoire (Do this in a French accent ;D)

The R rolls a little bit in the back of your throat.
