He did leave the country, but he hasn't been gone that long in the timeline just yet. He's returned only briefly because of the situation Ms. Grant is currently in (and probably Gumshoe's persistence.) I doubt he's even in the country longer than the trip to the airport and that visit to the hospital.

EDIT: I fixed that typo that was pointed out earlier. Don't ever be afraid to let me know about them, guys! I don't want anything that might distract from the story. It's all I got.

Update! Page 63! I believe we've finally hit the halfway mark on the story. Soon answers should start being revealed.

I do hope that by "halfway mark" you mean the case of the Dragon, because only 126 of these would be far too few :(

Also poor Chris, it'll be another couple of years before he can appreciate those tapes, and by then his sister will probably be hiding them better.

I did mean the case, yes. I plan to make these until either the readers stop caring, I stop caring, or I run out of ideas.

Just wait until you meet adult Chris in Rick Valentine. =^.^=

The timeline is a tad confusing, since Maya's present, and she doesn't show between 1-4 and 2-2, but screw the timeline, I have money tea!

Oh, kudos on your comic as well! Been reading for a while but never actually said anything, so I a word of encouragement is due. Great work!

When Maya showed it was before the 1-5 timeline. Three months passed between the the christmas fluff and the case of the dragon. Which is why I put the month under the name.

... Oh, dear. TMI, Chris. This is the kind of thing we DON'T tell people about our sisters. XD

And, ooh, cool, so the Rick Valentine comic is around the same time as GS4, huh? I'm gonna have to hold off on reading it until I get to play the game, then :P Maybe GS4 will be out by the time you've got some Rick Valentine comics ready. From the little preview, it should be another awesome comic like this one.

Yay for updates! If reader interest is what you need to keep going, you've got plenty of it here <3

I don't plan on making a comic until I get the game myself. Then I'll prolly make them depending on my chapter progression level. I don't plan on putting any spoilers in Rick Valentine so it shouldn't be a huge problem reading it before playing the game.

For those of you wondering about an update, I've taken a couple days off to recoup from being hit by whatever the heck it is I seem to have contracted. I get sick a lot (no sympathies please, I get enough of them as it is) so I'm used to worked through it. This, however, has hit me in ways I'm not used to being hit. I don't wish to become one of those people who use their art to complain about things, but you guys are so good to me I feel you deserve an explanation as opposed to just a disappearance.
Also, three cheers for spellcheck who made this post at least readable.

I'm sorry if I'm come off as rude but,

All the Sprites are Recolors or Recolors with Limbs Swapped out, with no real Editing At all.

The Plot isn't very Original, The Partner is a Spirit Medium, Blahblahblah Murder Cases Blahblahblah, and the Text is often Jumbled and Messed up, Its filled with Plotholes and Some of the Actions don't seem very structured at all, Why Does Gloria White have a Breakdown about being accused of murder After just one Question which didn't even accuse her, And nobody's Supposed to be declared Guilty or not Guilty unless Its Proven beyond Reasonable Doubt, but the Main character just seems to be able to tell the Judge "My Client is Guilty" and he Goes "Alright! I find the Defendant Guilty!"

The only thing this has Going is that it has a Plot and isn't just trying to be Funny but is actually ATTEMPTING to be good.

You should Probably refine Your "Custom" Sprites to a little more then a Blond Haired Mia or En Garde's Head on a Random Body with Pearls Necklace.

And when it comes to plot, try and make sure things make sense, Think how things work in the games, Before you can prove Anybody Guilty you need EVIDENCE.

But Grant doesn't seem to get any Trouble from anybody at all, She's Practically a Mary sue.

This is all I really have to say.
Kay had two daddies. Trucy had THREE daddies. Clearly Trucy is the winner.

EDIT: After reading this post which I somewhat made in anger, I realize that it's too long and kind of uglies up this thread. I still wanted to say it, though, so I spoiler-tagged the whole thing. This is all directed towards Jeshi:

Spoiler: My lecture to Jeshi, part 1
You know, kid, I've been defending you to my sisters from the musical thread. They think you come off as awfully snobby and know-it-all for for a 13-year-old. I thought maybe you just were misunderstood and told them to give you a chance. After all, you're only 13, so maybe you don't really know how to present your opinions without seeming like a total jackass.

After reading this, I think you know exactly what you're doing, and I'm not going to defend you anymore. You, sir, are a jerk.

This is a fanfiction, she's doing it in her spare time, and it's an enjoyable story. Just because it all doesn't look professional and live up to your expectations doesn't mean people can't enjoy it. I ask you, what useful purpose does you coming on here and tearing it down possibly serve? Not once in your whole tirade did you even bother to be constructive or polite. You basically said "This sucks. Try to make it more like the game and not suck so much."

Didn't you mom teach you how to talk to people? Here, I'll give you a lesson. Here's what you SHOULD have said in your post ... I'll even attempt to mimic your "style" of typing: (spoiler-tagged to save space)

Spoiler: Jeshi's post, rewritten
"Well, this Is A Noble attempt at a Sprite Comic, but there Are a Few Issues that keep me from really Liking this.

The Story is lacking. First off, the Plot Seems rather Cookie-cutter from the Original Games. I think You should Try to be a Little more original With your Main Characters. Also, Why is Grant able to Get the Judge to Declare her client Guilty just by Saying it? She didn't Even Show any evidence.

I also Take Issue with the sprites. I Consider them Poor Edits.

Perhaps if You improve in These Areas, I could Like this. But I Have to be Honest, I don't Like it as it Is. I think You Should think out Certain aspects Of The plot a little Better. Think About the games where Evidence was Needed to get a client Declared Guilty.

That's all, just wanted to Share my Opinion on This."

Spoiler: My lecture to Jeshi, part 2
You see how I said what you wanted to say but wasn't a total jerk about it? That's called respecting people's feelings while still asserting yourself. Or doesn't your fancy school give you any social skills?

Oh, by the way, sorry if I came off as rude. >:| I like this comic and wanted to both defend it and chastise you.

Also, are you really in a position to criticize when you proudly link to your "Sheezy Art" in your sig? Stuff like this?
---> http://www.sheezyart.com/view/1596313/

That's all I really wanted to say.

I agree entirely with what Shinkinrui said, and I too have decided to spare you all and put it in spoilers.

Spoiler: Lecture to Jeshi...
Jeshi, I am quite a tolerant and well-educated individual (I went to a public school, but I *DID* learn things and I *DID* graduate from college). But you, sir, are nearly always rude in your posts, and your way of improperly capitalizing the subjects (and random words?) of your sentences annoys me, honestly, more than people speaking fluent n00b or fluent 1337. It does make me wonder if your school--which I did read up on--will ever teach you (I'm sorry, they don't "teach" anything; perhaps I should have said "Will you ever teach yourself") proper grammar. Maybe you should choose to go to grammar "class" next time you attend. Your parents certainly are paying a high tuition for you to go there and...honestly, I don't know what they expect you do there, but the fact remains that they're paying a lot for you to do it, and you might as well enrich yourself in subjects that will be useful later in life.

But I digress. When you learn how to communicate without sounding like a complete jackass, we may pay attention to what you say. Until then, I honestly don't find much of what you say worth reading.

I do apologize if I came off as rude as you usually do, but I have had enough... I, too, defended you, but I have had enough.

...And I apologize to the readers of this thread as well. I didn't mean to further blemish this page with my ugly rant. I hope you'll forgive me. And I did read some of the comic and think it's quite amusing. :P

I appreciate you guys defending me. Thank you.

Jeshi, you seem to have formed your opinions of my work after having only read the first story. As with most pilots the story is a little stale, and the court case could have been much better. However, I like to think my work has gotten better through the chapters and I hope you're willing to read a bit more to form a full opinion.
As far as my art. I've never tried to project myself as a true artist. I, to my misfortune, cannot really draw, and am truly doing my best to provide a fun story for PW fans to read while they wait for that next game.
I'm terribly sorry that my efforts have not met your standards and I will certainly take your words into consideration.

And no fear, Jeshi. I didn't take your post to be the least bit offensive. Everyone has the right to express their opinions and some things just can't be said as politely as others.

Ah, hmm, I thought I might have spelled that wrong.

And he's stopping mid sentence. He was going to say 'I think you said that wrong.' I was a little worried that I had him cut off too soon and no one would know where I was going with it. I'll get on fixing those when I get a chance.

And he's stopping mid sentence. He was going to say 'I think you said that wrong.' I was a little worried that I had him cut off too soon and no one would know where I was going with it. I'll get on fixing those when I get a chance.

Ah, no I didn't mean the stopping in mid-sentence. I meant that the "your" was supposed to be "you" but I wasn't too sure since it was half a sentence.

The way I usually denote stopping mid-sentence is to use a hyphen. For example, if I were to- er, nevermind.
See? Eh? Pretty great too if you want to stop in the middle of a word. Just cut off at the syllab- ack, no, scratch that.

Heh, thanks.

Oh, a typo! My bad. My head is still very much fogged. I mostly just didn't want to make you guys wait too long for another page.

And he isn't really stopping so much as trailing off as he realizes that's probably exactly how Chris meant it.

EDIT: Wait, did you mean a Marilyn Grant fan club? Or a 'the safe word is tea' fan club?
