Post subject:  (07/07/16 UPDATE) Robert Civil: Ace Attorney

Hello fellow Ace Attorney fans! :hobohodo:

In June of 2015, I revisited the Ace Attorney games and immediately recalled my younger-years when I created a sprite comic on this site. I figured that it was about time that I attempted a whole new comic, following the adventures of Robert Civil: a prim and proper Ace Attorney and his young intern Rachel Rushton.

Image

If you are just a guest on this site, then I urge you to join. It is a great place to be. For those of you who wish to make your own sprite comic, then comment here or PM me and I will send my resources to you! I encourage you all to try and make your own sprite comic. After all, it is a fun form of expression that has died down over the past few years.

To celebrate the great reception this comic has had, there is currently a spin-off of it over in the fanfiction section of this site. It is set four years in this comic's future and shows Rachel's college years. Please check it out here, as it lets me develop her character in ways I cannot in this form.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Enjoy the cases so far! I do have plans for future cases, but whether that happens or not depends solely on the comic's reception in the comments section, so criticise, compliment and comment below, folks! Remember that I am no expert, though: I am just a guy trying his best.

Fanarts:
Hesseldahl's Brilliant Reinvented Rachel Sprite

Spoiler: Thanks To...
Special thanks to SuperAJ for making the two pieces of evidence in Case 1 Scene 23, as well as for revamping the sprite of Samantha for case 3. Credit goes to SuperAJ for most of the visually pleasing things in this comic. And thanks to Greeny's Tools which I will probably use a lot throughout this comic. Thanks to Ferdielance for the tool in Case 2 Scene 5. Thanks to Hesseldahl and SuperAJ3 for their assistance with the prosecutor sprite. Also, the mic stand in the intro of case 3 belongs to Skeledude12. He hasn't logged in for a while, but should he ever disagree with its use, I will replace it. Thanks to FenrirDarkWolf for the map which he made for Case 3 Scene 19.

Disclaimer: I (often heavily) edit each and every action-image which appears in this comic, but I do not own any of them. They are used for entertainment purposes only. Credit goes to the creators of the original images.

All the best, people.

Thank you :redd:

Back in the day, sprite comics were quite popular on this site, but when Greeny and Lind stopped, they died off. I'm just hoping to bring them back to life.

New update up now! :)

Hi! I saw these on AAO! I've been keeping up with them and enjoying it so far!
Just one criticism with the layout. The space in-between each word is small, and so I have issues working out the words. (My eyesight's pretty bad XD). Maybe double space, or just lengthen the text spacing in the image editor if you can?

Yeah I see what you mean, I'll try and lengthen the text spacing now. Thanks for reading, mate! :redd:

It took me half an hour, but I've doubled the text spacing to the maximum I can get it, so hopefully it is more clear now :-)

This forum used to be the thing which dragged me to this site night after night. It can be that again, all it needs is a bit of TLC, right? :) its sad to see it abandoned.

I'm still finding my feet, as I haven't made sprites in five years, but hopefully I'll find a formula and get a bit of sprite-comic competition around here.

Thanks for your support :pearl:

I figure the best I could do was leave a comment.
For your information, I have been reading the comic. For your information, I turn off my brain for it. For your information, that means I'm not really paying attention to the mystery. For your information, that makes me wonder if I'm really even reading it. But for your information, I have been reading them every day.

LOL Using his cellphone to call Gatewater. I like the banter Civil and Rachel have, it's a good dynamic!
Also, to avoid spamming "new panel!" comments, if you haven't received any replies for the day, you could edit your last post, or the thread's title?
(In AAO, you can delete your last post, then repost so it doesn't take up any space!)

Sorry, its a force of habit. Back in the day it was just something which was done to let people know it was updated. I'll just start editing the previous comment. That's actually really helpful advise!
Also, thanks for cleaning up that sprite for me :redd:

It'd be hell if I made them without feedback, as I think the fun would be sucked out of it in no time!

As a thank you, I put together an extra today based on a thought that I had when putting together one of the comics.

The sprite comic section is kind of an abandoned island at the moment, but I have high hopes that the people will come together and give it new life!

Thanks for reading! :) I update daily (usually just a few minutes past midnight) so be sure to check out the next part later tonight!

Good luck with that, this graveyard'll never probably going to get ressurected. There's a low chance of it, but if there's will, there's hope. I see you have the will on ressurecting this graveyard, and I think there might be a hope for you sooner or later. Good luck~

Oh, and awesome comics! I'll be waiting for more! :maya:

It IS a really awesome fangame. It's actually kinda sad that few people seem to have played it...sorry for using your thread for advertising but I saw the opportunity to do so and...yeah.

Creating and running a sprite comic is incredibly easy and it pays off daily, that is what confuses me as to why this section is dead. The readers are all incredibly feeling as well!

I encourage everyone who has an interest in creative writing to take it up.

I will work on convincing all the sprites to take up the challenge haha :will:

Thanks for reading, mate. I appreciate it a lot!

(On a side note, I will be sure to check out that fangame due to you thinking so highly of it!) :godot:
