Yeah, I want to go to a convention. But I haven't heard of any in SoCal (yet). Recommendations please? ^_^

On a semi-related note, who could I cosplay as? o_o

Your kidding me right? You haven't heard of ANY Cons in So. Cal? How long have you lived here?

San Diego Comic Con, has always been at San Diego. It was there last year, and the year before. So it'll be there next year if you can't go this year.

Also, earlier in the month is Anime Expo in Los Angeles. July 3 - 6 is when its going down. We even have a Phoenix Wright Gathering planned and everything for that Con.

Also, There are plenty of other cons to go to. Anime Los Angeles (ALA) For one is another good con that happens to kick off the new year con season in So Cal since its like the weekend after the new year begins.

Also, there are plenty of Local So Cal Gatherings being planned that you can attend as well. For all info on Conventions and Gatherings, I would have to say go to Cosplay.com and check out their forums for more info on Dates and so on.

BTW: Cosplay Suggestions: Max Galactica.. its in your sig, might as well right? My advice is always try to cosplay your favorite character.

That's right, I'm producing something. Expect something to come out of my new production studio.

I was a little surprised to see the topic title, and I've never been to California. ^_^; I was thinking, "But there are major conventions over that way and a very diverse community!" I'm always hoping to go to Anime Expo someday.

I've lived in Socal my whole life (I'm 13) I only recently got into Phoenix Wright and anime stuff. (I got PW1 for Christmas '07) I'd heard of San Diego Comic-con before but didn't remember until today.

BTW: Max isn't my favorite character XD I just thought that was funny when I thought of it.
Gumshoe's my real favorite, pal.

You may also want to take a look at animecons.com. They have this awesome map you can use to see where the conventions are in relation to you. As for who to cosplay, you'll want to choose someone you like and is easy enough to pull off. Most first-time cosplayers pick characters with similar hairstyles so they don't have to use a wig.

To be fair, I'm becoming quite a veteran con-goer now. I've been to at least two conventions a year for the past few years, often three, and in the years before that I'd at least go to MetroCon. I really hope you enjoy your time there, because to me, cons are a great way to meet new people and lose some of your inhibitions. (Not all of them, though. Nobody likes a nutjob.)

Heh, they sound so fun! I *might* be able to go to Anime Expo. If I do, I'll go as Gumshoe. :eh?:
